hi there this is Tom Lee I'm the chief investment officer of fund Strat capital and the portfolio manager for the fun Strat us large cap granny shots ETF ticker grny this is our update for the week of December 15th first let me just start with some numbers the nav or the net asset value of grny stands at $20.85 compared to the current price of $20 87 total assets have reached 626 million for those wondering uh how that 626 million Compares here's a tweet from Nate jasi which lists the top 30 ETF launches in 2024 and Granny shots actually ranks number 22 with over 600 million of assets gathered but what's notable is that Granny shots has only been launched 5 weeks while this is actually encompassing all ETFs launched this year here in fact Nate goes on to point out that in terms of non- crypto ETFs the standout here is the granny shots us large cap ETF I want to start with some comments we received over the past week many folks have asked us about micro strategy and why it's not in the grny ETF um here's another one is there a place for micro strategy in granny granny needs micro strategy do you have a path or micro strategy to be included in granny so I thought I'd give you uh some thoughts around micro strategy now micro strategy has been around for many years it is a security company but they transformed their business by acquiring Bitcoin and they are now one of the largest holders of Bitcoin in the world with over 480,000 Bitcoin and equally important micro strategy is a smid granny shot now smid stands for small and midcap Granny shot and it's a smid granny shot as part of the fs Insight family of services so if you are a member of the fs Insight family you can find the smid granny shots um and we update that every month but as I point out micro strategy is actually ranked highly in the smid granny portfolio because it actually appears in four themes as I'm highlighting here if we zoom in micro strategy scores favorably in our style tilt it's a millennial story because of digital assets uh it's a play on the global labor supplier shortage and Ai and it's actually also highly correlated to easing Financial conditions and that's because of Bitcoin now in terms of Bitcoin uh it's an asset that we've recommended for our clients for more than past eight and a half years at FS insight and at fun Strat but I think what's notable is that Bitcoin is now considered to be potentially a strategic Reserve asset for the US government and President elect Trump actually confirmed this this past Friday that they have plans to make a Bitcoin Reserve so that this would solidify a future where you may want to have an allocation to bitcoin and one way is through micro strategy Bitcoin currently stands at about a$2 trillion Network value compared to 19 trillion for gold so if Bitcoin is digital gold and replaces or surpasses the value of gold that would put the price of Bitcoin at close to a million per Bitcoin compared to around 100,000 today so that's why you could see investors remain enthusiastic about the future for Bitcoin but the question is why is micro strategy not in granny shots well to be part of the granny shots the stock has to be in a major index whether that's the S&P 500 or the NASDAQ 100 and micro strategy had not been in either index except now the is changing as of Friday because micro strategy is now been added as of Friday to the NASDAQ 100 so you might wonder where does this stand with micro strategy in granny shots well I think you just need to stay tuned now let's discuss performance of Granny shots over the past week granny shots fell 1.2 percentage points which is disappointing the S&P fell 6 percentage points so granny underperformed the broader Market by 56 basis points but since Inception granny shots is up 4.25% compared to a 2.2% gain for the S&P which means granny is outperforming the broader Market by 200 basis points now let's look at the performance of The Granny Holdings sorted from best to worst over the past week um The Columns here represent the membership of each of these stocks within a theme and as you can see here uh roughly half of the granny shot stocks themselves beat granny meaning half of the names contributed to the performance the top five performers this week were Tesla Google Arista networks apple and Quant Services um I think that this is just a continuation of the return of the mag 7 because three of the five top names are mag seven stocks with of course the strongest leadership coming from Tesla slow and that's okay with us because as long as the mag 7 leads you're getting exposure through granny shots in terms of the bottom five performers here's the list Nvidia lios Exxon Enterprises AMD and Oracle now the worst of these is Oracle which reported results last week stock fell despite what looked like decent guidance and decent results but here's the thing if you zoom out and this is monthly or Oracle for the past 10 years you can see that the stock has been strong for the past few years like a bull so I think this is still a compounder and a name that still works as a granny shot there aren't any major events in the coming week that we want to highlight and for those who are not familiar with what a granny shot is it refers to an unconventional style of a basketball free throw most people shoot free throws like on the left like Shaquille here but they only make 52% of the shots a more unconventional approach to a free throw is underhanded like Rick Barry and be Hall of Famer here and you make 90% of the shots but it just does not look as cool and that's what we're trying to accomplish with Granny shots find high probability stocks that will outperform the broader market now we look at themes including themes like Millennials Global labor sers cyber security and easing Financial conditions as well as style tilt seasonality and things like PMI recovery and in order to be a granny shot it's not only just appearing in one of these themes it has to appear in more than one theme and for instance if you look at these stocks for instance like meta it appears in five of the seven themes and
