now i previously did a few videos on investing into japan and i stated on those videos that warren buffett arguably one of the greatest investors of all time actually invested over six billion dollars recently into japanese stocks these were the top japanese companies nicknamed the sogo shosa now on that video you can check out the link below i went through the fact that the japanese stock market for example the nikkei 225 actually peaked and the bubble popped in the late 90s since then the market has been struggling and investors have seen very poor returns however could now be the turning point for japanese stocks especially for value investors well kathy wood thinks so now if you're regular on this channel you'll know we love kathy wood she's a disruptive innovative investor and manages ark invest now arc invest funds have historically outperformed the s p 500 right guys so diving into the latest trades for ark and vest we can see that on the 6th of october kathy wood and arkhamvest actually invested into nintendo ticker symbol ntdoy they bought 9500 shares which makes up 0.007 of their etf a rkk they also purchased another japanese stock takeda pharmaceutical co they purchased 123 000 shares which make up 0.08 of their etf so kathy wood is famous for investing into tesla way before anybody else and also being the biggest tesla bull predicting a 5 000 price target so now she's investing into nintendo and takeda pharmaceutical so the question is should you guys be investing into these stocks well in this video we're going to find out as i deep dive into the numbers the business model and tell you guys whether i personally have purchased shares so if you're ready for that let's dive in yo yo yo yo come in there yeah right guys before we get started if you appreciate analysis videos like this also if you haven't subscribed yet already feel free hit that subscribe button and informed when i'm buying shares in some of these stocks now nintendo is a company which really does need no introduction it's a multinational consumer goods company established back in 1889.
if you're part of my generation or maybe even a little bit older you'll of course remember playing on fantastic games such as super mario these days however nintendo has decided to penetrate the alternative gaming market with consoles such as the nintendo wii and of course the nintendo switch the nintendo switch goes back to nintendo's roots with its handheld devices such as the game boy and game boy color and the nintendo switch has proven amazingly popular and actually sold out across multiple stores during the global lockdown nintendo switch has found a niche in that handheld gaming market you can even unplug the side parts of the device and attach it to a television now nintendo is a company which will have some massive tailwinds behind it with the global gaming industry growing at a massive 9.3 per year and it's actually predicted to reach 159.3 billion dollars in revenue this year in 2020 and by 2023 it will reach 200 billion dollars in revenue this is according to a senior market analyst at new zoom so i know what you guys are thinking what about the competition with playstation and xbox releasing new consoles this year now of course that'll have a major effect on nintendo but it seems nintendo's business model is to aim for that niche gaming market especially with the portable and handheld devices such as the nintendo switch there's actually rumors about a possible nintendo switch 2 starting to kick into high gear following a red hot year for nintendo's popular hybrid console in a financial note published in late january the company wrote please note that we have no plans to launch a new nintendo switch model during 2020.
that said the nintendo switch 2 could launch in early 2021 now at the moment this is all speculation but nintendo recently painted a unique health tracking device which will be able to track your sleep monitor your mood by microphones and sensors and even change the odor of a room interestingly this painted device has its own dock much like the switch and seems designed to work with health related games like la ring fit adventure so that's all on the horizon for nintendo but what about the numbers well let's deep dive into them right guys so here we are on stockopedia now many of you guys always say to me ben which platform do you use to analyze stocks so here it is stockopedia and if you wish to check it out yourself i actually have an exclusive 25 off discount link it's exclusive only for the viewers of motivation to invest so if you fancy checking out the platform see if it fits your investing style you'll get a 25 off discount now i'll leave that in the link below feel free to check it out and see if it fits your style with that being said let's dive into these numbers so here we are nintendo consumer cyclicals balanced large cap stock it's actually quality rating of 90 value of 27 momentum of 99 stock rank of 90.
so that's one of the great things i love about stockopedia it's the fact that every stock's given the stock rank you can quickly analyze the stock and see whether it's a good buy and a good sell just from looking at the stock rank so from this we can see there's a lot of momentum behind it obviously gaming markets growing massively quality company is a high quality company value 27 so the stock's not a great value stock at the moment which is why we saw kathy wood investing into it she generally invests more into growth innovative disruptive technology stocks right guys so diving into the numbers here revenue is forecast to increase to 1.4 trillion yen in 2021 and 2020.
