시장 변동성 속 Tom Lee의 시각

01. Markets are swinging wildly, fear is everywhere, and headlines are screaming recession. But Tom Lee isn't flinching. In his latest interview, the legendary strategist says good stock opportunities are emerging despite market zigzags. With key signals flashing by and inflation cooling in the right ways, Lee believes investors willing to look past the panic could be rewarded.

02. He's sticking to a bold year-end target for the S&P. And in this clip from CNBC, he breaks down exactly why.

200일 이동평균선 아래 종목 비중과 매수 신호

03. I think I know what you're saying, which is I do think markets are getting a little desensitized. That's what I mean. Yeah. And I think part of it is, if someone had an investor hat on, not a tactical hat, really good opportunities are emerging because the number of stocks below the 200-day moving average was historically about 15%. That's a strong buy signal. You're going to find a lot of bargains there. And when the VIX got above 50, it almost always pays to buy stocks. In the near term, it's a roller coaster. It does feel like we're having a lot of zigs and zags, and even over the weekend. But to me, everything that happened over the weekend, including the Sunday further explanations, is still unequivocally positive for stocks.

S&P 500 연말 목표치 상향 전망

04. Interesting. So when we were below 5,000 on the S&P, and now you're at 7,100, that's about 40%. You're now one of the high people on the street at 7,100. Were you there? Well, our year-end target originally was 6,600, but we thought we could touch 7,000 midyear. I think 6,600 is still possible, but 7,100 midyear would obviously be very difficult to reach. It's possible, though. 6,600 by year end.

인플레이션 둔화와 연준 금리 전망

05. You've made a lot of good calls based on moderating inflation. Well, if we didn't have to consider tariffs, inflation is definitely tracking below expectations, almost where the Fed wants it. Core inflation month over month came in at 0.0056. That's literally hitting a wall. Is that for good reasons or bad reasons? I think it's for the right reasons. Oil and food have come off the boil, but shelter is actually cooling to a 2% rate, and that is what you need to get inflation back down to 2%.

달러 약세와 미국 예외주의의 종말 논쟁

06. At this point, do you foresee the worst-case scenario in terms of dollar declines and 10-year yields, due to people not trying... The Journal had an interesting piece today saying it doesn't need to be that people just abandon the dollar and abandon the United States to invest elsewhere. It's just on the margin, because it's a given that you cannot ignore the United States as the elephant in the room globally for these currency and investment decisions. But on the margin, it could make a big difference if there was even a slight lessening of what we were used to.

07. Yeah, I agree. That is the narrative at the moment, that US exceptionalism is over and people are selling treasuries and dollars to buy other assets. But I'm not in that camp that it's sustainable. Unless a weaker dollar and higher yields suddenly make the best companies outside the US the best and most important companies in the world, the most important companies are American companies. They've produced the best shareholder returns. If you look at the S&P, 40% of its returns come from new companies every 10 years. Is the best new company suddenly going to come out of Europe instead of the US because of the dollar? I doubt it. I think US companies are going to adapt.

시장 신호 해석: 매집 구간과 공포 둔감화

08. Tom Lee has highlighted a key market signal. With only 15% of stocks above their 200-day moving average, history suggests a prime opportunity for bargain hunting. This technical indicator signals that significant value and potential gains are emerging as the majority of the market experiences a downturn. Lee interprets this as an accumulation phase, where savvy investors strategically begin to acquire shares in anticipation of the next market upswing.

09. Lee also suggests the market is becoming desensitized to fear. Initially, negative headlines can trigger strong reactions, but eventually the market tends to shrug off the panic. Despite ongoing concerns about tariffs, geopolitical instability, and inflation, the market is showing resilience. When bad news no longer causes significant negative reactions, it often indicates that the worst-case scenarios are already priced into stocks, so potential rewards outweigh the risks.

10. Lee also points out that the current decline in inflation appears driven by fundamental improvements, particularly cooling housing costs, a persistent driver of inflation. He believes this trend is sustainable and could lead the Federal Reserve to pause or even cut interest rates earlier than expected, a move that historically benefits growth stocks and leading tech companies.

11. Lee also remains optimistic about the long-term dominance of American companies. He dismisses concerns about the dollar's decline or global economic shifts, emphasizing that the US continues to produce innovative, high-performing businesses that historically drive a significant share of S&P 500 growth.

12. Ultimately, Lee encourages investors to take a long-term view and consider buying when others are fearful, seeing the current market as poised for growth, especially in innovative, high-quality companies.

