I'm still really bullish on Bitcoin. Um I think it between now and year end I think it's still possible to be 200,000 and longer term you know a million for Bitcoin. Ethereum I think has more upside because it's and that's why we call it the biggest macro trade um over the next 10-15 years because of both Wall Street building on the blockchain and and AI as well.
I think Ethereum between now and your end is say so let's say Bitcoin is a is 2x upside from here I think Ethereum is more than 2x upside from here but longer term uh in the Bitmine presentation we did some pulled some work from Mosaics uh and let's say it's 5-year view for Ethereum it's it comes to around $60,000 per ETH
markets often run on sentiment but every now and then conviction is grounded in something much deeper experience data and a long track record of being right when it matters. In the world of finance and cryptocurrency, very few analysts have managed to consistently hold their ground through both euphoric rallies and crushing downturns.
One of them is Tom Lee, co-founder of Funstrat Global Advisers and a strategist whose bold calls on Bitcoin have often sounded unbelievable at first until the market caught up. Tom Lee has built a reputation for swimming against the tide. When Bitcoin collapsed in 2018 and the media was ready to bury it, Lee was one of the few Wall Street veterans still telling investors to think long term.
Years later, when Bitcoin broke through $60,000, it was Lee's earlier projections that investors looked back to with respect. Unlike many voices that disappear in bare markets, he has consistently put forward big, measurable targets. And more often than not, he's been early, not wrong. Now Lee is once again back with predictions that are bound to stir debate.
He believes Bitcoin could be on track to $200,000 in the near term with a longerterm path to $1 million per coin. And when it comes to Ethereum, Lee sees even greater upside, calling it potentially the biggest macro trade of the next 10 to 15 years, thanks to Wall Street adoption, stable coin dominance, and the coming integration of artificial intelligence with blockchain.
In his view, Ethereum isn't just catching up after years of lagging. It could eventually surpass Bitcoin itself. So, what exactly is driving this conviction? And why does Tom Lee believe Ethereum may be on the verge of its most important cycle yet? In this video, we'll break down his latest analysis, his bold price targets, and why he thinks the crypto market is just getting started.
If you want to stay ahead of the curve on where Bitcoin and Ethereum could be headed, make sure you watch through to the end and don't forget to like and subscribe for more expert insights. Thanks and enjoy the video. I I think ETH uh you know, ETH lagged uh last 5 years because it went through a big transition.
I mean it's um you know ETH ETH now is not the same ETH it was in 2017 because you know they moved uh to proof of stake and uh and then they hadn't many uh changes implemented and maybe guided by the foundation Ethereum foundation that were not necessarily friendly to improving the the economics of Ethereum itself but I think that that a lot of that changed this year.
So I think Ethereum sort of adjusted its own internal problems including you know improving the inflation rate etc. So there's not too much ETH floating. And and then the second thing that of course has happened because there's two other tailwinds for ETH is is that stable coins have really gained a lot of popularity and it's caught the notice of Wall Street but it's also been caught the notice of the US administration which you know signed the Genius Act and now the SEC signed project crypto which is really impelling the financial system like Wall Street basically to start building on the blockchain.
And the third of course which is on the is coming but I think people are recognizing it that in the world of LLMs and aentic AI especially with real world robots AI is going to become a lot more sophisticated because remember if you're training AI on vision like actually not just internet and Tinder and Facebook messages but actually like it's in the real world uh it's you're you're increasing the a vastly amount of information but then it's also making it harder to verify and secure, you know, who's really issuing instructions.
And that's where blockchains and zero knowledge proof become important. Well, that's a third sort of story arc. All this should benefit the most reliable um smart contract platform, which is Ethereum. Uh and it has zero downtime. Of course, it needs a lot of work to scale. It's scaling, but you know, to be super scaling.
Um, but I what I found, especially because I, you know, been involved with crypto a long time, the crypto community kind of abandoned Ethereum in their minds because they thought faster was better, which was why Salana and Sooie and especially when you had the meme coins, those looked like the place where the economics were the best.
But if Wall Street is the reason we're going to see the next wave, Wall Street wants 100% uptime. They don't care about speed because they can build on the layer twos and they they actually find staking actually a virtue because that means the power law comes into effect. You know, if if Goldman stakes enough ETH, they have a positive uh voice on on on on Ethereum itself and how they upgrade.
