Jim Rogers and Jimin is good to see you on skype in Singapore this morning do you think this tax plan is going to move markets I know I don't it's not nearly as much as we thought mr. Trump run you know he promised us a lot before certainly any tax cut is better than nothing Maria but it's not as much as he suggested last year well he's got a LLC and it passed through eight of 28 percent that's down from almost 40 percent for small business that's got to be some tax relief Jim for really who are the job creators in this country small and medium-sized businesses yes yes Murray of a week we knew that was coming I mean he's talked about it a long time he talked he said it was gonna be lower than that I repeat any tax cut is good but as you know markets anticipate and the markets for whatever reason have it ever anticipated most of this already what do you want to see in terms of policy coming out of Washington Jim what would investors want to see in order to actually feel like we can move the needle on economic growth well because taxes even more especially individual taxes he cuts them more throughout history when you cut taxes remember John Kennedy did it and we boomed for a while so cutting individual taxes and corporate taxes has always helped in the economy in the world mrs.

Thatcher did a lot of people have done it let me ask you about currencies obviously the dollar has been has been recovering a bit from a tough year being down while the Euro has soared what's your take in terms of the currency story right now well I'd rather own the US dollar than the Euro at this point the Euro the US dollar did have a correction this year but it had a very very strong couple of years Maria and anything it has a strong couple of years correct I own a lot of US dollars I expect it to go high the euro is gonna have more problems than yen is going to have more problems they're all going to have problems why why Jim oh why well part of the Euro is gonna be continued to be hit with with secession movements you see what's happening in Spain right now you see what's happy in Kurdistan it's not Europe but at least you know the same sort of mentality it just everywhere the yen yes got gigantic debt problems Maria the Japanese central bank now has owns 40% of all Japanese debt they have been buying staggering amounts of debt and printing a lot of money they own huge numbers of Japanese stocks and ETFs they print money put it in the market that cannot go on forever I'm not the only one who knows there's a problem developing yeah and meanwhile Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe a is expected to dissolve Parliament slower house on Thursday he says he wants to do a snap election in an effort to take advantage of improved party ratings after polling suggests that Ava's Liberal Democratic Party has the most support Jim what's your take on this snap election what does that mean through the Japanese and global markets as you know nearly every snap election in the last year including our flowers wasn't a snap election but all new elections have caused problems for the establishment this one will too mister Ave says he's going to raise taxes I would suspect the lady who running against him moves a very smart lady he's going to make him look pretty foolish in the end and tell me how you would allocate capital right now I understand you're worried about exchange-traded funds well I'm worried about the currency market since we're talking about the currency markets I see they're going to be problems for the yen I see they're gonna be problems with the Euro the dollar will go higher as a result and whenever you have a lot of turmoil in currency markets it usually leads to problems in equity markets so I mean I own equities I certainly own a lot of Asian equities you know the Chinese markets down 50 percent from its all-time high America is at an all-time high Japan is down 50% I'd rather own markets that are down than ones that are up so I mean Germany Merkel just run a one a fourth charm how do you allocate money today look around the world just quickly tell us where you would put money in equities today if anywhere China Japan Korea Russia go to Asia don't go to the west all right we will leave it there Jim Rogers always a pleasure to see you sir Thank You Marie however the Dow Industrials this Tuesday morning we're back to 22,300 staying on the markets now I want to introduce you to a very famous guy Jim Rogers with Rogers Holdings now Jim has been very bearish on this mark welcome back Jim good to see you sir very bearish indeed you've been outspoken on this so I got two questions first of all when is this bear market gonna hit to it I will tell you the answer that there's a program on Fox Business called Barney & Co you watch that program and you will find out everything you need to know including when the next bear market is coming go tell the show watch it I haven't seen him in a long time but he's a smart guy okay so you tell me when is this bear market coming that you are predicting well I would but first we gotta make sure it's clear because some people get it garbled what I have said is we're going to have another bear market now but Stuart you don't have to believe me because mrs.

Yellen says we're never going to have financial problems in the United States again so if you believe the central bank stopped listening to me now well what I have said is we're going to have another bear market eventually and when we do it's gonna be the worst in our lifetimes Stuart the problem in 2008 was caused by too much debt well since then the debt has skyrocketed everywhere in the world all I said was the next bear markets gonna be the worst in our lifetimes okay Ray Dalio hedge fund manager he says you should put at least five to ten percent of your money into gold do you think that's a good tactic bearing in mind the bear market that you see as coming Jim well I think everybody should own some gold and silver as an insurance policy of nothing else I do I won't go for many years haven't bought any serious goal in a while but if there are people who don't own gold you need to start buying some gold and silver to accumulate a position it's an insurance policy Stuart you have fire insurance you hope your house never burns down but if it does you're glad you have insurance you moved to Asia many years ago as I recall because you believe that Asia was the future he's I believe you coming to us now from Singapore is that correct so you're still in Asia I'm in Singapore as we speak I did move to Singapore ten years ago I wanted my children to know Asia and to speak fluent Mandarin because in their lifetime Asia is going to be the most important part of the world and that's not going to change in their lifetime where America is going down and Asia is going up I don't want to be too simplistic but is that how you see it what it's not what I said well certainly on a relative basis every word you just said is correct Asia is rising and it has been rising for 30 yea 40 years as you well know and that's going to continue now America on a relative basis compared to that is certainly going to be in decline Stuart America is the largest debtor nation in the history of the world right now no country in history that's gotten itself into this position has God not without a problem a crisis or a semi crisis I hope not but it's always happened that way you know just do it I also I always have to make sure you know I gotta be plenty of problems in Asia as America grew we had fifteen depressions we had a horrible civil war we had very few human rights we had very little rule of law I mean we were a mess but we had an extremely successful couple of hundred years Jim Rogers you are the most fascinating guys in the world of money and we thank you very much for being on the show today you sir can come back any time thanks Jim we'll see you soon Thank You Stuart yes sir thank you Jim Rogers and Jim and it's good to see you on skype in Singapore this morning do you think this tax plan is going to move markets I know I don't it's not nearly as much as we thought mr.

