Can a quantum computer really crack Bitcoin in just 7 years? One of the most vocal investors in technology says, "Yes. " A Wall Street veteran who managed billions in hedge funds says the real danger lies elsewhere, and it's already here . In this video: the quantum threat, the hacking danger that no one sees, why Bitcoin doesn't care, why AI is not a "bubble," and the stocks he says will become the biggest in America.

His name is Jordi Visser. He started at Morgan Stanley, where he opened the company's office in Brazil. He managed his own global macro fund. He then spent years as president and chief investment officer of Weiss Multi-Strategy Advisors, overseeing portfolio managers and risk across the firm. Today, he runs Visser Labs, a firm that helps investors work with artificial intelligence and digital assets.

Chapter 1: Quantum Scare. Here is the statement that started it all. In April 2026, Chamath Palihapitiya stated on the All-In podcast that the time frame for a quantum chip capable of cracking Bitcoin had been reduced from 25 years to a maximum of 7 years . He advised the Bitcoin community to organize themselves, otherwise they would become an easy target.

So, is he right? Visser was asked this very question. Listen to this. Yes. So, his opinion on this is that it's an " iron" problem. We'll eventually get to the point where quantum... So quantum is a hardware problem. I want everyone to hear this. Because we're going through this right now with artificial intelligence.

What is slowing down the development of AI? What is slowing down the use of AI? This is equipment. This is the physical world. This is where the main problem with quantum technologies lies . Will they achieve this? He says 20-40 years. Others say 5-7 years. Okay, so his argument is this. We will have time to react to this.

Part of what Chamat said, and what is true today, is that the community needs to come together to solve this problem, which I agree with. But do you know what speeds up crisis management? Crisis. Do you know what else speeds up crisis management? The real-world crisis we are going through right now.

Everything will move towards crypto, and then JP Morgan will be involved in the end game. The fact that all banks are now moving to crypto protection, even if it's because they don't want to be left behind. They now have a vested interest in accelerating solutions for Bitcoin every day. So, if you ask me what the solution is, first of all , cryptography is definitely better than what we have today.

There will be some cryptographic base as everything moves there, and then we will have to find a solution. The 20–40 year figure he gave comes from Adam Beck, one of the early developers of Bitcoin . Chamat says about seven. That's a huge gap, but Visser's point is that the gap is almost irrelevant.

Quantum computing is a hardware problem. Building such machines in the physical world takes years, and every year is a time for Bitcoin to update its cryptography. He also emphasizes a more important point. The crisis is accelerating the search for solutions, and banks are now risking their own money.

They are building on crypto rails, so they also want to find a solution. Michael Saylor made the same argument during a debate with Chamat in March. Quantum risk, he said, threatens every digital system: not just Bitcoin, but banks, passwords, the entire internet. And Bitcoin can adapt by moving coins to new quantum- resistant addresses.

Chapter Two: The Hacking Threat That No One Sees. So, if quantum computers are still years away, what should worry you today? Visser says people are looking at the wrong car. Everyone is afraid of the computer of the future. He is afraid of software that already exists. See what he says next. Because quantum technology in this context is old technology.

OK. So, here are my thoughts on the matter . First, there is a software issue right now . Due to the number of hacks currently occurring, cybersecurity warnings are being sounded around the world. This week there was an incident with a PHP website. Cloudflare spoke out and explained this in detail. Hacks are happening at an unprecedented rate, and Axios wrote an article about it this week.

I just want people to understand the Axios headline: “The Hidden Nightmare of Internet Security and How Artificial Intelligence Exposed It.” Another example. Exclusive. Madison Mills, one of the best AI reporters out there right now. Exclusive: Unverified AI agents gain access to US bank accounts. Here's the reason I thought about it for a long time , but the way I started, before I allowed myself to make Bitcoin a significant part of my fortune in 2020, was to understand the concept and try to get a feel for what would happen .

So, the way my brain dealt with this is very simple. It was known that AI agents would emerge, and once they reached 12 thousand, 12 billion, a trillion, they would all be able to crack your passwords, and that's what I want everyone to think about. You have tons of passwords now, and I'm sure that like most people, you use the same password over and over again for many of your sites.

