In other words, this data indirectly confirms that demand for AI investment remains strong. Since this increases the likelihood of a summer rally in the upcoming earnings season, I believe that this was reflected in advance today. That is why we can see that semiconductor companies showed very strong stock price trends today.
Recently, the US stock market has risen for seven consecutive days, with news emerging that it has hit historical highs for several days in a row. However, we can see just by looking at the AMD and Nvidia charts that semiconductors have risen less because they were relatively unknown to the public. The US continues to hit historical highs.
Unlike the stock market, it hasn't yet broken through the new highs since the June dip. In other words, we are now seeing expectations that this might be the timing for semiconductors to rise again. Furthermore, even though it hasn't broken through the all-time high yet, you are likely already seeing a return of about 22% even though the MEN market hasn't hit a new high after you joined me on June 25th to buy USD while "semiconductor-heavy." In other words, he stated almost exactly what the market already knew and forecasted—that the timing for interest rate cuts is coming. Consequently, the market did not react significantly. Interest rate forecasts remained unchanged, and Treasury yields fell only very slightly.
Therefore, I believe that Powell's remarks were a bullish factor, but rather, the AI bullish trend is about to restart due to TSMC's stronger-than-expected earnings, and expectations for the upcoming July earnings season are already being priced in to some extent. And tonight is very important; it is a day that could see significant volatility.
The CPI price index will be released at 9:30 PM tonight. We really need to watch how it turns out. The headline CPI N is expected to slow significantly, while the CO CPI N is expected to remain the same as last month. I expect both to rise slightly compared to the previous month. However, predictions are meaningless; there is no need to waste time.
I plan to enjoy it if it goes up, and I will jump if it goes down. And regarding the reason for consolidation, earlier regarding USD...
