SpaceX gets low-frequency range. What the hell does that even mean? Why is this so important to us? I'll tell you why. Because the old mobile companies are trembling with fear, kids. And some of them even became partners with SpaceX. The first thing you should know is that this is not sponsored by any of the companies I'm about to mention, okay?
Although I own a stake in SpaceX stock in various ways, both through post-IPO sales and other instruments, and that's above current levels, to be clear. And we've been pretty candid on the channel about our thoughts on SpaceX, haven't we ? We warned about IPOs, advised to be careful when buying after going public, because there is a risk of a takeoff and then a significant pullback.
That's exactly what happened. We thought that after the IPO the price would drop by 30% from the offering price. It fell by about 32%, I think . Of course, much more if you count from peak to trough. Since then, SpaceX's fundamentals have improved significantly. Personally, I think the "bottom" for the company is around 132.
If you can buy around 132, I'm actually bullish on SpaceX. I want this to be clearly understood. Then there are comments from people who don't always pay attention, but that's okay. Everyone has the right to a moment of weakness behind the keyboard. Come and say it to my face. So, where did we stop?
Oh, yes. T-Mobile. Good. So, a company like T-Mobile. I like T-Mobile, but I know they are ripping me off. And please don't sue me, bro. T-Mobile, this is half a compliment and half a rip-off warning. So, number one. T-Mobile is effectively giving away its cheap rates, which are the same in terms of speed , to another provider under a different brand.
I will now explain how it works. I don't want to confuse you, but I'll tell you what brand it is. And it can actually save you a ton of money. And this, I tell you, sounds like an advertisement. By the way, they did reach out about sponsorship on the channel, but I ignored them. Maybe it wasn't worth it , but I'm not sponsored by them.
But this will explain what is happening with this low frequency range. T-Mobile has a habit of charging around $140 a month for its trendy, stupid "magenta" plans or something . You know, you could pay 80. It all depends on how much data you need. I pay about $140 a month. I have five different mobile operators.
Just don't be like me. I'm a YouTuber, so I can't afford to be out of touch. So I have two active SIM cards in this phone. I currently have T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, Mint, and a line from Google, which I think is also T-Mobile, but I'm not sure. Because there is no longer an option to connect Sprint.
But anyway, I have almost all of them. I'll tell it like it is. Verizon —sorry, T-Mobile— is the best. The fewest dead zones and the fastest connection I've ever seen. The problem is that you pay 140 bucks. And most people don't need unlimited internet. T-Mobile knows this. They know they will sell their premium product for $140.
But this is, so to speak, a public tariff. And then they say, “Oh, you want a discounted rate? Okay, it will be $60 for seniors, or $80, or something else, okay?” Then they offer the same thing, supposedly with lower priority. I don't believe it because I downloaded videos through another provider and got the same speed as T-Mobile because it's the same damn tower and the same network.
It's all the same thing, and now you'll see SpaceX getting involved. Of course? Through workarounds, they say, "Hey, let's bring in those who want to pay $15 a month and only want 5GB." Good? That sounds like not much. I think you can get more. I don't know if the prices here are relevant. Maybe more, maybe less.
It seems like there's an unlimited option out there somewhere. But in principle, this is a budget segment, you understand? Something like a fare of up to $25, okay? I have it . I use it in parallel with T-Mobile . And do you know what it's called? This is my buddy Ryan Reynolds, Mint Mobile. #non-advertising.
I don't even think I have a referral link. It doesn't matter. The point is, it's the same thing . But if they were selling the fare for $15, everyone who pays $60 or $80 would switch to $15, and they would be out of business . T-Mobile would be in the air, baby. They don't want to be in the air. Some people want to be fooled.
Some people want to save their business. And then they call Sidney Sweeney. And then there's Elon Musk, who sees this as a corporate " wedge" deal. You all know me, right? My little startup Reinvest. I'm a big fan of what we call "wedge" deals. This is essentially when I can buy a house for, say, $750,000.