It can be easily broken by swarms of agents in 2 seconds. Hell , it's easily hackable by anyone trying to gain access. But now, with the advent of swarms of agents, everything is being hacked on a constant basis. So a year ago it wasn't a problem because we didn't have agents. He doesn't guess. In October 2026, JP Morgan began blocking external AI agents from accessing retail client accounts .

A few days later, Citi and Bank of America announced their own restrictions. Agents can still read some account data but can no longer send money or pay bills, and CEO Charles Schwab said the firm is stopping dozens of attempts by AI agents to get to customers' money every week. This is Visser's real warning .

The danger lies in more than one quantum computer in 7 years. And in the millions of agents working right now, testing the same reused password on every one of your sites. The solution is boring, but it works. A separate password for each account. Two-factor authentication is everywhere , and never let an app you don't trust touch your bank.

So when someone with a huge audience says that Bitcoin has seven years left to live, Visser doesn't just disagree. He opposes the person who said it. He trusts the people who build this world, those who are younger and those who are older, who have experience and are experts in the subject. So, what Chamat said was firstly for the headlines, and secondly, I don't know, he missed a big investment in which he could have taken a bigger part, so that's also part of the story.

And I truly believe that ultimately he has no authority to say what he said. And the irony is that I have always believed, and continue to believe, that every day we enter a very difficult period for established companies. This week I will be on a panel discussion where one of the topics is the difference between owning stocks and owning tokens.

This is a strange question to me because they all blend together. What did A16Z do this week with their crypto direction in their funds? Now it is called "frontier". Why did they say " frontier"? Because the difference between them and any technology has disappeared— they have all transformed into it.

You can't avoid this. And what is the reason they mentioned in the list? This is something I have repeatedly said . The agency world is here, and everything A16Z sees on the front lines means they may not make a single successful investment in the next 10 years. But I know for sure that they have one thing in common: really smart people who have studied the technology in its early stages and see every development in the AI-native world.

And if you listen to the interview they did on their podcast this week, which came out today, I'll just tell you: you can't listen to Chamat, believe what every reasonable person is doing right now, and think we have seven more years to prepare. So I consider this statement to be just a complete joke.

I have three complete jokes. Strong words, but look at his argument. The companies that are best at understanding new technologies are betting on them , not running away from them. His other argument is easy to miss. Stocks and tokens are merging. Artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency are merging.

In his opinion, you can no longer study one while ignoring the other. And there is one more thing he wants you to pay attention to. While all this was being said, the price of Bitcoin barely changed. Chapter 3, why Bitcoin doesn't care. Quantum fears. A sell-off in AI stocks, a spike in oil prices, a hedge fund panic— any of these have previously pushed Bitcoin down hard.

This time he held back. Listen to this. quotes around that, right? But, like, people who aren't trying to hack websites have created the technology. So this just seems like another thing that's being said about Bitcoin. By the way, Bitcoin is confidently holding at the level of 80-85 thousand dollars.

It doesn't matter what happens to the oil. Oil is now, you know, around 115. There are a lot of concerns about AI trading with huge sell-offs. Quantum computers, I mean, we could list 20 things said in the last 7 days. Bitcoin simply doesn't care, which to me is strong evidence that it will go up by the end of the year.

Yeah, I think we saw a little hint of that now, I think, on Wednesday. Good. The only day of growth all week. Well, no, the stock market was up on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. There was a big drop on Thursday. But on Wednesday, after the SpaceX news, there was a very big jump as soon as people thought, "okay, this is definitely it." We finally have confirmation that the demand for computing power is skyrocketing, and Elon is coming to the rescue.

The next day, everything immediately fell back, but yes, Bitcoin just held on. And when I tell people about the damage that hedge funds have suffered, I mean, this is a historic month. Even bigger than July, believe it or not. This is a much larger month. Let's look at this in context. Bitcoin set its record of $126,000 in October 2025.

It is currently at a level just above $80,000. So he's still far from his peak. But here's what he's pointing out. In a week full of bad news, he didn't break down. Oil around $115 didn't break it. The sell-off in AI shares didn't break him. And when the entire market reacted to the SpaceX news and crashed the next day, Bitcoin held on.

