Are you ready to find out what the next frontier in the crypto world is? You will learn about it in this video. And I'll tell you, 99% of people, I guarantee, don't pay attention to what's going to be discussed. This could be a game-changer, much more so than any of the nonsense being talked about in the context of cryptocurrencies today.
But first, let's break this down with an example. And then you open your eyes and say, "Oh my God." Ready? Let's go. Good. So, we are in the notebook. Here's what we'll do. Let's take a stylus and create an example. Let's say you have $100,000 to invest. Let's call it AP. This is " after taxes". Of course?
So, you've already paid taxes on them. You have $100,000 to invest. So what will you do? Well, you want to be an investor who takes , say, 10 of your favorite coins out of the top 30 tokens available. This way you feel like a diversified investor within the crypto space. That's pretty reasonable. Many people do that.
Then, if one or two of them fail or, conversely, show an incredible result, your portfolio is at least somewhat diversified in the crypto ecosystem. Of course, you know, there are also stocks, real estate , your income. But we're only talking about crypto, okay? Let's stick to the point. Let's say, for example, that one of these coins suddenly doubles for some reason.
It actually increases by $90,000. So now suddenly your entire portfolio, which was $100,000 with 10% in each coin or token, becomes a $190,000 portfolio. But the problem is that one of these coins or tokens now accounts for about 47.5%. Here is that central token. In fact, it's 52%. I read it the other way around.
So, that's about 52% of your portfolio. And then suddenly everything else is only worth about 5% of your portfolio. This is because you have nine such assets . To simplify the calculations, this will be about 5.2%. The point is, you've completely lost your balance, have n't you? Completely out of balance.
So what is the natural thing to do in such a situation? The natural move for a typical diversified investment manager or portfolio manager would be to sell the excess of that particular token. So, if we have $190,000 for 10 tokens or coins, we need to get each one to $19,000. So we're going to go ahead and buy $9,000 each of them.
And that means we need to sell $81,000 of the extra $ 100,000 in profit, right ? This is how you get a diversified portfolio. But there is one big problem with this. Now you have to pay the damn taxes on that $81,000. And let's assume , since it's a cryptocurrency, it's a short-term investment. And you will also have to pay some state taxes.
You pay 30% federal tax . Let's assume an average of 10% federal or, better yet, state tax. Even if we take five, it doesn't matter, we'll subtract 35%. OK? 30 + 5, it turns out 35%. Well, suddenly we only have $52,000 left. So if we sell that, we won't have a $ 190,000 portfolio left . We'll only be left with a portfolio of $152,000, which means that because of the damn taxes, instead of $19,000 in each asset, we'll end up with a balanced portfolio of only $15,000 in each.
Now, don't get me wrong, this is great. You still went from $100,000 to $150,000. This is great. You are a great investor. You did a fantastic job. But it could have been $190,000. It could have been 190. But wait a minute, Kevin. Is it just "what ifs and what ifs"? No. And that's the whole point. This is not "what ifs and what ifs".
It could be $190,000 with a very, very, very simple tool. A tool that actually comes into the crypt. When you see what kind of tool this is, you'll say, "Oh my god, I want one of those." Ready to see what this tool is? It's very, very, very, very simple, and it'll be with us soon. This instrument is an ETF, an exchange- traded fund.
Why? What does an ETF allow you to do? Well, I'm an active ETF manager . I have ETFs. I know how it works. I simply don't have a crypto ETF because one doesn't exist for that yet, but it's coming. But what allows you to do a crypto ETF or any ETF? Well, an ETF allows you to come in here and do something similar to a 1031 real estate exchange.
We literally did that this summer. So, this feature exists. For example, this summer we had about three to four million dollars in profit from stocks that we wanted to partially sell. So we exchanged them for other stocks. And because we did a trade instead of a sale, we saved over a million dollars in taxes.
This allowed the total capital to remain larger. That's what we're talking about here. So, how to do it? Well, the way to do it through ETFs, and this is what will come to the crypto world, is that you go to people called APs, okay? ETF managers do this for you. They go to the AP, the authorized participant, and they say, " Hey, AP, we have $90,000 in token 2 or stock 2, basically, of something that we want to sell.
We want to turn that into nine different tokens. So we could rebalance our portfolio by putting nine in each of those. Because it's a trade or rather an exchange, we're swapping that basket for another basket. It's not a taxable event. The IRS says that's okay. Why? Why is that okay? It's simple. It's okay because when Vanguard was founded and they wanted to constantly rebalance the S&P 500 or the NASDAQ, they didn't want to constantly pass on the tax consequences to investors every time they did a rebalance because one stock went up.
So you can do that today with stocks. Again, I know this because I run an actively managed ETF. Yes, it's listed on NASDAQ. It's very simple. But this video is not to promote my ETF. Just to tell you that I understand at least somewhat how these ETFs work, which gives me the perspective to say, this is probably coming to crypto, because we know that BTC is going to get an ETF soon.
So what's next? Ethereum is going to get an ETF. So what happens after that? Cardano, Doge, Solana, Polka Dot. You see what I'm getting at? They're all going to get their own ETFs eventually, or you're going to have an ETF that just essentially creates an S&P 500 for crypto, except it's not the S&P 500, it's the C500 or the C50, right?
The Crypto 50, or something like that. Now you have an ETF that has a stake in each of them. And if one of them doubles for whatever reason, the ETF can actively rebalance it back, distributing the gains to the others without passing the tax on to the investor. So if the investor ends up selling the C50, well, yeah, of course, at that point he's going to have to pay taxes.
But while these redistributions are happening , someone can have access to crypto without paying any damn taxes on the profits. And that's really good . It's also different from tax optimization through losses. Tax optimization is when one of the assets goes from 10 to zero, right? And then you close that position.
And then you offset it with the profit from another stock, just writing off the losses. You still lost money. When you tax optimize through losses, yes, it's a strategy, but you still lose money. Got it? And that sucks. It's not the same as having profits and not paying taxes without losses to offset them.
So I think when the C50 comes into crypto, whether it's top 50, top 10, top 20, it doesn't matter, that's when we're going to get real mass adoption of crypto. That's when people will look and They'll say, "Oh, that's what I like . A way to diversify, which is smart, a way to avoid taxes, which is smart, and a way to invest in different crypto assets.
Damn, that sounds cool. It's coming. I'm willing to bet it's going to be in the next year. So buckle up . I'm really excited about this. I'll be following this because I'm trying to play "4D chess" and see what's coming in the future, not just what's going to happen in a few weeks. We want to look at the future and understand where things are going.
Anyway, if you want more perspectives, learn more about what I have to offer at meetke.com or just subscribe to the channel, and I'll see you in the next video. I'm going to hit that button right now and start a disclaimer because I have to. Don't promote this stuff it. We'll try to promote it a little and see what happens. Cheers, man. .
