Hello, this is Junsang-ah. I am here today to verify my account. I will refrain from unnecessary chatter and start by showing you my account. The last time I verified my QLD account, it was around 37.6 million won, but now it stands at 41.1 million won. During this recent market downturn, it dropped to 32 million won, but somehow the first digit has changed again.
Currently, PLD is $43 per share. Since I still believe in the upside potential of the Nasdaq from a long-term perspective, I have no doubt that this asset, which is currently just about 40 million won, will double in the future. This downturn has lasted over a year, and while some investors are holding out well, I believe there are quite a few who couldn't endure and gave up.
Furthermore, although the market is still a long way off, there are opinions emerging that the era of interest rate hikes is slowly coming to an end. At one point, I feared that the Nasdaq would fall below 10,000, but now it is slightly approaching 12,000. Therefore, I am sure there are still those who regret having sold.
However, unlike them, I have never once sold since I started investing in QLD. I have only bought. I have practiced this consistently and am still sticking to it well. I believe the 11-dan tournament had a significant impact on my split buying strategy, which allowed me to do this. When I split my purchases as finely as possible, even the act of buying itself became a habit.
As a result, I felt less fear and was able to increase my purchases. Of course, if this were the wrong choice, it would mean going slowly rather than going all-in at once, but I do not think this is incorrect; I firmly believe in it. Furthermore, it seems to reduce the tendency to get distracted by other stocks.
I return to my roots by reflecting on what I am working on every day. If I go all-in at once and bad news breaks, there is no room to waver thinking, "Is this right?" However, split buying on a daily basis does not make everything perfect. On one hand, I think strategic avoidance is also necessary. To be honest, I do not hold the perception that I am superior or different from others.
Even I, when surrounded by the crowd, sometimes get swept away by the waves and fail to make my own judgments. Therefore, when investing, I do not treat myself as an exception just because I am different from others. I do not operate under the mindset that "it will be different if I do it." That kind of mindset ultimately allows me to outperform the market average over the long term when investing in individual stocks.
It allowed me to self- diagnose that I lacked the necessary skills, and as a result, I am now investing by tracking the index. Of course, regarding individual stocks, considering that my choice to hold Apple—which has survived well despite a large portion of my family's assets—I personally don't see it as a lack of insight; however, I am also terrible at investing when I'm not good at it.
I, too, am bound to have weak investment styles. You cannot be good at everything, and I am not much different from others. Anyway, since I am not much different from my viewers, I think it is okay to temporarily turn a blind eye if it is a bear market that time will resolve, rather than getting too engrossed in it.
After all, when your own money is invested, even people who usually lack creativity start thinking, "Should I try this? Should I try that? Should I do this? Should I do that?" Ideas that will just waste money spring up. Since I am no exception to this, distracting thoughts are bound to arise, so I think a certain degree of disengagement is necessary.
Of course, I feel indebted to those who have waited for videos to be uploaded to my channel, but the organized market itself makes it very difficult to survive if you define yourself as some kind of researcher or a clown YouTuber. It is harsh for those who do not define themselves as investors. If you clumsily schem and drag in all sorts of news just to make a little pocket money through videos, the responsibility lies with the investor.
I believe that maintaining a consistent approach is the most correct way to act and fulfill one's moral responsibility, rather than causing confusion with such nonsense. Regarding the Junsu Index, which I should have been providing continuously, I have been communicating with viewers by sharing it on the "Ddukbang" membership—which could have been canceled immediately—so I believe I am fulfilling my responsibility to some extent in this regard as well.
It is open to anyone who is truly curious and needs it, and it is accessible at any time. Looking at the Junsu Index, the market is currently within a probabilistically appropriate range, so personally, I advise you not to pay too much attention to the arguments about interest rates right now. I will conclude by recommending maintaining staggered purchases and holding your positions.
For those selling now, it is up to your perspective; if you sold and happened to have a month-long bear market, you might feel relieved that you successfully avoided it. However, since investing is a lifelong endeavor, even if you have temporarily exited, you will likely have to enter again. If you accumulate experience of constantly reacting to and avoiding small risks, your brain will continue to be unsuitable for long-term investment.
Since it changes our mindset, I believe it is necessary to step back a little and become somewhat desensitized to risk by thinking of it as cultivating our own minds. That is why it is necessary to strategically turn a blind eye. Of course, when investing with leverage, the decline itself can be severe, but you must not forget that the actual magnitude of that decline is not that great.
If you invest for the long term, since it tracks the index, I believe the day will come when you are fully rewarded. We are not much different from the general public, but if these slight differences accumulate, they will snowball and lead to a completely different conclusion. Let's all keep fighting until that day comes.