I know, it's a lot for a house . And I can invest a hundred thousand in it. I know, that's a lot. And then this is real estate worth one million and fifty thousand. So, I'm up 200 thousand, I'm up 20%. I can put a tenant there, rent it out long-term . I receive tax benefits. Boom , capitalism 101. I take an empty house that was a horrible ruin.
I provide a roof over their head, and they get the flexibility, the ability to rent and move whenever they want. Well, you know, within the terms of their lease, of course. So, I like "wedges" in real estate. Elon sees this as a "wedge" . This is Elon's genius. People don't understand this. He sees that there is an opportunity to rub these fools in the nose on a national scale .
And guess who knows it? Guess who knows Elon is going to gut them? T-Mobile. So guess who was one of the first dummies to partner with T-Mobile? Well, I meant SpaceX. One of the first fools to partner with SpaceX was T-Mobile. What a surprise! Because they're all trying their best to stay ahead and suck out, you know, all the juices that can be sucked out by selling you the same crap under a different brand.
That's all. It's no different than buying Kirkland salted nuts, stuffing your mouth with salted buttery nuts, or buying Planters salted buttery nuts. These are the same nuts, buttery salty nuts in your mouth. It's the same thing. Except that you paid $18 per pound for some and $12.99 per pound for others.
That's all. Same here . It's a phone call, it's a text message, it's data , they go to the tower. They would rather make a little money on Mint than lower prices and give everyone an advantage. This is called an oligopolistic monopoly. Of course? This is oligopoly, okay? A few small companies have that much control, and then they partner with smaller players to make sure they maintain control.
That's why T-Mobile is like a snake in the grass trying to make a deal with SpaceX. SpaceX is actually very smart, because Elon, well this guy, he's like, he's like 10-15 years ahead. Honestly, some of his ideas seem 100 years in the future. His ideas are not wrong . He just has a distorted sense of time.
This guy lives in a reality where time is distorted, and somehow this illusion creates cool products. So, I take my hat off to this illusion. Damn, sometimes I wish I had the same illusion. You know, I think about real things instead. For example, I think you will subscribe to Reinvest One, and together we will replace the Bloomberg terminal.
We will create a product so good that you will want to buy lifetime access to it. We will remove the concept of lifetime access if you don't have time to secure it. If you pin it, you will have lifetime access. Let's be frank about this. But hares, a terminal that includes real estate through Homes AI, ic for Consumers plan, a business plan, all in one product email us , or if you are a course participant , I encourage you to email us because if you are a course participant , we can recalculate your contribution and upgrade you to that level so that you also receive these benefits.
So just write to us at [email protected]. But you see, I have reasonable expectations, for example, to bankrupt Bloomberg, because I can't stand them and consider them scum. So I'm one of those people who believes that revenge is a dish best served cold. So, that's what we're building here. I invite you to join my completely realistic quest.
Now let's return to illusions and grandeur. So, SpaceX, that's actually very smart. SpaceX wants to get low-frequency spectrum for cellphones. What the hell is this low range? I hear about high-speed memory, and it sounds appealing. I hear that, I don't know, "high" sounds better than " low," right?
I don't want to be short. I'd rather be tall than short, right? But that's enough for you. Nobody wants to be short. Low range is needed to get through those damn windows. See them right there? Three windows right there. They can't be seen because someone decided to cover them with drywall, but there are three windows there.
How are you going to get cellular communication from low Earth orbit through these walls? You direct it with lasers at cell towers , and from those towers you distribute a spectrum at a low frequency that passes through these walls and irradiates me, Kevin. Do you know how much radiation is probably going through my brain right now?
Probably more radiation than you'd find on Pickaxe Mountain. This says a lot. So, low range is the type of frequency that can pass through all that fiberglass that I stuffed into this wall. Speaking of fiberglass: if you want a discount on glass today, use my affiliate code for Cording Stock. I'm just kidding.
I don't have an affiliate for Cording Stock , but the stock is down about 6.3% today. So, you know, they're having a little sale today. Just like Bitcoin. Michael Saylor, hashtag meekevin.com/btc. There is no such thing . I mean, you can try. See what happens. You know what? Try it. But, in any case , the essence of the deal is that SpaceX can use its Starlink satellite service to become a major mobile operator in the US.
