happy monday hope you had a good weekend despite what's going on in the markets quick shout out to my newest patron jonathan b thanks for choosing to support the channel speaking of the market at the time of recording tesla is down about eight percent on the day if you look at the chart you can see since november tesla has been much more volatile as it's had a negative 12 day three days where it was down seven and today down about eight percent compared to the daily candles prior to november it was a lot more docile and what did we just talk about tesla is and will always be subject to the macro environment a quick reminder nobody on youtube or anywhere for that matter has any idea what tesla's going to do in the next few weeks you need to have your own strategy for what it's worth yes i bought a few shares this morning however i will not be surprised if tesla dips below 800 per share in the coming weeks as i believe there might be more pain ahead once again just a guess for me i just dollar cost average over time in the long run it will all work out either have conviction in tesla as a stock or you don't and if you own tesla right now and you're anxious maybe you just don't have as much conviction as you thought or you have too much invested into tesla for you to handle emotionally that's okay you have to know yourself and just a fun fact over the last 95 days tesla with its struggles of its own has actually outperformed bitcoin to the tune of 90 bloomberg ran an article tesla now runs the most productive auto factory in america from the article last year's tesla factory in fremont produced an average of 8550 cars per week that's more than the toyota juggernaut in georgetown at 8400 and bmw in south carolina at 8 300.
so yes little old tesla fremont which was not purpose built for evs or for tesla is now the most productive auto factory in america with gigatexas on deck for today's sponsor we're going to mix it up a little bit and talk about gaming you might not know this but i was a gamer back in my college days i was actually elite at n64 smash bros and mario kart so i want to share raid shadow legends with you every now and then we all need to decompress and honestly a quick youtube search reveals this game is wildly popular as always you can use my link below to get your free starter pack worth around thirty dollars to check out raid for yourself on ios android or pc raid is a mission quest and rewards driven game meaning it's all about building growing and improving i've always liked games that involve strategy and leveling up characters and raid fits that mold so you know how tesla's final automotive boss could be 4680 production at scale well in raid the new clan boss is hydra which has six heads each is a boss battle on its own one of those is the head of mischief which can redirect your attacks onto other hydra heads making targeting this head rather challenging the head of wrath will triple its attack power after you hit it 15 times so stay alert out there now i personally think your champion's abilities are just as important as your overall level so choose your champions wisely that's another thing that i like about raid the wide range of champions and abilities you can unlock there's a ton happening in raid this month as they're releasing new champions and a brand new faction wars crypt for the ever popular faction the shadowkin there's also plenty of new year events and tournaments to look forward to once again check out the link in the description below to uploaded a 26 minute video doing basically a preview of the model s plaid teardown i've pulled out the highlights to give it to you if you don't have time to watch the full thing sandy wanted to cover the things he didn't like first so it was a short list he said he didn't like the wind noise sitting in the back seat this was due to one of the seals around the window not working essentially rendering the laminated glass and the dual pane useless in terms of reducing wind noise sandy also didn't like the seat belt receiver in the back they're basically too far tucked into the seat and he thinks there should be an extender so they stick out from the seat more so you can actually grab it and move it around making it easier to buckle the seat belt he also didn't like the angle of the back seat and he said sitting back there for too long caused his back to hurt it might just be a personal problem but he wasn't a fan of that in the video they did remove some parts under the hood and they saw that tesla actually has an integrated air tank for the air suspension that is built into a crossbar beam making it more structural and they thought this was an excellent thing sandy raved about the integration saying it's to die for meaning that the integration across departments at tesla to make something like this happen is excellent they also pointed out that the plaid had two separate radiators under the front four heat rejection and then the rest of the video they just laid out the plan for the tear down and the videos will be coming in the next few weeks so here we have it a brand new cyber truck spotted at giga texas and yes there are definitely some changes before we get into the specifics have a look at this short video of a walk around from some people at giga austin now there was no original audio for this video so i'm just going to go through and cover some of the changes so first up there are no door handles this could be a situation where you walk up with your phone your key card and the door opens automatically or perhaps there's a fingerprint or a sensor in the door pillar that you wave something around and then the door opens that way we'll have to wait and see officially there are now these large side mirrors which elon has said should be removable the wheels are different than we've seen in the past it might just be a situation