one yen is 0.0094 us dollars so you could do the maths on that forecasting net income 335 billion yen for that's forecast to increase also and is earnings per share this company also pays a nice dividend for those who are interested in dividends you've got a 1.87 dividend here and that's forecast to grow to over 2.39 now with interest rates at an all-time low getting 2.93 with a dividend every single quarter every single year is fantastic so we've got five hold nine buy seven strong buy just one that says sell um so we've got people here from morgan stanley um credit swiss jp morgan deutsche bank one strong sell um but the rest are buy or hold current ratio 4.04 now that is incredible guys so so the current ratio is a way of calculating the debt levels of a business now of course it's great to look at companies which have low debt so the current ratio is the current cash the available cash on hand divided by the current debt so that's liabilities which are due within the next 12 months now generally i look for a company which has at least a current ratio of two that means the company can pay off its short-term debts at least twice in this case we have a current ratio of four that this means the company has plenty of cash on hand to continually keep on innovating right guys so diving into the valuation we can see it's got a p ratio of 21 and a price to book value of 4.47 the valuation is a little bit high for example if you compare that to western companies especially a lot of these high-flying tech stocks p e ratio of 21 for a gaming technology company is not too bad so guys that's nintendo let's dive on to the second stock kathy wood has been buying that is takeda pharmaceutical ticker symbol t-a-k right guys so here we are on the numbers for takeda pharmaceutical stock rank 91 momentum 82 value 64 quality 81.
this is actually pretty good all round with the stock rank 91. now stock ranks on stockopedia which are above 90 have historically outperformed the s p 500. so that's fantastic place to start the revenues are forecast to increase that increase to 3.3 trillion yen now from this it says that's approximately 23.66 billion pounds um so you can convert that over forecasting net income is forecasted to double by 2022.
395.2 billion yen as its earnings per share now these are the crucial numbers you need to look for as investors so it is a slow grower with regards to the revenue but the net income in the earnings per share is fantastic analyst consensus one hold nine buy free a strong buy so everybody's very bullish on this pharmaceutical giant dividend yield wow fantastic dividend yield guys if you like dividend stocks this is the one for you dividend yield four point seven eight percent incredible so you gain nearly five percent on that current ratio 1.22 that is a little bit low generally i look for around 1.52 but yeah 1.22 is a little bit low but at least it's above one means it has enough short-term cash to cover its short-term debt price to book 1.23 which is not too bad for a pharmaceutical company p ratio 22.7 so as far as the numbers are concerned that's actually fantastic stock the share price at the moment is similar to it was pre-pandemic so yeah definitely takeda pharmaceutical could be a great pick right guys so we've got two fantastic stocks there we've got nintendo and we've got takeda pharmaceutical so the real question is have i bought shares in any of these companies well i although i do like nintendo as a brand and i think it's a fantastic company i already have in my portfolio quite a large exposure to the gaming market as i've purchased quite a few shares in electronic arts however i understand why many of you guys may wish to invest into nintendo so to me it is a great pick and then we go on to takeda pharmaceutical i love this company fantastic great dividend so i have bought shares in that company so now you guys may be asking me which is the best platform to use to purchase these stocks and invest into japan now i did a previous video talking about the top three japanese etfs so i'll leave that in the link below also for a platform i've been using a lot recently is etoro now i'll tell you a few reasons why i'm using etoro and the differences between that and other platforms firstly it's good to diversify the number of accounts you have with different platforms all heard the phrase don't have all your eggs and one basket so let's say you have all your portfolio with one free trading account and something happens to that business now many of these businesses are protected by the financial contract authority but let's say something does happen or it freezes this actually happened on the robin hood platform they had so much demand because investing has become so popular recently that it actually froze multiple times people were struggling to get money out and it was terrible for investors so the solution here is to diversify have a few different accounts with a few different brokers and that way you're protected not just from inconvenience but also for safety so that's the first reason why i'm building up a bit of a portfolio on etoro the second reason is they offer free trading and investing they also offer crypto trading and last but not least they have a copy portfolio where you can actually copy successful traders portfolios feel free to sign up using the special link below exclusive for motivation to invest viewers and let me know what you guys think of the platform allows me to create definitely join the community and subscribe to this channel and be sure to turn that notification bell on that way you'll be updated on my latest stop vest safe