He went on to say that it was a historic month for hedge funds, bigger than July. To understand why, you need to know one word. Leverage . He explains how a quiet bond trade turned into a fire. Look. Uh, leaving aside the social aspect, you have the yield of French bonds against German bonds or against the swap curve, which, without going into detail, is widening, and this essentially means the deployment of carry trades.

So, if you were betting on French bond yields going up and German yields going down, you would get a spread of, say, 125 basis points if you just held the position. So , until France defaults and you hold it for a long time, which has been happening all along the curve, you make money. Well, and you do it using leverage.

Yes. And it started to unfold, we started to see the news, but this week the process really accelerated. In fact, the first 4 days of this week were the most powerful, even bigger than the week of the EU crisis in 2011-2012, that entire period. So you had this, you had the principal debt, that is, the credit that had been rolled over.

The reason why this is important is because all the big multi-strategy funds you see have 100 billion or whatever, and they use leverage of, say, 20 times. So you're dealing with trillions of dollars...they depend on the fact that if one asset depreciates, it doesn't matter much because you have 50 other strategies that can make a profit.

Relative arbitrage, ad removal, all sorts of different things. But when the credit sector suffers, fixed income bonds, regions, diversification... This deal has a famous ancestor. In 1998, a fund called Long-Term Capital Management implemented much the same idea. Small spreads held for long periods of time with huge leverage.

Then Russia defaulted, spreads widened, and the fund lost $4.6 billion in less than 4 months. The New York Fed had to raise 14 banks for a $3.6 billion bailout . This is the danger that Visser describes. When one deal falls through, the fund is fine. When credit markets, bonds, and all regions fall at the same time, 50 other strategies stop protecting you and they all sell at the same time.

So did this sell-off prove that AI is a bubble? Some AI stocks have skyrocketed by over a hundred percent, and most of them have AI-related names. So I say to everyone listening: first of all, I recorded a video about this, this is not a bubble. AI is not a bubble. This is inevitable. Point. There may be delays, there may be disruptions.

And here's the thing: there are no free lunches, and I remember telling you this back in May and June in my videos. People can find them themselves . Nothing is free in the markets . Markets rise and then correct. And so far, the S&P 500 index has still risen by more than 12 % since the beginning of the year.

And we just experienced a mass exodus . I don't know when this will officially end, but I will say that yesterday was a situational awareness day because it all started right after the close of trading on Wednesday. I picked up my phone and, as I do before I get ready for bed, I looked at the S&P futures and there was no reason for them to fall almost 30 points, which tells me that some fund is in trouble and we're just going through it.

I think we're close to finishing this. If not, I've listed dates that I think will be a catalyst for people. The first is when we get past hyperscalers. We went through Meta, there was nothing wrong there, but the stock still fell. We have hyperscalers, then midterm elections, and the quarterly refinancing announcement.

These will be three main areas. So I think the low point for this AI segment is near. Its dates matter. Reports from major tech companies, the US midterm elections on November 3, and the Treasury Department's quarterly refinancing announcement, where the government announces how much debt it plans to sell.

Three events that follow each other . In his opinion, once they pass, the forced sale should end, and the minimum for AI trading will be reached. Chapter 4. Why AI is not a “bubble.” He has reason to be so confident. This goes beyond stock prices. In his opinion, something has happened in the last few months that rewrites the rules of how money works.

Listen to this . Debut. My new phrase for the next couple of years. AI is smarter than you. Smarter than me. Smarter than anyone watching this. We have officially reached this point. He is also smarter than hedge fund managers. 100%. Yes. This is the same zero-one moment that has made me update everything in my worldview over the past 3-4 months, based on the fact that AI is now smarter than me.

How can I give it as much context as possible? How will our products change? How will asset prices change ? How will the funding rate change? What will hedge funds do? All of this. Now it comes down to AI being smarter. I always say that investors have one idea for life that they just keep exploiting.

