I want to discuss this call from Tom Lee because I find what he says very interesting. So, he spoke at the Closing Bell and announced a forecast for the S&P 500: 8,200 points by the end of the year. At the time of his words, the index was around 7,600 , about 3% below its August 13 record of 7,800. The last few sessions have been a bit tricky, have n't they?

But growth to 8200 requires about 8% in three and a half months, which is quite realistic. Some might say that's overly optimistic, but I do n't find it surprising, especially if the S&P 7 or AI companies' profits continue to grow as they have in recent years. This figure is nothing new for Tom Lee.

He simply confirms his overall bullish stance. He started the year with a forecast of 7,700. Then he raised it to 8,000. He outlined a range to 8,400 or even 8,800 if the multiples and earnings projections for 2027 support the math behind the 8,000 target, which is based on a 20x multiple of $400 per share in 2026.

For 8200, you need a little more profit, a higher multiplier, or both. Stay with me, because this is a story about crypt. I just want to give some context to the stock market. So , the thesis remained unchanged. The AI trade is not over yet. Magnificent 7 stocks are waking up again after a major correction, which is a normal and healthy process.

Cash is waiting on the sidelines to join the rally. And the fourth quarter promises to be one of the strongest periods in our lives as we transition into 2027. These are the words of Tom Lee. It still leaves room for a more significant pullback due to leverage, margin debt, and the hype surrounding the IPO.

His optimism never meant that he considered the risks to be gone. Tom Lee had many failures, but also many successful predictions. The predictions for crypto were quite disappointing. His stock predictions are completely reliable. Moreover, this statement was not made under calm conditions. Markets rose despite risks of conflict over Iran, higher oil prices, inflation concerns, rising bond yields and expectations of a Fed rate hike.

This is more of a market clearing than a threat. The fact that the index is only a few percent off its high against this backdrop...and after a volatile September—is also part of his argument, by the way. The market has already absorbed a lot of bad news without fundamentally breaking down, which is an optimistic signal .

Wall Street's year-end forecasts remain broadly positive, mostly centering just below Tom Lee's numbers. Several large companies, such as Goldman, Citi, Barclays, HSBC, in their semi-annual updates are also targeting the 8000–8100 range, relying on AI spending and generally stable earnings, especially in the technology sector.

At the beginning of the year, the average forecasts of strategists were closer to the 7,000 level, but given all the events of the past year, these numbers have been increased. Of course, if interest in AI persists, this will remain the consensus. Tom Lee is simply on the very “hot” edge of this consensus, where he has spent most of the last few years, and for the most part he has been right about the direction of the movement.

The opposite opinion, of course, is heard in the same news, for example from Ed Yardeni, who lowered his year-end target from 8,400 to 7,900 and revised the probabilities, slightly reducing the "bullish" scenario and increasing the "bearish " one from 20% to 30%. Same day, same headlines, but more weight is given to war, oil, yields, diesel and other factors, as well as the Fed.

So, the tone is becoming more cautious as risks are rising rapidly and sharply. Other skeptical points: we have a concentration risk, as a significant portion of growth still depends on a few “ Big 7” stocks, so a quiet quarter for AI makes the 8000–8100 figure ambitious. There is a possibility of a macroeconomic shock that will squeeze multipliers even while maintaining profits , and Tom Lee himself has a pretty mixed track record , right?

His strategy also repeatedly predicted a correction of 10–20%, after which the year would still end above 8,000, which is a slightly different statement than a direct path to 8,200. Regarding the crypto market, if stock markets show good results, there are good chances for growth for cryptocurrencies as well.

If Lee is right and the fourth quarter turns into a true risk-on period, it will be a driving force for Bitcoin as a high-beta liquidity asset. Cash coming out of the shadows and flowing into G7 stocks should eventually flow into cryptocurrencies, at least in theory, if financial conditions ease and the dollar and yields are supportive, although this is not automatic.

Much of 2024 demonstrated a pattern of “AI summer” and “ crypto winter,” with capital flowing into data centers, chips, IPOs, and large-scale capital expenditures, while Bitcoin lagged far behind. Do you remember what happened in the first half of this year? All these stocks just kept going up and up, and then crypto just went boom-boom -boom-boom-boom.

So, was the rally financed by an exit from more liquid and volatile assets? This could again hurt crypto, even as stocks rise. Perhaps the Clarity Act is the reason why people are hesitant about crypto. Crypto-related stocks, Coinbase strategy, miners, some cloud companies, digital asset firms— they behave more like Nasdaq beta plus regulatory certainty than a pure premium to Bitcoin.

So they are vulnerable to both a halt to the G7 rally and any failures in crypto regulation, as we saw with the Clarity Act. The main drivers for crypto now lie outside the S&P 500 altogether. Global liquidity, real rates, and the dollar remain the main levers for risk assets, and crypto is the extreme end of the risk spectrum.

Institutional ETF flows already operate independently of any separate law. The leverage cycle after last year's October crash really determines how reflexive the moves become. And the AI narrative , of course, works both ways, competing for capital in the short term but potentially complementing it in the long term.

You understand: tokenization, on-chain payments and all that . So the picture is not so clear-cut. Stocks are rising—crypto is rising. We saw that in early 2025 it didn't work. Listen, life-changing money isn't made on euphoric market peaks. They are being earned right now, in the accumulation phase.

By the time retail investors panic-buy green candles, the real profit has already been lost. What does smart capital do? They automate their purchases today. And Kraken is the best US-regulated platform for this. Available in the UK, Australia, Canada and most major jurisdictions. You get spot crypto, over 11,000 commission-free US stocks and ETFs, and automatic recurring purchases— all under one roof.

Plus options trading, property trading and all sorts of interesting things. You can set up automatic weekly DCA, let it accumulate in the background, and earn income on your spare funds while you sleep. No casinos, no half-baked apps—just institutional-grade execution . Sign up now using the link below and when you make a transaction of $100 or more, which is very simple, you will receive $ 10 in Bitcoins directly to your account.

That's pretty cool. The accumulation window closes. This won't last forever, so click the link, claim your free Bitcoin, and start your wealth engine today. So, Tom Lee's forecast of 8200 is a "bullish" signal. This is entirely consistent with everything Tom Lee says, and is on the verge of aggressive Wall Street predictions, but is based on a very narrow base: the excessive profits of the Magnificent Seven.

And at the center of all this is the Federal Reserve. What they're going to do, and how the market will continue to respond to rate hikes, further hikes, no hikes—the fear of rate hikes creates a lot of uncertainty. And the money that could support the crypto rally may be a bit more cautious due to this uncertainty.

And this is exactly what is worth remembering. All of this may be perfectly justifiable individually, but it still doesn't give the stock market an 8% increase in 3 months. So, perhaps the stock market will move slower than we think, and the crypto market will simply stagnate. But this is a favorable factor for crypto if it appears together with a real easing of financial conditions, because that is when crypto usually shows the best results.

However, this will not replace the crypto's own demand drivers, which must also work. We need liquidity , we need leverage, we need ETF flows to start growing again. And so far over the last week we have seen a very mixed picture with ETF flows, in fact there have been a lot of outflows. Stocks and crypto have certainly had periods in history where they moved in the same direction, but over the past year, that effect has definitely diminished.

So we'll see. Will Tom Lee's bullish forecast of 8200 be a positive signal for crypto as well? Tom Lee hopes so. Bitmain owners, this guy is hoping for that too . We will find out soon.