So, I think that and like I was just at Salt Wyoming last week and I talked to a lot of the uh OGs I know and I'm like ETH's been kind of dead dead in price for you know for 5 years and it has been and I said you know is ETH actually inferior technologically or do you think it's just the price action stunk and that's why you don't care about it and and almost all of them said it's because the price hasn't done well especially compared to Bitcoin that they don't care about it.
So I I think that's why this year and what's happening recently is actually an important moment for ETH because it is galvanizing the community again and of course if we can stay above the new highs which is above 4,800 as you know that means we could have a a really big cycle for ETH. But look at stable coins why would ETH win this war?
You got ton you got tether just announced the launch of stable a few weeks ago. Why do you think ETH will be the king there? Well, I'm kind of working a little backwards, but so I'm just going to give you some round numbers and uh you guys can correct me if I'm wrong, but US dollar is 27% of global GDP.
Um, and it's roughly 55% of central bank reserves and it's like 80% of financial transaction pair. You know, like more oil is quoted in dollar than other quotes and like stock prices are quoted in dollars. But in in the stable coin world, the US dollar pair actually in crypto transactions is like 99% dominance.
Almost everything in in crypto is quoted in dollars. So really when we think about the future stable coin, it's really uh the dollar becoming the stable coin of choice. And you know that's because everyone likes getting stuff quoted in dollars and and people like to use dollars. I mean whether it's a a merchant in India or Turkey or someone in Dubai buying real estate with you know actually Tether.
So if the dollar is the quoted pair in the future of stable coins then the market share that we've seen up until this date might shift because as you know 80% of stable coin transactions do take place outside the US. Um, and it's been mostly tether and tether on Tron or Tether uh on you know I mean on other coins on other uh blockchains but but I think that the US government wants to have a say in in in this stable coin future and so I think it's going to be more about compliant blockchains where the dollar
uh stable coin is going to be allowed to operate. Ethereum has been stagnant for years compared to Bitcoin's rise, but Lee argues that 2024 marked a turning point. The shift to proof ofstake combined with structural changes to its token supply has fixed many of the inflationary problems that previously weighed on Ethereum's performance.
At the same time, stable coins have exploded in popularity, catching the attention of Wall Street and even Washington with new policies like the Genius Act and SECbacked initiatives pushing financial institutions to build directly on blockchain. For Lee, this means Ethereum is no longer just a speculative asset.
It's becoming the backbone of both finance and AIdriven systems. This is why Lee believes Ethereum is not only undervalued, but positioned for an explosive breakout. If Ethereum can hold above its previous all-time high of $4,800, he argues it could ignite a powerful new cycle, one that could lead to $15,000 in the near term and potentially $60,000 within 5 years.
And when you compare that to Bitcoin's trajectory, Lee even gives Ethereum a 50% chance of flipping Bitcoin's market cap, which brings us to the heart of his boldest predictions. So someone has a Robin Hood account or a Charles Schwab account and they can buy a stock that owns in that company's treasury a crypto token.
So in other words, micro sellers an example like when you buy micro strategy, you're basically buying Bitcoin and uh and that's because they are using all their excess liquidity to buy Bitcoin. Many people will say, Tom, why do we even need to own Micro Strategy when I can buy an ETF? Okay, the the answer is uh really comes down to two simple things.
Number one, the institutional equity world when when a fund manager is trying to outperform or find alpha, they are they are unlikely to be buying a Bitcoin ETF. So their only way to get exposure to Bitcoin is to buy infrastructure companies related to Bitcoin. But the simplest is buying Micro Strategy.
And that's why Micro Strategy in terms of Bitcoin held is actually bigger than any Bitcoin ETF, I believe. or maybe they're second to Black Rockck, but they're basically larger. Um, but the second reason is that a a properly run crypto treasury is growing your holdings of the crypto faster than faster well faster than an ETF because an ETF by nature doesn't grow your ETF holdings, your your token holdings.
