let's bring in Caroline Wood senior markets correspondent here to uh help us break this down Caroline another price Target hike not shocking uh to any stretch of the imagination now uh but uh this one continues to perform and it doesn't seem like anybody's uh you know cautious on this name across the board right now there was an analyst yesterday that took it off their Catalyst watch now that the you know the the earnings are out and um computex is over but yes it largely bullish analyst commentary for this names and the the price targets just keep getting notched higher including this one from Rosen blat which implies almost 50% upside from current levels Rosen blad as you said raised their price Target on Nvidia to $200 a share that's up from $ 140 following the split kept a buy rating on shares kicking cesana out as the top uh price Target on the street yesterday they raised to 160 making them the top but now Rosen blat is Rosen blat sees nvidia's Hopper Blackwell and Ruben series driving value market share and what it calls one of silicon Valley's most successful silicon platform product Cycles they're also a beat about Nvidia getting more involved on the software side said the real narrative lies in the software that complements all the hardware goodness adding we anticipate the software aspect will significantly increase in the next decade in terms of overall sales mix with an upward bias to valuation due to sustainability said it sees Nvidia already in the $5 EPS plus level for calendar year 2020 6 so this new price Target is based on a multiple of 40 times priced to EPS meanwhile I should also note that Wells Fargo sees more upside ahead for NVIDIA as well although not as bullish as Rosen blat raised their price Target to 155 from 125 so more like 15% upside from current levels points to the Envy link and envy link switch as reasons for bullishness calls them a a key differentiator for AI and really cements their view that Nvidia competes at a different level so taking a look shares of Nvidia off their Highs but still up about 2 1/2% right now as you said hit a fresh record high just a bit ago um but uh you know you had mention up 170% year to date up over 200% over the past one year so really incredible run for NVIDIA and up over 20% just in June alone yeah Caroline Nvidia being up is like the weather in California right it's just every day just replay the same thing Invidia up 2% Invidia up 3% but hold on I'm not going to end with the same fervor here's the problem number one it's up 206% in the last 12 months that's obvious but Caroline there's 5 million Equity options coming off Friday because of the stock split the open interest in June Equity options 5 million so this is could get a little bumpy here the next 2 and A2 days even though everything else else points to really positive but when does competition start when does demand uh level when does the growth level all these questions doesn't look anytime in the future but 5 million open Equity options could change a tone Caroline Kevin if you asked me this yesterday I could have said well hey Nvidia was lower yesterday you're right in terms of Nvidia constantly being higher uh but today yesterday is the only mag 7 not in positive territory today it's the only mag 7 stock in positive territory so yes none of these analysts I think are saying it's a a clear line up there could be volatility but based on the fact that 91% of analysts have a buy rating on shares despite the fact that it has seen such impressive gains I would say that most of them would say any volatility to the downside would be a buying opportunity that being said we are still seeing analysts change their price targets following that 10 for one split the median price target for NVIDIA is 125 and it's Curr trading around 134 130 yeah 13426 so I do think that either analysts have to play catchup with some of these price targets following that split or yeah that would suggest that there there's not a whole lot of room to party here but uh based on the fact that the analysts are keeping the the buy rating and if you just take a look at the chart on refini of workspace taking a look at the price Target revisions it's just a clear line higher so uh I would venture to Guess that any one of these um analysts would say to buy any dips it's 50-day moving average is $99 uh yeah 9926 so uh getting a little stretched here with an RSI of 80 at this point all right great stuff thanks to Caroline Woods Senior markets correspondent here breaking down Nvidia
