The world's largest Bitcoin exchange is sabotaging Bitcoin, not publicly, but behind closed doors in the US Congress. Three independent sources on Capitol Hill confirm that Coinbase is actively lobbying to keep Bitcoin taxed forever, while BlackRock, Morgan Stanley and Cliffwater are freezing their investors' money.
One after the other in the same week. What's happening here is no coincidence. It is a coordinated attack on your assets, and anyone who believes this will remain an American problem is mistaken. Because if BlackRock and Morgan Stanley freeze their investors' money, it also affects every German who invests in international funds, has a life insurance policy, or has money at a bank that participates in this market.
Let me explain what's going on behind the scenes, because this is the most important story of the week and no mainstream media outlet is reporting on it. Let's start with Coinbase. On March 11, Marty Bent, founder of TFTC and Managing Partner at 1031, published a report that packs a punch. He says, based on three independent sources in the US Congress, that Coinbase is lobbying behind the scenes to prevent the so- called de minimis tax exemption for Bitcoin.
What does that mean? In the US, Bitcoin is taxed as property. Every time you pay for a coffee with Bitcoin, it's a taxable transaction in the USA. You must calculate and report capital gains. This makes Bitcoin practically unusable as a means of payment in everyday life . And Senator Cynthia Lummis has introduced a bill that would exempt small Bitcoin transactions under $300 from tax.
That would be a game changer for Bitcoin as a means of payment in the USA, and according to sources, Coinbase is lobbying against exactly that . They tell lawmakers that nobody uses Bitcoin as money, and a tax exemption for Bitcoin would be dead on arrival. The exemption is intended to apply only to stablecoins, specifically regulated dollar-pegged stablecoins.
Like USDC, and now guess who has massive investments in USDC. Coinbase. And who manages USDC's money? Blackrock. Coinbase's reaction was revealing. Basically, within hours, CEO Brian Armstrong, the Chief Policy Officer, the Chief Legal Officer, and the Vice President for US Policy all came out at the same time and said that this is a total lie, categorically false.
We never lobbied against Bitcoin. But when TFTC stood by its reporting and refused to retract the report, all of these Coinbase employees simultaneously fell silent. Not a single one addressed the substance of the accusations. Not a single one offered transparency. Only denials, no evidence. And now look at the pattern.
Brian Armstrong did not publicly mention the word Bitcoin for five years between 2017 and 2022. Five years as CEO of the world's largest Bitcoin exchange. Instead, it was always crypto this, crypto that, buy our stablecoin. Last week, Coinbase introduced ten-times leveraged Bitcoin contracts for European customers .
Not to encourage Bitcoin ownership , but to allow people to gamble away their Bitcoin, and Coinbase continues to refuse to show a Proof of Reserves . Brian Armstrong actually said, yes, you're selling to a centralized custodian. We provide no proof. Trust us, bro. That's the level we're talking about here.
And now the connection to Blackrock. Coinbase is the primary custodian for the Blackrock Bitcoin ETF. The two bosses, Brian Armstrong and Larry Fink, regularly appear together, most recently at the World Economic Forum. Coinbase has invested heavily in Circle , the company behind USDC. And who manages USDC's reserves?
Blackrock. And that is a closed system. Coinbase earns money from USDC, Blackrock earns money from USDC, both earn money from Bitcoin ETF. But neither of them earns a single cent from Bitcoin as a free, decentralized means of payment. On the contrary, it would threaten their business model . Last year, BlackRock quietly moved a portion of its holdings to a secondary custodian called Anchorage Digital.
A company that is 15 times smaller than Coinbase. To this day, there is no explanation for why they did that . At the same time, Blackrock and Coinbase are jointly promoting USDC as a competing product to Bitcoin. They want Bitcoin to remain locked away as a store of value in ETFs and for no one to use it as money.
Instead, USDC is intended to take over the payment function. That's the plan. And while Coinbase and Blackrock work behind the scenes against Bitcoin, the private lending market is collapsing. And this is the chronology of the last seven days. Friday, March 6, Blackrock freezes $1.2 billion in its $26 billion fund.
Investors wanted to withdraw 9.3%, but only 5% was paid out. BlackRock stock -7%. Monday, March 10, Blackstone reports record outflows, $3.8 billion in withdrawals from an $82 billion fund. They are putting in 400 million of their own money to be able to cover the payouts. Wednesday, March 12, Morgan Stanley limits payouts from its $8 billion fund.