Trump you know he promised us a lot before certainly any tax cut is better than nothing Maria but it's not as much as he suggested last year well he's got a LLC and it passed through eight of 28 percent that's down from almost 40 percent for small business that's got to be some tax relief Jim for really who are the job creators in this country small and medium-sized businesses yes yes Maria but we knew that was coming I mean he's talked about it a long time he's talked he said it was gonna be lower than that I repeat any tax cut is good but as you know markets anticipate and the markets for whatever reason have it ever anticipated most of this already what do you want to see in terms of policy coming out of Washington Jim what would investors want to see in order to actually feel like we can move the needle on economic growth well if he cuts taxes even more especially individual taxes he cuts them more throughout history when you cut taxes remember John Kennedy did it and we boomed for a while so cutting individual taxes and corporate taxes has always helped in the economy in the world mrs.

Thatcher did a lot of people that is expected to dissolve Parliament slower house on Thursday he says he wants to do a snap election in an effort to take advantage of improved party ratings after polling suggests that avez Liberal Democratic Party has the most support Jim what's your take on this snap election what does that mean for the Japanese and global markets as you know nearly every snap election in the last year including ours wasn't a snap election but all new elections have caused problems for the establishment this one will too mr.

hobby says he's going to raise taxes I would suspect a lady who running against he moves a very smart lady she's gonna make him look pretty foolish in the end and tell me how you would allocate capital right now I understand you're worried about exchange-traded funds well I'm worried about the currency market since we're talking about the currency markets I see there gonna be problems with the yen I see there gonna be problems with the euro we'll go higher as a result and whenever you have a lot of turmoil in currency markets it usually leads to problems in equity markets so I mean I own equities I certainly own a lot of Asian equities you know the Chinese markets down 50 percent from its all-time high America's at an all-time high Japan is down 50% I'd rather own markets that are down than ones that are up so I mean Germany Merkel just run a one a fourth term how do you became money today comes in the United States again so if you believe the central bank stopped listening to me now well what I have said is we're going to have another bear market eventually and when we do it's gonna be the worst in our lifetimes Stewart the problem in 2008 was caused by too much debt well since then the debt is skyrocketing everywhere in the world all I said was the next bear markets gonna be the worst in our lifetimes okay Ray Dalio hedge fund manager he says you should put at least five to ten percent of your money into gold do you think that's a good tactic bearing in mind the bear market that you see as coming Jim well I think everybody should own some gold and silver as an insurance policy of nothing else I do I've owned gold for many years haven't bought any serious goal in a while but if there are people who don't own gold you need to start buying some gold and silver to accumulator positions it's an insurance policy Stewart you have fire insurance you hope your house never burns down but if it does you're glad you have insurance you move to Asia many years ago as I recall because you believe that Asia was the future he's I believe you coming to us now from Singapore is that correct so you're still in Asia I'm in Singapore as we speak I did move to Singapore ten years ago I wanted me look around the world just quickly tell us where you would put money in equities today if anywhere China Japan Korea Russia go to Asia don't go to the west all right we will leave it there Jim Rogers always a pleasure to see you sir Thank You Marie I for the Dow Industrials this Tuesday morning we're back to 22,300 staying on the markets now I want to introduce you to a very famous guy Jim Rogers with Rogers Holdings now Jim has been very bearish on this Mike welcome back Jim good to see you sir very bearish indeed you've been outspoken on this so I got two questions first of all when is this bear market gonna hit to it I will tell you the answer that there's a program on fox business called Barney & Co you watch that program and you will find out everything you need to know including when the next bear market is coming go tell the show watch it I haven't seen him in a long time but he's a smart guy okay so you tell me when is this bear market coming that you are predicting well I gotta make sure it's clear because some people get it garbled what I have said is we're going to have another bear market now Stewart you don't have to believe me because this is Yellin says we're never going to have financial problem let me ask you about currencies obviously the dollar has been has been recovering a bit from a tough year being down while the Euro has soared what's your take in terms of the currency story right now well I dread the only u.s.
