01. Hey, hello everyone. Welcome back to my stock world . One small thing, I'm actually very sick . I got strep throat (throat infection). My voice is not good at all. So, I'm sorry if my voice is a little off or my energy is low in this video , but I'm getting there somehow . It's almost midnight now , so I'm recording very late .

02. But, yes, I wanted to make this video for you , because it was a shocking development that Warren Buffett sold his largest holding, Apple shares, over the past year . He is selling them in huge quantities . According to new SEC filings , Berkshire Hathaway is still selling Apple shares. However, these new filings also reveal that Buffett has purchased two new stocks and increased his investment in three other stocks he already owns.

03. So, you know we definitely need to discuss this. I'll give a brief summary of Apple's sales, and then share my thoughts on two of the stocks Buffett bought recently and three that he raised. Moreover, as per the method we do on this channel, I will also rank all these stocks . But let's not waste any time.

04. Let's get straight to the point . First, Buffett sold 115 million Apple shares in the first quarter of this year . Then 390 million in Q2, and now an additional 100 million shares were sold in Q3, which means a total decrease of about 70% . At today's share price , this is equivalent to Apple sales of over $150 billion .

05. To be clear, despite all the sales , Apple is still Buffett's number one holding . It is worth around $70 billion and represents around 25% of his total portfolio. But these sales in Apple stock have been massive . I think the main reason for this is that Apple shares have already risen exponentially , recently reaching new highs and becoming the most valuable stock in the world with a market cap of $3.8 trillion .

06. Now look, I also own a little Apple stock and I really like how strong and profitable their business is. But when you're trading at half a trillion dollars more than Microsoft, and more than a trillion dollars more than Google and Amazon , I completely understand wanting to take profits at those levels.

07. In fact, if I were given the choice at today's prices, I would prefer to take any of those three remaining stocks over Apple. So, this doesn't surprise me , and I'm talking about Amazon, Microsoft, and Google . Therefore, it would not surprise me to see some profit-taking at these levels . It 's a bit shocking how much Buffett actually sold, which I think is a bet he made that the overall market is too high right now , as Berkshire has increased its cash reserves by 17% in the past two quarters alone to over $320 billion .

08. This seems to me to mean that Buffett wants to have a huge cash reserve ready to buy almost any company he wants or to invest that money there if the stock market falls back to more attractive levels . However, Berkshire Hathaway has made some recent acquisitions . This has just been reported to the SEC .

09. So, let's take a look at the five biggest acquisitions they just made and go from smallest to largest positions . Now, the first of them is actually a new addition to the portfolio. It is owned by Pool Corp, ticker symbol POOL , which was acquired for over $150 million. Now, if you've never heard of this, they are a very large wholesale swimming pool and supplies services company.

10. In fact, technically they are the largest company in the world, not only selling pools , but also installing, maintaining, and repairing them, as well as selling all the supplies needed by pool owners . You know, it might not be the most exciting business . But being a market leader in such a specialized field has brought the company a lot of success.

11. Unfortunately , by dominating your market so much , you can be very damaging to the macro economy , which can really affect your business when you are doing well in your niche. We saw firsthand how their sales increased due to the stimulus cash that was put into people's hands at the beginning of the pandemic, which made it easier for them to fix up their homes, build a new swimming pool, or improve existing ones.

12. But once that stimulus cash ran out, we were left with high inflation and high interest rates , causing the economy to clearly collapse. People are suffering more and P's revenue fell by 11% last year , and their sales are expected to fall by another 4% this year . You know, there's some twist to this .

13. I would say this is correct when it comes to a Warren Buffett-style value dividend stock, because if the price goes down, it can reduce the valuation and increase the dividend, which are the things Buffett wants in his stocks. We always look at value, dividends, and similar factors in Buffett stocks .

14. So being volatile and having to do with the macro economy may not be such a bad thing. While it has a strong business as a market leader , the other two variables here are really lacking in terms of valuation and dividend . Even though the stock price has recently fallen by about 40% , their forward P ratio is still 60 to 80% higher than the sector.

