01. Ray Dalio's portfolio for 2026, under stagflation conditions, has a strategy that I think will be useful for every viewer of this channel. The market in 2026 did not give anyone a quiet week. Duties have increased. Trade negotiations were either broken or resumed. There are real wars going on, looming in the background of every headline, especially in Iran.

02. And JP Morgan still estimates the probability of a recession at 40%. It was expected that inflation would have slowed down by this time. Instead, it turned out to be stable—a word that makes economists nervous, because persistent inflation combined with slowing growth has a name, and that name is stagflation.

03. This is an environment where almost no one knows how to invest because textbook advice stops working . Stocks don't like stagflation. Bonds don't like her either . Cash quietly loses value while you hold it. So today we'll take a look at a portfolio created by one of the most influential investors of our time, Ray Dalio, and look at it through the lens of stagflation in 2026— how it's constructed and whether it holds up in the conditions we're living in now.

04. But before we start, if you found this useful, please like and subscribe. This is, in fact, the only thing that allows such a channel to continue operating. Every time you do this, YouTube shows the video to more people who are trying to figure out the same thing you are: how to prepare for what's actually happening in the economy, rather than reacting after the fact .

05. Now let's focus for a moment on Ray Dalio himself, because his track record is the main reason why this portfolio is getting so much attention. He is the founder of Bridgewater Associates, the largest hedge fund in the world, managing assets worth over $150 billion. He founded the firm in 1975 in a two-bedroom apartment and built it into a fund that has generated more profits for clients than almost any other hedge fund in history—over $55 billion in net income.

06. Time magazine named him one of the most influential people in the world, and his book Principles has sold over 4 million copies . When Ray Dalio talks about how to structure a portfolio in times of uncertainty, people listen. And 2026 is exactly the year when people are looking for such advice. So, the foundation of his approach is what he calls the “four seasons.” Cast aside the noise, don't listen to headlines, political squabbles, or even daily fluctuations.

07. The economy actually only ever does one of four things. Growth is accelerating, growth is slowing, inflation is rising, or inflation is falling. Different assets perform well in different seasons. Stocks rise when the economy grows. Long-term bonds perform well when economic growth slows. Gold and commodities benefit when inflation accelerates.

08. Short-term bonds serve as a hedge when inflation declines. The problem is that no one—not Dalio, not the Fed, not anyone else in the world—knows for sure what season will come next. And this uncertainty is, in fact, the main characteristic of the market now. So instead of trying to predict, the idea is to create a tool that will stand up to any season.

09. This is what such a briefcase actually looks like. 30% in stocks, for example, in a general market fund. It is the engine of growth when the economy expands. 40% in long-term bonds. This is the part that is supposed to protect you when economic growth slows. 15% in medium-term bonds. This is a stabilization buffer, less sensitive to changes in interest rates than long-term assets .

10. 7.5% in gold and 7.5% in a broad basket of commodities. This half of the portfolio is the most important in a year like this because it is a special inflation hedging tool. This is a part created specifically for the conditions we are currently in, when prices are not falling and economic growth is slowing.

11. Dalio himself publicly stated: “These proportions don’t have to be exact. "This is a simplified, retail investor-friendly version of what Bridgewater does with leverage and more complex tools." So treat these percentages as a framework model, not as dogma. There are two large-scale forces changing the allocation of capital for investment right now.

12. This is important because it explains why so many people seek this approach instead of guessing. For the first time in history, nearly three million people with access to U.S. markets will inherit a million dollars or more over the next decade. This shift is called the " great transfer of wealth." Many of those who receive these funds have never traded .

13. They grew up watching sports. Many of them are used to taking risks through sports betting, and now they want to invest real money in something more substantial. Most people who receive money work outside the financial sector. Even someone who makes $150,000 a year or more may not have any experience managing a portfolio because it was never their job.

14. At the same time, the US has a debt of over $39 trillion— a figure that, by almost all historical precedents, should already be creating real pressure on the system. And yet the country continues to function and markets are making new highs, largely thanks to the development of AI, while much of the real economy quietly weakens against the backdrop of these high-profile indicators.

15. In such circumstances, the arguments in favor of a portfolio designed to survive different economic seasons simultaneously become much stronger. That's why I created the Self-Advisors Early Alerts SMS newsletter to enable people to monitor their portfolio for about 5 minutes a day without financial education.

16. I'm currently offering a free report on the top six AI stocks for July. You can get it at selfadvisors.com/newsletter. Just click on the link in the description or in the pinned comment right now. Enter your email and it will be sent directly to you. Now let's get back to the mechanics of why this portfolio is built the way it is.

17. Because a structure with a large portion of bonds always confuses people, many see 55% in bonds and consider it too conservative. This reaction ignores the real logic behind it. Let's take a standard 60/40 portfolio: 60% stocks and 40% bonds. On paper, it looks balanced, but stocks are about three times more volatile than bonds.

18. So even with 40% in bonds, over 90% of the portfolio's actual risk still falls on stocks . Bonds barely affect the level of risk, although they occupy a significant part of the capital. Dalio's idea was to stop balancing dollars and start balancing risks. Since bonds are much more stable than stocks, you need to allocate a much larger amount to them so that their contribution to risk is equal to that of stocks.

19. That's why the share of bonds in the portfolio is 55%. This is called risk parity. And this is a completely different issue than ordinary diversification. Conventional diversification asks whether you are sufficiently spread across asset types. Risk parity asks whether you are truly balanced with respect to different economic outcomes.