엔비디아(NVDA) 투자 포인트

14. The stock is Nvidia, ticker NVDA, often called the king of artificial intelligence. Just as Tom Lee suggests looking at the future leaders of the S&P 500, Nvidia is definitely one of them. Even after its stock price dropped by about 26%, Nvidia is still at the center of the AI revolution. In many ways, it is the AI revolution. It powers much of the technology we see, from tools like ChatGPT to self-driving systems and everything in between. The stock has come down from its high, but smart investors understand that for top-tier growth stocks, these dips often create excellent buying opportunities. This could very well be one of those moments.

15. Here's an interesting fact: Nvidia started out focused on graphics processing units for gaming. Its technology proved exceptionally well suited to the complex calculations needed for artificial intelligence, which led to its dominance in this booming field.

16. Despite worries about economic slowdowns and tariffs, Nvidia's business is largely protected. The specific advanced chips Nvidia makes are currently exempt from tariffs. Additionally, with the US government prioritizing domestic chip production, Nvidia is in a strong position as a key American technology company. And the AI field is not slowing down at all; it's speeding up. Just two days before the latest tariff news, OpenAI raised a massive $40 billion at a $300 billion valuation. That's a clear sign that major players in finance and tech still have huge faith in the future of AI. When Nvidia's stock price falls in this environment, it means there's a chance to get in at a better price, potentially investing in a high-performing company with a strong competitive advantage, huge demand for its products, and support from government policy.

17. The race toward advanced artificial general intelligence is intensifying, and Nvidia remains the key technology driving much of this progress. Over the long term, this is a stock built not just to withstand market problems, but positioned to do very well because of them.

엔비디아 실적: 매출·이익 성장 분석

18. Let's examine Nvidia's financial results. Nvidia reported a 126% increase in revenue compared with the previous year, reaching $60.9 billion. That's not just growth, it's very fast growth. What's driving it? One word: AI. More specifically, revenue from its data center business has skyrocketed thanks to huge demand for Nvidia's Hopper GPU platform. These are the powerful processors that run large language models, recommendation systems, and generative AI, the technologies that create new content. Nvidia has firmly established itself at the heart of the AI revolution. This isn't a one-time surge. With generative AI adoption still in its early stages, this jump in revenue signals the beginning of a growth trend that could last for many years. Nvidia is no longer just a graphics card company; it's a powerful force across the entire AI infrastructure.

19. Now, profit margins, because growth without profit isn't very meaningful. Nvidia's gross profit margin, the money left after the cost of making its products, came in at a very high 72.7%, up 15.8 percentage points from the year before. That's the kind of margin you usually see in software companies, not in a business that makes physical hardware like semiconductors. Why is it so high? Because Nvidia dominates the high-end computing market and has considerable pricing power. Its Hopper GPUs and InfiniBand networking technology are cutting-edge and command premium prices. Strong gross margins indicate sustainable profits and a competitive edge likely to last. That financial strength supports long-term shareholder value and lets Nvidia invest heavily in R&D to stay ahead.

20. The numbers get really impressive here. Nvidia's operating income, the profit left after covering operating expenses, exploded 681% from the previous year to $33 billion. This is a clear example of operating leverage. As revenue grows, Nvidia is managing costs effectively, and the result is a highly profitable business. It's not just benefiting from a growing market; it's skillfully managing its business. High profit margins, tight cost control, and accurate forecasts of market demand are all working together.

21. Finally, the bottom line: earnings per share, or EPS, the company's profit divided by its outstanding shares. Nvidia's EPS came in at $11.93, a 586% increase from last year. That is Nvidia turning its market dominance into real returns for investors, and it's a number Wall Street watches closely. With this kind of EPS growth, Nvidia has exceeded expectations and is well placed to use its profits in ways that could further benefit shareholders, such as paying dividends, buying back stock, and investing even more in innovation.

엔비디아의 전략적 확장과 향후 성장 동력

22. Nvidia's recent strategic moves underscore its relentless innovation and expansion. Data center revenue has more than tripled, fueled by widespread adoption of its Hopper GPUs, which have become the standard for training and deploying advanced AI models. Notably, Nvidia has also entered the data center CPU market, shipping its first ARM-based processors, signaling its intent to compete directly with industry giants like Intel and AMD. Looking ahead, the launch of its Blackwell GPU architecture promises even greater AI capabilities, designed to power models with trillions of parameters and usher in a new era of next-generation intelligence.

23. Nvidia isn't relying on one area for growth. It's firing on all cylinders across multiple AI-related sectors, including data centers, automotive technology, gaming, cloud services, networking, and simulation. Every part of the business seems to be gaining momentum. Whether you're an investor focused on high-growth opportunities or someone looking for value and starting to see strong fundamental improvements, Nvidia has become a much more compelling stock to consider. It may be wise to get in before larger institutional investors potentially drive the price up.