where the arrow covers are removed in this video and maybe the final version will actually ship with the arrow covers on which a lot of people seem to prefer yes we still have that one gigantic wiper the windshield might be a little bit more rounded than prior iterations some people are saying there might be an instrument cluster due to a hump in the dash that you can see from some of these video angles and the repeater cameras in case you were wondering are actually in the fender so here's a side by side picture if you want to go ahead and pause and try to point out any differences that i may have missed doubled on twitter also shared this image of some people getting a close-up hands-on look of the truck cyber mike also shared this image on twitter of a different perspective for comparison one other thing it looks like the front fender area looks to be a bit more rounded off and less angled in which some people complained with the original design might be a safety hazard for pedestrians so rather than having this slope back so aggressively it's kind of sloped down a little more straight so let me know below do you like or dislike the changes to the cyber truck to be clear this does not have to be the final version as we are most likely a few months away from actual production but to that point we should get more information this coming wednesday on the q4 call some unexpected news here from sawyer tesla superchargers in north america to get a charging speed bump to 324 kilowatts from 250 later this year now yes this should mostly benefit the model s and x as their charging curve actually holds those 250 kilowatt rates for longer than the model 3 ny versions now there may be some small benefits for model 3 and y users but the bulk of this upgrade should impact the snx a little bit more sawyer added that this new 324 kilowatt rate will be for v3 only not v2 here we have the nikkei asia that came out with the report panasonic to start producing new tesla batteries in 2023.
however in a statement to reuters panasonic said this we are studying various options for mass production including a test production line we are establishing this business year we don't however have anything to announce at this time there was also this panasonic is reportedly expanding its japan plant to mass-produce the new batteries and previously told wall street journal test production is due to start march 2022.
that nikkei asia report said it was going to be a 705 million investment in the japan factory to produce these 4680 cells for tesla but they have also said they plan to produce this new form factor for other automakers as well the report also said panasonic was planning a production output of less than 10 gigawatt hours at the plant which is on par with tesla's cada road facility the pilot line and at a pack size of 60 kilowatt hours that would be enough 10 gigawatt hours for about 150 000 vehicles each year what's interesting to me here is that no one's really talking about what panasonic's doing with 4680s at gig in nevada so far this news just has to do with panasonic's line in japan nothing of what's going on at gigan nevada something to keep in mind there was some different wording used for the timing of when this production might start remember the test production was supposed to start in march of this year but this article from the nikkei said that it was going to be as early as 2023 so we could still be one plus year out from these actual production 4680 cells coming from panasonic out of japan for tesla anecdote here just something to watch alex said i just received this email from tesla insurance looks like spanish market will be available soon and here is the email itself we learned this morning that tesla is actually countersuing jp morgan over this warrant situation that we had covered a few months ago if you've forgotten jp brought a suit against tesla back in november claiming he was owed 162 million dollars for a set of warrants it had acquired as part of the bond sale tesla today said jp was not entitled to the billions of dollars they got in stock last year from those warrants check this out tesla is saying that the suit jp morgan brought is actually a feud that's going on between tesla and jp morgan it alleged the bank's actions amounted to bad faith and avarice jp morgan pressed its exorbitant demand as an act of retaliation against tesla both for it having passed over jp morgan in major business deals and out of senior jpmorgan executives animus toward elon musk this quote coming directly from tesla in the counter suit so in 2014 jp morgan got these warrants from tesla as part of that bond sale then elon tweeted about taking the company private and jp morgan was complaining that it affected the stock price and said that tesla owes them more money basically so tesla and elon not rolling over on this one bringing the countersuit either way however it plays out it's not overly material to tesla's business and to wrap it up for today nine to five mac reporting that apple has lost another key member of its self-driving efforts joe bass who was the head of the software engineering program management for apple's car team has recently left the company after seven years with his departure nearly the entire apple car management team in place just one year ago is gone dave scott jamie wado dave rosenthal and benjamin lyon all left in early 2021 doug field who ran the car team headed for the exits in september michael s who was in charge of hardware for apple's project soon followed then top engineers bolted bass had reported to field before moving under kevin lynch the new head of apple's car team i personally have not been holding my breath for anything apple automotive anytime in the next few years and yes turnover in the industry is common however this is a lot of turnover but that's going to wonderful
