This news is shocking for those who were thinking that gold will become cheaper someday. If gold does indeed reach $0.00 per ounce, will it be a once-in-a-generation opportunity for investors or a major miss for those who delay? You'll understand why we're raising this question in just a moment. Hello, you are watching Bistak.
I am with you Arima Dwivedi. You all are very welcome to this episode of Sone Chandi. First of all, know the latest prices of gold and silver today i.e. 22nd December. 24 carat gold in India is priced at ₹134170 per 10 grams. Whereas 22 carat gold is around ₹1,22,990 to ₹1,23,000 per 10 grams. Talking about silver, this metal is trading at a price of ₹23,900 to ₹2,19,000 per kg.
However, a huge jump was definitely seen in the price of gold. As of December 22, gold was making an all-time high of around $4,400 per ounce. The main reason for this was the expectation of further interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve. A weak dollar and persistent safe haven demand. So far in the year 2025, gold has risen by about 67%, which in itself is considered an extraordinary rise.
However, the next target for gold, which has reached a price of more than Rs 1 lakh in India today, is now Rs 3 lakh. How? Let us tell you this in detail. World famous market strategist Ed Yadney made such a prediction about gold and stock market that caught the attention of the entire investment world.
Yadini says that by the end of this decade, i.e. by 2029, the price of gold could reach $00 per fraction. Now the interesting thing is that this is also his long term target for America 's major stock market index SNP 500. Yadney is considering this as part of his Rowing 2020 framework. In which he believes that this decade can be historic in terms of wealth creation.
Yani believes that gold still plays an important role in portfolios. He says that whenever there has been a rise in gold prices in the past , it has surprised the market more than its expectations. Even though gold and stock markets may appear to be moving in different directions in the short term, in the long term the trends of both remained largely similar.
This is why he is looking at the 10,000 mark for both gold and the SNP 500. The US stock market is considered positive. According to him, the SNP 500 index could reach the level of 7700 by the end of 2026. Currently this index is trading around 6800. That means they are seeing scope for further rise of about 10 to 13% from here.
Now, he also says the SNP 500 is heading for a third consecutive year of double-digit returns, and if conditions remain favorable, it could do so for a fourth year as well. Ani also expressed her opinion regarding India. According to him, 2025 could be a year of consolidation for the Indian stock market as it has seen tremendous growth in the last few years.
However, he also sees the possibility of improvement and new highs in 2026. Especially if there is any positive outcome in the trade talks with America, then they have preferred India for investment as compared to China because they find India's legal and corporate system more reliable. However, Aani's view on Artificial Intelligence (AI) also seems to be a bit balanced.
He believes that the AI theme may become more volatile in the future. Big tech companies, which were strong in different sectors till now, are competing directly with each other due to AI and this competition will increase the expenditure which can benefit not only the big names but also many other companies providing infrastructure and tech services.
Now if we look at all these sectors, then it is very important to look at the figure of $00 per ounce of gold from the Indian perspective. The picture is becoming even more shocking here. In the international market, 1 ounce of gold is approximately 31.1 grams. If gold reaches $10,000 per ounce, the price of 10 grams of gold will be around ₹3210.
Suppose at that time the dollar or rupee remained between ₹85 to ₹90, then 10 grams of gold would cost around Rs 2.7 to 2.9 lakh. After adding import duty GST, the price of physical gold in India can go up to Rs 3.1 to 3.3 lakh per 10 grams. That means gold will cross ₹3 lakh. This means that the gold which is available today for ₹7075,000 to ₹1 lakh, can become four times more expensive from today.
For those who have been waiting for gold to become cheaper for years, the forecast is a bit worrying. For investors who were investing in gold as a long-term asset, this could be a once-in-a-generation opportunity. Yardeni's thinking clearly indicates that the coming years could be very important for creating wealth in both gold and stock markets.
But what do you think and were you waiting for gold to become cheaper or were you hoping for slightly better returns? Please do share your opinion in the comment box. Please do tell us how you like this show of gold and silver. Keep watching the bed.