15. Although the dividend has excellent growth indicators, its yield is just under 1.4%. 4% means it could take many years to grow at the same rate as inflation. So, I personally don't like this much, friends. I recently released a video on the best dividend stocks for 2025 , in which I mentioned several value dividend stocks that are much more attractive than this one.

16. I'll be nice and keep it in third place for now, because we'll have to see what else is on this list, but it's not a stock I'd buy . As for the second purchase , there's another stock Buffett has recently bought that's been getting a lot of attention lately , namely pizza giant Domino's ( ticker symbol DPZ), which he bought for about $550 million last quarter .

17. When it comes to the Domino's business , I try to stay away from fast food retail stocks like this one , because this market is so competitive and crowded that it can be difficult to keep track of everything that's happening there. However, on a personal note , I can say that I am a fan of Domino's and their brand .

18. Of all the fast food pizza shops, Domino's is my favorite. I like the taste better than Pizza Hut or Little Caesars , and the online app is very easy to use, where I can customize anything to my liking . I usually get a handmade pan pizza with Alfredo sauce, mushrooms, chicken, and sometimes pineapple.

19. This sounds like a Pizza Hut ad , but I mean Domino's. I've used their services in the past, and it was a good experience. Plus, they also give out a lot of coupons, which makes the price seem a little lower. So, I really liked my overall experience with Domino's, that's just my personal opinion. But, I don't think I'm the only one who thinks that , because Domino's has achieved the number one market share as a franchisor.

20. With a market size of approximately $95 billion worldwide, they have a good presence in over 90 international markets, so there is potential for further growth in the future. Additionally, their new initiative will see them open another 5,000 new stores in the coming years . This helps them maintain their growth rate compared to their competitors, as many competitors have been declining in recent times .

21. However, while Domino's is performing well compared to its peers , its overall growth as a company is, in my opinion , too low to justify the current valuation. Now, the stock is down slightly from its peak , losing about a quarter of its value . But even here, it still looks 30 to 50% more expensive than the sector based on PE and PEG ratios .

22. This is not enough for a business that is only growing sales by a mid- single- digit percentage on average . Also, a small dividend yielding less than 1.5% is not attractive. However, it is true that that dividend has at least some impressive growth metrics . So maybe Buffett is looking for another market leader with a growing dividend, like Poole ?

23. But as I said before , I think there are better options on the market for whatever we're talking about here . For that reason, I'm giving them third place , giving them a little more priority than pool because I buy at least occasionally at Domino's. I want to eat healthy . So, you know, Domino's is not something I eat often .

24. But, you know, the fact that I've used it in the past, compared to something like a pool , makes it a little easier to track and understand the business and their activities, because I do n't actually have a pool. Anyway, let's move on . Although I didn't like the first two stocks that much, luckily the third purchase was one I owned myself, which is VeraSign, whose ticker symbol is VRSN.

25. He bought another 2,34,000 shares in this regard, which now represents a little less than 1% of the portfolio, valued at over $2.5 billion. And yes, I really like it. VeriSign is the world's largest Internet top-level domain provider. It basically manages and secures the infrastructure behind .com, .net, .edu, and other similar domains, which are offered to other companies for a fixed fee .

26. It's not a stock that's often discussed in the mainstream, but it's a great business overall and I think it's very stable and will never go out of business . Therefore, their financial situation is generally strong and registers consistent single- digit growth every year . While their growth rates may not be exceptional enough to skyrocket the stock in the future , I think they are at least reliable enough to make the stock perform well in the long run .

27. Additionally, due to the recent 20% drop, it is trading cheaper than its own 5-year average and the sector median , which I think is very attractive for a proven leader like this . If I were to be too picky about VeriSign, I would probably say that it's a slightly boring stock for a business that doesn't pay dividends.

28. But based on what's available , I think it's a good value stock to hold for the long term . So, for that reason I am putting this in second place. Okay, friends. Now we only have two final purchases left . In fourth place, there is another one that has been the subject of some recent discussion, namely SiriusXM, ticker symbol SI.

