So, back on Morning Trade, live. Nvidia is jumping into the world of PCs with a new processor called N1X, on a new RTX Spark superchip. The ARM-based chip will debut on laptop models from Microsoft, Dell, HP, Asus, Lenovo, MSI, as well. Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang, unveiled the new processor during a keynote address at Taiwan's Computex conference earlier today.
So, that is turning out to be a major headline catalyst for this stock, in fact, more so than the earnings. And it's sending shares in Intel and AMD in the other direction, which I would say, having covered Computex for a number of years, is not a surprise, because Nvidia does unveil some big announcements, Molly, uh who's giving us a closer look at this today in recent years.
But just walk us through the details here, because this is, as I said, a huge market mover. I mean, particularly for some of those names that we spoke about last week, which were out with earnings, as well. Even the software stocks, which are getting a look in today off the back of that, as well. Yeah, good morning, Sam.
And yes, it's a a huge headline, but it's not the only headline. Nvidia just having a really strong day. We're up almost 5% so far, on the heels of this keynote speech from Jensen Huang, where, of course, he did announce Nvidia's new entrance into the PC market. But that's not the only thing. Let's start with that, though.
Pushing it to PCs with this new processor, like you mentioned, it's called the N1X. It's on the new RTX Spark superchip. That new superchip is set to reinvent Windows PCs for the era of personal AI agents. It's an ARM-based chip. It will debut on models from Microsoft, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and MSI. And Jensen Huang, as you said, at Computex, came out announcing this new processor that they made alongside of Microsoft.
That's the primary partnership here. It will be incorporated into that superchip, which will make its debut in the fall, in this fresh line of Windows PCs from all of of brands that I just mentioned. Jensen Huang going to say, quote, "The this reinvention of the computer is as big a deal as the reinvention of the phone into what we know now as the smartphone." He pointed to the fact that agentic AI will run across all of these new computers, adding, quote, "that Microsoft and Nvidia are going to reinvent the PC.
This is the first completely re-engineered, reinvented line of PCs that has happened in 40 years." In addition to this, the company also said that global AI labs are planning to adopt their new Vera CPUs. Those include names like Anthropic, OpenAI, and SpaceX. Uh and they also have ByteDance, CoreWeave, Lambda, Nebius, n-scale, and Oracle listed as partners as well.
Now, of course, they debuted that first Vera CPU back in March during the GTC conference, and now they're saying that uh they are fully ramping into production for the Vera Rubin platform to power these agentic AI factories. So, a lot of really strong announcements coming out. Obviously, that PC announcement and its foray into the computer market.
And then this commentary around this readjustment of the PC is going to be the same thing as when we move from what we called phones to now smartphones, certainly could be uh a huge, huge transformational thing. Uh but also saying that manufacturers building standalone CPU systems at scale with this new Vera Rubin platform, another big announcement here.
Some other big names, Dell, Hewlett Packard Enterprises, Lenovo, Supermicro, Asus, Compal, Foxconn, Gigabyte, Pegatron, Quanta Cloud Technology, Wistron, and Wiwynn. So, a lot of new partnerships unveiled here, a lot of progress on the Vera Rubin front. But, of course, as you highlighted, Sam, that first major announcement, that big announcement is this move into the PC market alongside of Microsoft in this shift to transform Windows PCs as we know them with the inclusion of these LLMs from OpenAI and Anthropic.
Yeah, there's certainly something in there for everybody today. Yeah, sprinkling the love around. Quite a sit now for Nvidia. So, thanks so much for that, Miley. We'll trade it now with Charles Moon, stock strategist at Pepperstone Trading Academy. Very good morning to you, Charles. Hope you had a nice weekend.
How would you approach an example trade for Nvidia this morning? Uh probably pretty aggressively. Uh I was looking for the breakout early today around 17 half. And I love the idea that this is uh the stock's going to make a push towards around 225. I think it getting above 225 opens the door for a revisit to the all-time high.
So, I was looking at a shorter-dated contract, the June 15th 225 strike. I was looking to grab it at 4 and 1/2 or lower. So, we're going to need a little bit of a pullback to buy in. I believe the stop should be at around 50%. That'll break it below key technical levels um and certainly show that the stock will be working lower versus higher.
And I believe that if you grab these grab this trade, that the wins will exceed easily over 100% because of this push, especially with the near-term demand. You know, we've seen kind of the contrarian price movement where Nvidia's shown strength today and AMD has shown some weakness, that the market is actually looking for a reason to buy into Nvidia.
And this is the one catalyst that could really spark up the actual demand and have it sustainable. We've seen what it's done to names like Dell, and Dell continues to push higher. Arms performing really well on this news. I just believe that Nvidia is going to be that Pied Piper for a lot of these names.
And I just believe that that break of that 217, which they've struggled over the last week to get above, was really, really key today. Okay, so key moment there for Nvidia. Trading at 220 bucks and change right now. Any thoughts on the overall market today as we kick start a fresh trading month obviously at these record highs.
Obviously oil seems to be the story today, but other than tech and that, what are you keeping your eye on? Well, you know, it's it's pretty evident that we've seen somewhat of a rotation out of these semiconductor names. Not everything. Certainly the component makers are going to benefit. I believe that memory and optic plays are still going to be really really good on on the heels of this Nvidia news, but it's the software names that's really catching my attention.
You know, cybersecurity names are starting to explode over the last few days. Okta OKTA is really coming to life. Cloudflare and Zscaler Zscaler off of a pretty bad earnings reaction is starting to come right back up off of these lows, but it's pretty notable that IBM in the last 2 weeks went from 52-week 52-week lows to 52-week highs.
Names like Adobe and CRM, which were kind of left dead in the water, actively moving like their names switched to AMD and AVGO. So, you know, we're seeing this kind of rotation back and forth. You know, it's a bit surprising considering how strong crude is, which is generally going to be negative for the markets.
Obviously the rise in crude is more of an impact on how negotiations in the Middle East are going. And I just believe that right now, while the markets are overall bullish, we have to be very careful as short-term traders because we're going to be back in this news-driven market. And you know, it's something that you really just can't foresee how the news feed is going to print out and how the markets will react to that news.
So, you know, we're seeing a little bit more of the short-term thesis. We're seeing a little bit more of a chase of the momentum trades right now. And I believe it's going to be like that for the time being until there's more clarity in the Middle East. Yeah, and just when we thought software was dead.
I mean, the IGV up for what? 7 weeks now and uh what? 40% or so over that time putting on another 3 and 1/2 today, 104 and change. So, that's obviously something we've been watching very closely. Charles, always appreciated. Thank you so much for that. Charles Moon there, stock strategist, Prostar Training Academy.