Warren Buffett: Buy things for less than they cost. He just did it many times and built an incredible fortune. You know, if you look at the guys at RenTech, there's math, inefficiencies, all that stuff . You can take each investor separately. I think one big idea for our entire generation is that they will never stop printing money.

But now the idea of "1-A" has emerged: there is a technology that will be much smarter than us. She's already smarter than us, and it's only going to get worse . Warren Buffett had one idea: to buy things for less than their cost. For a generation of investors, Visser says, one big idea was simple: governments would keep printing money.

Now he's adding a second : machines smarter than humans managing money. If this is true, every model, every price, and every hedge fund strategy will be rebuilt around it. So why do so many people still hate it? Why do so many smart investors remain skeptical about crypto and AI? He believes the answer lies in age.

He shared a theory about it, a certain structure. He referred to the fact that, according to him, up to 15-25 years old, it is just part of your life. And that's where my son was . So let's say, regardless of the age range, from 13 to 21, it's just a part of your life. Like the crypt you just know. AI is something you just know.

And then, from 25 to 35, you're focused on AI for making money. My son is at this stage right now, trying to figure out how to organize his life in terms of career using these technologies. And after 35 you start to see it as evil. Any new technology, and that's the point, whether it's crypto, or Bitcoin, or AI.

This is why people are always skeptical about AI. There is no doubt that AI will become an integral part of our lives. This is not even discussed. That's where all the investments go, and if they go there, corrections are possible, even like with the dot-com bubble, where there was a four-year pause between the bottom and the advent of the iPhone.

But it is inevitable. There's no getting away from this . This will solve health issues and many other problems. So I think, if you break down what you just talked about, there is an age factor, and Chamat is right in that age group where psychologically he has already earned his money. He has no reason to believe in Bitcoin.

There is nothing there for him , and as Michael Saylor said, you don't find Bitcoin, Bitcoin finds you. Bitcoin finds you. This phrase comes from Michael Saylor, who runs Strategy, a company that owns more Bitcoin than any other public company in the world. And his example with dot-coms is real. The Nasdaq bottomed out in October 2002.

The first iPhone appeared in 2007. Long delay, but the internet still flooded everything. His point is that people who struggle with new technologies do n't lose the most, their children lose the most. He then told a story about the school that shows exactly what he means. A classroom where students now sit without any technology.

No phones, sorry? No laptops, nothing at all. This is what they came up with in schools. This is the Faculty of Law. This is a famous law school that everyone who listens to it knows about. So, I don't want to go into the details of the conversation because, first of all, I trust this person completely, and they didn't do this because of anything else.

In fact, quite the opposite. This person—I only hang out with people who are very down to earth, can have deep emotional conversations, and really enjoy the topic of where things are going. And it literally looked like they just didn't know how to handle it. This is their decision. Their decision is something we ca n't control.

And I understand why, because with recording devices, the professor is no longer needed. You just let the AI listen to it, and then you lose the point, but you also don't know who did the work. And my first response was: you know, who will find out? People who did nothing. The people who hired this person.

People who, if you don't use AI creatively, to get back to your thesis, you're doing what schools do to kids, you know? This is unacceptable. This is simply incredible. class "without anything". This is madness. we we Class "without anything". No devices at all. The school problem is real. If AI can listen to every lecture and write every paper, how do you know who completed the assignment?

But Visser's answer is the labor market. Employers will use AI every day. A graduate who has not learned to use it starts out years behind. Chapter five, the compound interest machine. So where does all his confidence come from? This goes back to one page in one book when he was 16 years old. See what he says next.

This won't happen because my mathematical brain was very good . My father taught me probability theory well, but it really happened for one reason. I picked up the book, and on one page it said: if you double a cent every day, you get $10.7 million. And I thought, "Wow." And the power of compound interest is one of the coolest things in the world.

Using compound interest with AI is now vital to your life. If you believe this is a "bubble", by definition, you are missing the nature of compound interest from both an investment and a usage perspective, it's simple. It is growing at a rate never seen before in technology. So this power of compound interest, which I discovered as a teenager at 16, is what got me here when I didn't know what to do.