Micro Strategy calls it levered Bitcoin. Um, but I'll give you an example of how they how their math worked. When they started their crypto treasury in August 2020, Micro Strategy had a dollar worth of Bitcoin per share. The stock was $13 at the time. By the time you got to July 2027, so roughly five 2025, uh, 5 years later, they had $227 of Bitcoin held per share.
So they grew it by um you know hundreds multiple the price of Bitcoin from August 2020 to July let's say 5 years later went from 11,000 to 118,000. So it was an 11 times return. Micro Strategy stock went from $13 to almost $400. So it went up by more than 30 times. only 11 times was explained by the Bitcoin price increase, which means their treasury strategy, which was properly executed, had an implied benefit of of 20x on the stock price.
So, a a really well-run crypto treasury is going to be a really high performing stock. In fact, he Michael Sailor just posted a chart, you know, since 2020, he's outperformed every single stock of the Mag 7. He's even outperformed Nvidia during that time frame. Where do you see crypto in the next 6 to 12 months and looking at Bitcoin, ETH, and the rest of the market?
Uh, I'm still really bullish on Bitcoin. Um, I think it between now and your end, I think it's still possible to be 200,000 and longer term, you know, a million for Bitcoin. Ethereum I think has more upside because it's and that's why we think call it the biggest macro trade um over the next 10-15 years because of both Wall Street building on the blockchain and and AI as well.
So you have like sort of two cohorts actually probably deciding that it's really additive. Right? Remember the financial system is half of the economy and in the stock market financials are trading at a lower valuation than tech. So I think financials can rerate in this in that world. Uh but Ethereum is sort of the network value beneficiary.
So I I think Ethereum between now and your end say so let's say Bitcoin is a is 2x upside from here. I think Ethereum is more than 2x upside from here. But longer term, uh, in the Bitmine presentation, we did some pulled some work from Mosaics. Uh, and let's say it's 5-year view for Ethereum. It's it comes to around $60,000 per ETH.
So, a lot of upside in the next 5 years. Didn't you didn't you say you you you wouldn't be surprised as a 50-50 chance that Ethereum could flip Bitcoin? Isn't that worth? That's right. So, I think that there's a, you know, maybe at least a 50% chance Ethereum's network value flips Bitcoin, but RWAS- which is not getting enough credit, not getting enough
discussion. Isn't that how we get to 100 200 trillion, you know, web 3 ecosystem? My friends that are in the real estate industry think there is a lot of uh value that's unlocked if you do tokenize, you know, real estate RWA onto the blockchain. Um because you improve all elements of how you authenticate and actually conduct a real estate transaction to how you track and record the prices which allows you to then create more liquidity which as you know in price discovery sometimes means higher prices and of course you would you would eliminate what are today's structural imbalances in in real estate prices.
Um, yeah, it's a huge deal. But I I would say one of the things is like to me that's also one of the when that's when society sees the benefits of tokenizing, right? It it actually probably reduces friction. I mean, I think it's really important whatever future that crypto is building that you know they do think about wealth inequality.
Not that it's a targeted thing, but it's important to make sure that we're not creating greater wealth inequality. And I think crypto is the opposite. Anybody can buy crypto. And I think that's why it's, you know, to me it's actually a really democratizing actually wealth creation for Bitcoin. Tom Lee sees $200,000 as a realistic target in the coming cycle fueled by institutional demand, the growing role of crypto and treasuries, and the global appetite for alternatives to traditional finance.
Longer term, he sees the path to $1 million per coin as not just possible, but inevitable. For Ethereum, the story is even bigger. $15,000 in the near term, $60,000 within 5 years, and a credible chance of overtaking Bitcoin as the dominant digital asset. These aren't just speculative numbers. They are the product of Lee's broader view of how financial markets evolve, how technology integrates, and how capital flows adjust over time.
His confidence comes from decades of analyzing macro trends, not just hype cycles. And whether you agree with him or not, Tom Lee's track record has proven that his voice is one worth listening to. The question now is whether this cycle will play out as he envisions. Will Bitcoin finally cement itself as digital gold for institutions?
And will Ethereum rise to become the backbone of both finance and artificial intelligence? Only time will tell, but the stakes have never been higher. and let us know in the comments. Do you believe Tom Lee's targets for Bitcoin and Ethereum are realistic or is he too far ahead of the curve if you found this breakdown valuable?
