The Coca-Cola CEO received an annual salary of 60 billion won last year, in 2022. This is the reward for the labor of diligently managing, studying, and overseeing Coca-Cola. Now, however, the dividends Warren Buffett received from Coca-Cola last year amounted to a whopping... Hello, this is Noblesse.

Today, I would like to talk about something a little special. We are all living diligently right now, are n't we? We are living diligently. Nowadays, young adults and middle-aged people alike are working late, staying late for overtime, and taking the hellish subway early in the morning to commute to work, living each day diligently.

Ordinary people simply live diligently, saving, and accumulating. However, while everyone lived so diligently when they were young, as they get older, a gap begins to widen between them and those around them. But strangely enough, even though we lived equally diligently, why does the gap widen so drastically after 10 or 20 years?

Today, I would like to discuss the reason why the gap widens despite living so diligently. The reason why those currently in their 30s and 40s, and later in their 50s and 60s, are poor is not because they didn't live diligently, but simply because they lived diligently. For example... Let me explain.

Suppose you worked hard, saved diligently, and put in a lot of money. What happens then? Because the value of currency continues to fall, by the time you reach your 30s or 40s, you will eventually need to buy a house and prepare for your retirement. However, since the amount needed for retirement preparation and home ownership rises much steeper than the speed at which you are saving, you were unable to properly prepare for retirement or buy a home.

To properly prepare for retirement and buy a home, you naturally need to study investing first. But studying investing is n't something you can do just by having a few books. The terminology is too difficult and complex, and it gives you a headache. Also, you are too tired after work to want to rest.

And even when you make up your mind to study stocks, buying overseas stocks is difficult, and opening an account is difficult. So, people end up giving up and letting it go. Now, if you let it go like that, look back 10 or 20 years later and see what happened. You end up in a situation filled with thoughts like, "Ah, I should have bought Samsung Electronics back then," or "Ah, I should have bought a house 10 years ago when the real estate market crashed." It means that it will eventually manifest.

Now, everyone, do you want to have those same regrets 10 years from now? Absolutely not. If you have witnessed the actions that your parents' generation regretted before you, it is only natural that our generation must not do the same. Therefore, even if it is a bit complicated and difficult, you must start studying investing immediately to survive in this capitalist society.

I believe that studying investing will drastically change your life. However, when it comes to studying investing, you can see people around you who say things like, "Investing is bad. You have to work hard and save diligently to accumulate money; investing isn't investing, it's speculation." But if you look closely at those people who say such things, what is it like?

They live worrying about monthly loan payments, rent, and credit card bills right that month. They are leaving every week, hoping for a fortune of 100 million won. However, it would probably be difficult to find wealthy people who do not invest in real estate or stocks. And if it were unearned income, it would imply making money that easily.

If it were that easy to make money, they could just do it too, so why don't they? Real estate and stock investing are absolutely not unearned income. This is because they involve taking on risk. Investments that carry risk... It is not unearned income. They simply do not want to take on such risks, and they do not want to study investing.

That is why investing is a realm that not just anyone can enter. There is something I say all the time: we currently live in a capitalist society. Do you know what capitalism means? It means a world where the capital of our human lives—that is, money—is the master. However, that does not mean that having money is the only thing that matters.

I want to emphasize that you should never view making money negatively. You likely have countless worries and concerns right now. Please take a deep look at those worries: family issues, family finances, concerns about your job and future, and so on. But if you reflect on how much money you would actually need to resolve these worries, you will realize that money can solve a significant number of them.

Now, regarding the nature of money, Chairman Kim Seung-ho has stated that money has a personality. He said that if you treat money with care and respect, it will trust you and follow you. He also mentioned that money possesses gravity, so when you treat it with care and respect, it can attract other money.

Now, let's return to capitalism—the capitalism in which we live. In today's society, investment is essential because the value of money is decreasing every year due to inflation. A decrease in the value of currency means, conversely, that prices have risen significantly. You are likely noticing that, contrary to expectations, the things you can do and buy with a single 10,000-won bill are gradually decreasing.