He just knew he didn't want to work in construction. He wanted to be a "complex player." Then you learn about Moore's Law. And what is Moore's Law? Exponential growth. This is the same as doubling a cent. In fact, most technology books are like that . So, if you're ruining your children's future because you believe that AI is a bubble, even though it's an inevitability that will become part of our lives and that will destroy those who don't embrace it, I think the first step, to use your words, is to take AI and make it your life coach.

Let it be a life coach who asks the same questions every week, and he will remind you that the math converges . Start with one penny and double it every day. On the 31st day, you will have $10,737,418. This is the same 10.7 million he remembered. And Moore's Law is the same idea. In 1965, Intel co-founder Gordon Moore predicted that the number of transistors on a chip would continually double.

He later clarified that this happens about every 2 years. This doubling created the modern computer. Visser's warning is simple. If you call AI a “ bubble” and stay away , you’re not just missing out on the deal, you’re missing out on compound interest. Which brings us to his boldest prediction of the entire conversation.

This is not about Bitcoin or Nvidia. Listen to this. It's like having a fighting dog, you would be the boss in the area. Um, the second thing I want to come back to is something I wrote about, and I think it's very important. So, in this week of AI disruption, one company has reached a new all-time high.

Her score is quickly rising in the rankings, especially compared to other leaders on the list. And this is Eli Lilly. Come on, celebrate your victory. No, no, no, no. It's not a victory celebration until it becomes the largest company in the United States of America, which I continue to argue will happen within 5 years.

Do you think it will be bigger than Nvidia and all these guys? Bigger than all of them. Um, and there is a reason, and here is why. What cannot be destroyed over the next 5 years is helping people recover. There is a very slow process that must go through before people are allowed to take and swallow pills.

Ozempic has helped many people in the country by preventing them from dying from diabetes and all the other diseases or conditions that it affects or helps to overcome. I'll be talking a lot about Tomb Lab this week. I made a video for subscribers this week where I highlighted a few things , but here's the thing.

Eli Lilly hit a new all-time high this week. The S&P 1500 Life Sciences Biotech and Pharma Index set new 52- week highs during a week when everything AI-related is falling. Do you know what the power of this is? The reason why Nvidia's multiplier is decreasing, in my opinion, is that over time it will somehow be replaced.

Mhm. Within the next 5 years? I don't know. But the market assumes that it will be ousted. If you ask me, this is the safest company to own. Do I think Eli Lilly is already making history? In November 2025, it became the first healthcare company in history to reach a market value of $1 trillion . One clarification: Ozempic is not a Lilly drug.

It is owned by their competitor Novo Nordisk. Lilly's weight loss and diabetes medications are Mounjaro and Zepbound. But his argument remains valid. These drugs are a huge money-making machine. His logic is this. AI could undermine the positions of chip and software companies. It's much harder to undermine medicine, because every new drug goes through years of testing before people can take it.

And he says Lilly is using its cash to build something most investors have never heard of. Follow Tune Lab. I'll repeat it again. Eli Lilly's "cash cow" allows them to do things like Tune Lab. I was talking about Harvey. If people were to search for Harvey now and think, "Oh my God, this is where all the lawyers hang out ." "Look at what Tune Lab is, and you just see that they now have 135 different companies putting their intellectual property information into this supercomputer that Eli Lilly built so they can all benefit and collaborate, like the Manhattan Project, on the information to try to solve their problems." We are going to solve many different problems in the future, and this will be an important part of the next 5 years.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is what we call a "mic drop" . Lab is reality. Lilly launched it in September 2025. It gives smaller biotech companies access to AI models trained on drug research data , which Lilly has spent more than $1 billion building . Instead, partners provide their own data to make the models increasingly intelligent.

So, the main conclusion. Quantum computing is a real problem, but a slow one, and Visser believes Bitcoin has time to fix it. AI agents are a threat that is already on the doorstep. Bitcoin is holding on through a tough month, and the biggest winner from AI may not be a tech company at all. This could be the company that uses AI to treat people.

Do you think Eli Lilly can really overtake Nvidia in 5 years? Write to me in the comments. And if you want more such analyses, subscribe so you don't miss the next one .