29. By increasing its shares by 12 million , the stake was increased to over $2.8 billion and is now worth a little more than 1% of Buffett's entire portfolio . But unfortunately , one of the main reasons it's so talked about is because of how much this stock has fallen in recent years , and I can understand the interest in it.

30. Having been negative over the past decade , losing about 70% of its value from its peak , and remaining at a very low valuation by any measure , it has increased its dividend yield to more than 4%. Looking at all this, it generally seems like a fascinating thing to look into. However, this is only possible if the business is stable enough for the stock to recover in the long term.

31. That may be so , but personally I do n't have much faith in Sirius. Now, you know the business here. That is the only name worth talking about in the satellite radio segment. After Sirius merged with XM Radio in 2008, and later acquired Pandora, many thought it would become an entertainment powerhouse .

32. Especially in those days when Pandora was popular, many people used it to listen to music for free . In addition to this, there was Sirius XM, which was always a premium radio service with better quality. It often came bundled with infotainment systems in new cars. So, this was a unique thing that seemed like the future for radio .

33. Those were the days when these services were very popular . But currently , the market has shifted towards online streaming giants like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and China's Tencent Music. Friends, these are some of the largest companies in the world. So, they can subsidize their streaming services to gain market share .

34. That's exactly what happened over the past few years. Statista doesn't include Sirius statistics on this page because they consider satellite radio a separate market, but I would view it as direct competition. In comparison, Spotify currently has over 250 million subscribers , with the rest also around the 100 million mark .

35. But Sirius, on the other hand, only has about 40 million paid subscribers . And that's only when you count Pandora. So, it's half the size of its competitors , and Pandora has also been losing millions of subscribers in recent years. Overall, their financial situation is in a bad shape, with not only revenue declining for three consecutive years, but profits are also unstable.

36. Last quarter, their free cash flow dropped more than 60% , which I believe was largely due to their recent reorganizations with Liberty Media . But overall, it seems like a very uncertain business, as well as fierce competition , which makes it very difficult to predict where they will be in the long run.

37. So, I'm putting them at the bottom here in fourth place . Because I have at least some confidence in the rest of the businesses . Anyway, now we have the last buy left on the list, which is Buffett stock, which I've covered many times in the past, and I don't like it much . And I feel really sick now too .

38. So, I'm going to talk about this really quickly . I'll finish this for you very quickly and end this video. But it's oil giant Occidental Petroleum, whose ticker symbol is Oxy, that he's been buying constantly, increasing his stake to more than $12 billion and worth more than 4.5% of his portfolio .

39. But as I've said many times, Buffett received special shares and dividends from this stock for helping to buy another oil giant, Anadarko . This is what made it possible for Buffett to receive huge dividends from this stock, even when dividends were cut for common shareholders. I have no problem with Oxy , but in my opinion , it's a very boring oil stock with above-average valuation and a low dividend yield of less than 2%.

40. For that price , if I wanted to buy an oil stock, I would buy something like Chevron that pays a dividend of at least 4.5%. So, I'm ranking it lower than Sirius because Oxy is so expensive . This concludes our final rankings . Only Vereen is at the top, and then there are a lot of stocks that , in my opinion, are just boring legacy companies, and I think Buffett sees some value in these .

41. But I think he's probably living in the past a bit and would be better off buying more growth-oriented companies for the future . But that's just my opinion . I can't go against the great Buffett and I still like tracking his decisions. I think it's fun to watch , so I hope you enjoy this video too .

42. Anyway, let me know if you agree with my rankings. If you have any thoughts to share , or agree with anything I said , let me know below. I hope you are all well , my friends . And yes, if I can't meet you , Merry Christmas to you, Happy Holidays. I wish you a very happy new year , and I hope you are all well, my friends.

43. I wish you all the best , and see you again in the next video . Thank you for your support. Okay, everyone, be careful. Bye-bye .