They are trying to twist these " wedge" agreements. And, honestly, I would really like Elon to take over my phone service. And Apple is already collaborating with them . You see, Apple is smart. Do you know why Apple is collaborating with Elon? I want you to think about this for a moment. Apple wants to sell—I hate to say it, but if you're older, retired or something, how often do you upgrade your damn phone?
I don't know, once every 4 years? You don't want to reinstall apps. You don't have time for this because you're retired. And even though you have all the time in the world, you don't want to do it. You know who upgrades to a new device every year? These are the damn guys from 20 to 45 years old who say, "No , bro." If, if I'm 15% faster.
Bro , I might buy another Meet Kevin course. That's exactly like me. Of course? I'm going to buy an iPhone duo. And then I'll throw this iPhone 17 out the window. And maybe this one has been sitting on my desk for about two weeks now because I bought the latest Apple Watch Ultra, because for some reason I was convinced to buy one—oh, my heart rate jumped again.
84. In any case, for some reason I decided to get a new one, and I haven't even handed in the old one yet for the exchange program. People like me can continue to buy this garbage. But you know what would be the best advertisement? Connect some Starlink to this pulse. So, Apple has partnered with Starlink for direct space-to-phone communication.
But you have to sit like that, and it's kind of pointless. Even in the mountains you're like, "Oh, I need a direct view, and I'm stuck in a hole under a tree under two feet of snow." I would really need satellite communication right now to call for help. Oh, I can't, because I'm covered in snow and I can't see the satellites because I'm under these pine trees.
This sucks. It's a pity I didn't bring a shovel. Oh, wait, I took the shovel. It's right here in my backpack. Shorter. Good. Obviously, this is a brilliant move by Elon Musk. And the whole idea is how to reach consumers and take advantage of the gap that currently exists between the oligopoly of Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T.
And, to be honest , I can't stand them . I just installed Tesla solar panels and a wall battery. I transferred the money to them, although I was a little angry about one little thing that is worth making a video about, but not worth getting angry about. I'm just very picky. Okay. Okay, I, I...Will he get into trouble?
Oh, well, do it. Okay. I like the Powerwall. I have an Enphase system at home with German Q cell solar panels on the roof. I've had them for eight years now. I'm a big fan. Then I just got the panels from Tesla. I don't even know what these panels are. Probably the cheapest garbage from China. And then there's the Tesla Powerwall, but working with the app is great.
Everything is very polished. This is a great product. They were very good at editing. They are very good at service. They did a fantastic job. I have no complaints about Tesla, except for one small thing. And that's just me being a bit of a cranky jerk. Of course? When you install panels on a house, I hate lazy companies that do it like this .
And I understand why they do it. They need to maintain margins, but I hate it. The electrical panel, for example, is located here. I'm drawing it big so you can see. I know the electrical panel isn't that big. Okay? And then they run a cable duct from the battery and the disconnector to the solar panels.
I want him to go through the roof. But no. No, they should take a cable channel and do it like this. And then they're going to paint it. And I'm like: this looks idiotic. Sorry, we cannot waterproof your roof. Call a roofer. I'm too angry for that today. I have about 50,700 emails that I need to answer.
Oh my God, seriously, dude. Well, letters to the staff mailbox. Reinvest One staff is for people transitioning to this. This is madness. Look at this. It is 1:54. I have a million and a half things to do right now. And this is what awaits me in a moment . Is this help? What is this? Okay. So the bottom line is that acquiring the low-frequency band is very smart on Elon and SpaceX's part.
They are smart people. They are doing the right thing. This is the future. And that solves a bunch of people's whining about it never working indoors. And then Elon says...Elon, I just see him sitting on a throne with a beer and a gun, or honestly, I see him with a whiskey and a gun. Hold my whiskey.
And then he goes and buys 800 MHz spectrum, which breaks through walls. And this: "Yeah, take a bite." Okay, I can't take this anymore . Coupon expires tonight. See you later. Oh, man. . advertis.
