01. Yes, hello. This is JB. First of all, although I mentioned this to our membership members via the community board early this morning, I have entered into additional purchases of Bank of America. Even though the current price is higher than my average purchase price, I decided to just " average up." As I have mentioned frequently, I believe that in the current situation, large banks are suitable for adding to with peace of mind, as their downside is considered to be somewhat fixed.

02. Also, to reiterate for new subscribers, I invest with a ratio of approximately 50% tech stocks, 30% bonds, and 20% bank stocks. I will continue to inform you immediately via the community board whenever I buy or sell anything. So, since I don't really have anything to say about yesterday's market conditions—where bonds and stocks essentially ended flat—I will go straight to the topic I wrote in the thumbnail today.

03. Sometimes people say things like, " Hey, the Nasdaq index is bound to trend upwards anyway, so why are you cutting TQQ? It's better to just keep holding it for the best returns, and the same goes for SOXL." JB, you also need to believe in the upward trend of the US stock market and the semiconductor sector in the end.

04. There are people who say things like, "You're not investing for that reason, are you? So why emphasize this and unnecessarily make people feel regretful? It would have been better if they had just kept holding on." But everyone, that is purely hindsight. I believe that you must proceed with your investments in TQQ and SOXL while strictly taking partial profits.

05. Now, this might not really apply to those with massive assets or those who always have cash left over separate from their stock investments. However, the reason the majority of retail investors must do this is because you never know when, where, or how a situation requiring cash might arise. Since I started my YouTube channel, I have seen so many such cases in the comments on my videos and in my own circle.

06. Especially last year, the drop in TQQ and SOXL was massive. TQQ fell to as low as $16, and SOXL to $6. If you look at that time, a return of minus 50% was the norm, and there were countless people who lost 7 to 8.8 billion won. Of course, those who entered into dollar-cost averaging (DCA) properly probably did n't face such a disaster.

07. But honestly, for over 90% of ordinary retail investors, DCA... Does that work properly? Even after deciding to buy in installments, if you don't feel confident the next day, you give in and buy again because you can't resist the temptation. Then, if it seems to rise slightly the next day, you buy again, and end up spending all your cash before even a week has passed—doing that is not dollar-cost averaging.

08. I will upload a separate video about dollar-cost averaging later if I get the chance. Anyway, getting back to the topic, let's say you bought a huge amount thinking TQQ is an asset that only goes up indefinitely—either because you didn't realize it was at its peak, or because you thought it did n't matter since it would keep rising anyway.

09. Let's assume you got hit with an 80% loss like last year. That is when the problem arises. As I mentioned earlier, those who are incredibly wealthy might not really care. Those who already have many other assets besides stocks and ample cash might say something like this: "I just picked the wrong timing.

10. It's okay. It's bound to go up in 10 years anyway. Still, it'll be annoying to keep staring at it, so I'll just delete the stock app, pretend the money is gone, and live on. I have plenty of money anyway." You might say that. However, for the majority of people who are not super-rich and are just living the life of ordinary citizens...

11. For retail investors, if you face a massive market downturn like last year, and on top of that, suddenly find yourself in a situation where you need money—there could be various scenarios. You might need a large sum for reasons like paying an interim payment for an apartment. Since every penny counts in such a situation, you would inevitably have to pull out TQ or SOCs that are currently showing such huge losses.

12. The question is, how do you plan to weather this? For this very reason, I believe it is not a good idea to go all-in on tech stocks, especially TQs or SOCs. Although the rise may be slow, I think you should hold assets that offer relatively good defense in a bear market—assets that can act as hatchbacks—alongside tech stocks.

13. This will significantly increase the probability of success in long-term investing in TQs and SOCs. These assets could be dividend stocks or bonds. Now, everyone, investing for 10 years isn't as easy as it sounds. If it were easy, the percentage of wealthy people in South Korea would have increased by at least 30% by now, since everyone who wanted to invest in stocks was already doing so back in 2010.

14. You can't just glance at a chart and think, "Oh..." "Wow, that's amazing. If you bought TQQ in 2010 and sold it at its peak in 2021, that's a whopping 10,000-fold return. The returns are incredible, so why can't you just hold on no matter what happens?" Many people think this way. However, everyone, that is only if you assume that your life flows smoothly for those 10 years without any incidents or crises.

15. Can you guarantee that the next 10 years of your life will be completely smooth with no major expenses? Some of you might say, "Oh, I'm already old and retired anyway, so there aren't really any elements in my life that will be that dynamic." But everyone, you never know. What will you do if a major crisis suddenly happens to your children and you have to help them?

16. And the country could suddenly face a national crisis. I believe no one can guarantee the future. Anyway, that is why, when investing in these highly volatile triple-leverage products, I think it is advisable to take partial profits whenever an opportunity arises to secure cash for the uncertain future.

17. Holding onto cash... If it is difficult to maintain that cash, I think it is also a good idea to use that solid cash to buy dividend stocks or bonds. So, I will end today's video here.
