she quickly hired a great team of very intelligent analysts to do the heavy lifting research listen to this quote from a recent interview if you want great things to happen in your career think big she says focus on the future double down on innovation and in a world driven by disruption make sure that you're on the right side of change kathy said they have five etfs focused on disruptive innovation we have parked money in all five of them a-r-k-k a-r-k-q a-r-k-w a-r-k-g and a-r-k-f there's an expensive ratio of 0.75 percent for everything you're getting though we certainly don't feel like this is too much ark is up over 115 percent for the last 12 months so 0.75 percent isn't too much to pay for that kind of return a rkq is up over 80 percent over the last 12 months arkw is up over 123 percent ark g is up over 122 and arkf is up over 86 in the last year alone crazy returns right absolutely the benchmark that all the etfs are compared to is the s p 500 so what is the s p 500 done over the last 12 months in comparison try just over 15 percent wow arc destroyed that benchmark in every etf they manage and 15 is actually a pretty good return how does kathy do it how does she beat the benchmark like a big bass drum by investing in the future not the past she is forever in search of the next big thing here's a quote from their website to help explain it through our open to compare tesla by itself to the ark etf tesla is up over 514 percent wait what that's right ark is up over 115 percent but tesla is up over 514 percent so you can see how cherry picking can potentially accelerate an already incredible return i'm going to tell you what we have cherry-picked separately from arcs holdings followed by each company's one-year returns we have invested in pac bio 165 month return nano dimension negative six percent but still very early virgin galactic 77 percent palantir which has only been traded for a month 1.6 percent open door around three months on the market 53 percent in vitae 135 square 143 workhorse 460 percent pinterest 184 percent crispr 78 lavongo which is now fully merged with teledoc 513 roku 37 the trade desk 176 and bitcoin 47 so you can see that some of these stocks have had incredible years and keep in mind these numbers reflect last week's terrible pre-election dip we just experienced so some of these percentages were actually much higher just a few short days ago these are just some of the companies we really liked and wanted to accumulate more shares and a few of them are very young and arc is just now beginning their own accumulation you may want to pay close attention to some of those ipob open door nnn dm nano pltr palantir to name a few that we are very excited about we would suggest you invest in the arc etfs which you think have the best chance to grow over the next few years and then you can also build your own funds so to speak based on individual stocks that you find here in ark's collection companies