20. Does it actually work and does it stand the test, especially in a stagflation year like 2026 ? The historical performance of growth stocks is truly impressive. During the 2008 financial crisis, the S&P 500 index fell 37%, while this portfolio fell about 5%. During the 2020 COVID crash, stocks fell about 33% in 5 weeks, the fastest decline in history.

21. This portfolio only fell about 6%. If you look at a 43- year period, 88% of those years were profitable. Only five losing years out of 43 compared to seven losing years for the S&P 500 over the same period. When this portfolio fell, it recovered in an average of 15 months, as opposed to 38 months for the S&P 500 .

22. These are real numbers that prove that the strategy really works as claimed during growth-induced crashes. But the most revealing chapter here is 2022, because it was the closest to the modern test of stagflation. And this is the most relevant comparison with what we are observing now on the eve of 2026 .

23. Inflation rose rapidly. The Fed raised rates aggressively and quickly. And long-term bonds, the largest share of this portfolio at 40%, have been hit hard. Stocks and bonds fell together, in the same direction, and at the same time— this is the only scenario the structure is not adapted to. The portfolio showed its worst drawdown in history—over 20%, which took about 3 years to fully recover.

24. There is also a long-term tailwind that is worth knowing about. Interest rates peaked at over 21% in December 1980 and declined steadily over the next four decades. The 55% bond portfolio has been on the rise all this time , and this largely explains why 2008 and 2020 went so smoothly. 2022 was the first real-world example of what happens when this wind changes direction, which is important because many are building portfolios in a world where this 40-year factor is no longer a guarantee.

25. Gold carries its own lesson. It is perceived as a protective asset during a crisis, as a remedy against inflation. But gold peaked in 1980 and didn't set a new all-time high until 2008—28 years of stagnation. That's a long time to hold an asset while watching everything else around you grow. Most people can't wait that long.

26. So where is the money actually quietly flowing now? After all, this year's headlines are almost entirely devoted to AI. TSMC just reported a 77.4% jump in quarterly profit thanks to AI demand and is planning capital expenditures of $200 billion. Global semiconductor capital spending is expected to reach approximately $1 trillion by 2030.

27. Nvidia, AMD, and Alphabet are competing to supply new AI chips to data centers. This is a big story. The quiet story beneath all this is that AI infrastructure requires vast and growing amounts of electricity, and that demand must flow through power grids, whether or not it is talked about every day.

28. This is where the great wealth of the new generation is actually concentrated now. A combination of new money looking for direction and old money looking for production. both converge on parts of the market related to real physical infrastructure, rather than the most high-profile AI stocks. And that's exactly why a service like Self-Advisor's Early Alerts exists: so you don't have to wonder where the "quiet " money is actually going while everyone else is looking at obvious names like Nvidia.

29. Get a free report on the top six AI stocks for July at self-advisor.com/newsletter. All you need is your email— just click the link in the comments right now. The market always shows strength somewhere in a certain place. Even when the overall trend seems unstable, even when the headlines scream about inflation, debt, and the chances of recession, sometimes that strength shows up in obvious places.

30. Big tech companies, AI chip manufacturers, megacorporations that everyone is watching anyway. Other times, it appears where it is least expected. Quietly growing oil producers, industrial companies that no one talks about, or energy companies that have found themselves at the center of the AI powering story without getting the attention that chipmakers have.

31. This is worth thinking about, because it is a real argument in favor of stagflationary asset allocation, rather than chasing the sector that is the loudest this week. You spread your funds across different corners of the market so that you have access to strength wherever it arises, instead of trying to guess it in advance.

32. If this strategy is close to you, then the Early Alerts SMS newsletter from Self-Advisor was created for this very purpose. 5 minutes a day to stay informed about where market power is really building. And a free report on six AI stocks for July is available at self-advisor.com/newsletter. Right now.

33. Just enter your email address and it's yours. And if you want to receive notifications yourself, click "learn more" after you receive the report. You can click on the link in the pinned comment. I pinned it under this video as soon as I posted this entry. So, finally, let's talk about one specific company that demonstrates this idea of rotation in practice.

34. PG&E, ticker PCG. It's easy to miss because it's not an AI company in the usual sense. It's a California electric and gas company, but it stands squarely in the path of the AI energy demand story, as every data center built by AI labs and hyperscalers must be connected to the grid. And so it happens that PG&E serves the power grid in a significant portion of one of the most AI-rich regions in the country.

35. The company just raised its 2026 core earnings forecast to a range of $1.62-$1.66 per share, about 5% above last year's average. And it has recently received several bullish technical signals, including breaking above its 20- day and 50-day moving averages after a 2.9% one-day gain in early July. All of this doesn't make headlines the way chipmaker stocks do .

36. And that's the whole point. This is what it looks like when capital quietly flows into the less visible part of AI development instead of the obvious one. A utility company that supplies energy instead of a company that manufactures a chip. It won't always be PCG. And next month it won't necessarily be utilities.

37. These could be raw materials. These may be trade names. This could be a completely different market sector. Nobody is following this . A skill worth developing is not choosing one right action. It's the ability to spot where power is quietly building up before it becomes the headline everyone else chases.

38. And this is the main idea of Ray Dalio's "four seasons", applied to 2026. Not trying to predict the right season, but taking a broad enough stance so that wherever the force appears , you are already there. Thank you for watching. And if this was helpful to you , subscribe so you don't miss the next video.