Now, investment is by no means a bad thing. For example, the CEO of Coca-Cola received an annual salary of 60 billion won last year, in 2022. This is earned income; it is the reward for the labor of diligently managing, studying, and overseeing Coca-Cola. Now, Warren Buffett—the world's richest man as we know him— received a whopping 61 billion won in dividends from Coca-Cola in 2022.

So, what did Warren Buffett do for Coca-Cola? He did n't do anything. Ah, well, he just bought and drank Coca-Cola every day— that is probably the only thing. Then, can we really point fingers at him and call him a bad guy just because this is unearned income? Absolutely not. Furthermore, since the Coca-Cola CEO's income is earned income, 45% to 50%...

half They take a certain amount in taxes. They will likely take about 30 billion won. However, in Warren Buffett's case, since it is dividend income, only a 15.4% dividend income tax is deducted. That is where another huge difference emerges. It is truly fascinating, and on the other hand, it is also absurd.

Regarding the affairs of Coca-Cola, the CEO likely did more work and made more decisions involving more deliberation and agony in management, so why does Warren Buffett take home more money? It is precisely because he invested, an essential element of capitalism. Investment must be approached with this kind of concept.

Before judging whether an investment is good or bad, I emphasize once again that we must keep in mind that the society we live in is a capitalist society. In a capitalist society, as long as you do not break the law or harm others, you must continue investing until you die. Of course, stock investing is also a zero-sum game; if I make money, of course, others lose money and suffer losses.

That is why, instead of day trading or repeating buy-and-sell, you should just like Warren Buffett, starting from the age of 11 for 80 years I hope you keep in mind that you can make a lot of money simply by holding onto good assets like Coca-Cola and McDonald's for a long time. We, in particular, need to invest more for our retirement as we get older.

For those in their 50s and 60s—your parents' generation—there are only a few years left of economic activity. It is especially important for them to continue investing. You must invest in a good company, and that company must grow diligently to consistently generate income for you. This is because as you age, your body will no longer be able to work, so someone else needs to earn the money for you.

In short, you are hiring an employee called a stock. It would be even better to hire this employee—the stock of a truly excellent company—early. Life is very fair. People say that it is too difficult for young people to succeed these days, but I absolutely do not believe that is the case. In the past, your parents' generation struggled to survive because everyone worked hard and the competition was fierce.

However, if you look around now, you cannot find anyone living or working hard. That is precisely why it is an opportunity. There is a difference between someone who studied real estate and stocks diligently, and someone who just lies around every day staring at their smartphone, watching Netflix and social media, and only clicking "like" on other people's photos; in 10 or 20 years, they will be exactly the same.

Of course, it would n't work if you just lived that way. I believe that in reality, exactly 10 years from now, those two will be living completely different lives. It’s not too late even now. You just need to start slowly, one step at a time, starting with what you are interested in. For example, if you see news articles about the future of AI these days, you might think, "Ah, if the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution comes, industries like AI, artificial intelligence, and electric vehicles will rise." Then, you should look up which companies will lead this era.

You should also consider that since current stock prices have dropped significantly, if you buy stocks now, they will be recognized for a much higher value in the future than they are now. You need to study by researching and finding out in this way. If you take an interest in how the world is changing, you can find plenty of opportunities to invest and grow your assets.

Therefore, now is the time for you to think for yourselves and ponder what kind of life you will live 10 or 20 years from now. Those who think, "I just want to live a fun life day by day," "I don't need money," or "I'd rather go live alone in the mountains," don't need to study investing. However, if you want to prepare more intensively later—or if you want to use leverage and act boldly during your 20s and 30s...

For those who want to invest to retire early and travel the world in the future, or for those in their 40s and 50s who need to save money for their children's weddings, it is not too late to start now. In fact, now is an excellent time. So, you must catch this timing well. Instead of thinking, "I missed a good opportunity like this in the past," think, "A good time has returned," and resolve not to make the same mistakes or regrets as in the past.

Just seize this great opportunity again. The bus hasn't left yet. I made this video with the hope that young people like me, as well as our subscribers, would take an interest in studying investing during this time and seize this good opportunity. I hope that both you and I succeed so that we can continue to make successful investments together for a long time.