Investors want 11% back, but only 5% has been paid out. Less than half of the requests were fulfilled . Morgan Stanley shares subsequently fall by 4%; on the same day, Morgan Stanley lays off 2500 employees. Also on March 12, Cliffwater, a $33 billion fund, reported record outflows: 14% wanted out, while 7% would be paid out.
A week ago, it was 7% inquiries. The number has now doubled. On the same day, JP Morgan announced that it would write off certain loans to private credit funds and restrict its lending to the sector. Five institutions in one week, all locking up money and withdrawing. The private credit market has grown to two trillion dollars and is currently undergoing its first real stress test.
The problem is therefore structural. These funds promised investors quarterly liquidity, but the money is tied up in loans with maturities of five to seven years. If everyone wants to leave at the same time, there simply isn't enough cash available. Then assets have to be sold below value, and that is exactly what fund managers are desperately trying to avoid by locking the doors .
And Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JP Morgan, said in an interview a week ago that cyberattacks are one of the biggest risks his bank is preparing for. In the midst of a credit crisis, the head of the world's largest bank talks about cyberattacks. Why? Perhaps because a cyberattack is needed as an explanation when the systems eventually stop working.
Make sure you remember this. And it does n't stop with the banks. Take a look at what the insiders are doing right now. In recent weeks, company insiders have sold off billions of dollars' worth of shares. Diamondback Energy, one billion. Peter Thiel has sold 300 million Palantir shares. An Nvidia board member sold off 50 million, and CEOs, board members, supervisory board members, everyone is selling at the same time.
These are the people who know more than we do, more than ordinary people. And they run towards the exit. So when insiders sell on this scale while the media are still talking about short-term pain , it's no coincidence. This is a warning sign that you shouldn't ignore . In Canada, subprime lender Go Easy fell from $115 to $40 this week.
That's 65 percent in one week. Since its peak in September 2025, the company has experienced a loss of over 85 percent. This doesn't look like a stock. This looks like a shitcoin chart. And this is not a small company. This is one of the largest lenders to consumers with poor credit in all of Canada.
Go Easy's chart today looks exactly like the charts of the American mortgage banks in 2008, just before everything collapsed. And then there are the media. This week, a compilation video went viral showing female news anchors from different countries and channels all saying the same phrase: "Short-term pain for long-term gain." Short term pain for long term gain.
And if everyone reads the same script at the same time, you need to know this, we've had that happen several times in history, then you know that something bigger is going on. The last time they all read from the same sheet of paper was in early 2020. You might remember that. Just 14 days later, to flatten the curve .
That turned into two and a half years. And what does all this mean for your money here in Germany now? The official inflation rate is 2.1%, but the cumulative price increase since 2020 is 22.8%. Natural gas + 84%, butter + 61%, eggs + 41%, olive oil + 76%, the doner kebab from €3 to €8.20, that's 173%.
The electricity price is 37 cents per kilowatt hour, but only because it is subsidized, the highest in all G20 countries. And the state is incurring €6,918 in new debt per second, €218 billion in new debt per year. And that is a historic record. The total debt amounts to 2 trillion euros. The interest on these debts eats up over 50 billion euros per year, more than the entire education budget.
Germany spends more on yesterday's debts than on tomorrow's education. In this environment, Coinbase is now telling American lawmakers that Bitcoin should not be money, it should remain taxed so that their stablecoins can win. And do you see what's happening right now? And amidst all this chaos, Bitcoin remains remarkably stable at around $70,000, while the Dow Jones falls to a yearly low, the S&P 500 has been bleeding for weeks, and Asian stock markets are collapsing, Bitcoin is sitting at higher lows.
Luke Roman said this week that, given everything that's happening right now, he would have expected Bitcoin to be at 55,000. The fact that we're at 70,000 is a very, very strong signal. And the reason is simple: the people who understand what's happening here are withdrawing their money from the banks and funds and parking it where no one can close the door.
The number of Bitcoins on centralized exchanges is plummeting. Last year, the exodus from the stock markets accelerated massively. People take self-protection seriously. The solution has never been easier than it is now. Buy Bitcoin, take it off the exchange, put it in a hardware wallet. And if you want more information, you can find a link in the description below the video.
Don't trust Coinbase, don't trust BlackRock, do n't trust Morgan Stanley, because these institutions have just shown that they will freeze your money as soon as it becomes inconvenient for them. Bitcoin is the only money that no one can lock the door on. No CEO, no fund manager, no politician, if you keep it in your own custody.
