A man cries over 5090 at his own wedding. AI is now officially part of the Linux kernel, and Andy can run it all. Let's move on to the hottest news, friends. I am your Bread host. We'll take a look at the hottest tech news you can find on the internet while you eat breakfast this Monday, October 19, 2026.
And let's start today with something light and positive. The video that blew up the internet over the weekend: a man receives an RTX 5090 Astral as a gift from his bride at his wedding, takes it out, and is apparently so emotionally overwhelmed by the day and the gift that he just cries. This is a crazy video that everyone seems to like.
And although my wife didn't give me any gifts at our wedding, you know, it seems to have become a tradition in certain cultures. This reminds people of another video that appeared almost exactly a year ago. An article on Tom's Hardware from October 11, 2025 about another bride who gave her fiancé an RTX 5090.
What's worth noting, besides the fact that it's touching and he's clearly having a great day, is the fact that RTX 5090s are illegal. That is, they cannot be imported. It's not that it's illegal to own one, there 's just no official way to import a 5090. So how did they get it? How, how did he get 5090?
I do n't know. But if you don't want to cry like that man because of your work setup, you should pay attention to the sponsor of today's video . Oh, my wrist. Oh, that's exactly what I would be saying if I weren't using what is probably the coolest trackball mouse I've ever seen, from today's video sponsor ProtoArc.
I'm a big fan of ProtoArc mice, particularly their trackballs, but with the EMO 6 model they've taken it to the next level. They took the creation of this mouse very seriously. They really explored the issues we face in trackballs. Well, seriously. They even mentioned it in promotional materials. Sifting through the negativity on Reddit is a feat for which they truly deserve respect.
The EMO-6 was designed with what pros really use in a mouse in mind, removing everything unnecessary. All setup is done through a browser, so there's no bulky or intrusive software. All seven keys and macros can be reassigned right in your browser. Two PMW3212 sensors combined with a 55mm ball ensure no frame drops and extreme pixel accuracy.
EMO-6 has three operating modes: wired, 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth, with support for connecting two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. You can easily control three devices through one intuitive interface . If you're still using a regular mouse, you might be wondering what the real difference is between the EMO-6 and what you have in your hands right now .
For me, the main advantage is comfort. I don't have to move my wrist, hand, or elbow all over the table. After a few hours of intensive mouse work, we all got the same rubbing from the mouse pad on our wrists. EMO-6 eliminates all these inconveniences. The ball in this device has a ruby bearing, so it operates incredibly quietly and smoothly.
Protoarc has also added a drag-and- drop scroll feature. By double- tapping and rotating the ball, you can automatically flip pages up, down, or sideways. Unlike gaming mice, the EMO-6 holds its charge just fine. The 930 mAh battery provides up to a year of use on a single charge, and the symmetrical design is perfect for us left-handed people.
Give your wrist a rest and increase your productivity. If you've never used a trackball, why not try a model designed to impress even such a demanding subreddit ? And if you're already a fan of trackballs, you'll see for yourself why this should be your next mouse. Order Protoarc EMO-6 for yourself using the link in the description below.
Big thanks to Protoarc for sponsoring today's video . Well, you might need that Protoarc mouse to scroll through Meta's new terms of service, which they unveiled late last week, detailing the ways they collect your data to train AI. And it's not just that they extend this to your posts on Facebook, Instagram, or their other products; With these new terms, they force businesses to agree to crawl their own websites in order to continue using Meta business accounts, which is critical for many companies in various industries.
This Ars Technica article discusses how it would dramatically impact journalists if they were forced to allow their news organizations to consent to Meta's own data scanning for AI training. But the updated terms say that you grant us, or anyone acting on our behalf, permission to use automated software such as web scrapers, bots, robots, spiders, crawlers, and user agents , and to create test credentials to access, index, cache, analyze, collect, retrieve, or crawl domains, web pages, or URLs, and any content accessible through them, that is related to your products or services, or accessible through your or other users' use of Meta's products and services, and to receive periodic updates from such domains, web pages, or URLs.
Meta may use any content from such domains, web pages or URLs to provide, develop, improve, research, train and maintain the integrity of Meta's products, services and features provided under these Terms of Service and any other applicable additional terms. So, this has angered a lot of people because it goes way beyond any other terms of service that Meta has implemented before and effectively forces you to either let them learn from your data or lose access to, frankly , millions, if not billions, of people who still use Facebook.
I know our community is not usually one of them. You're going to write in the comments that you have n't used it in years. There are still a lot of people there. It's still a viable revenue stream for many companies, and this feels like a step too far. This caused considerable outrage. Meta states that they have made adjustments, but not enough to satisfy many people.
Meta says, "We heard you and want to clarify that the scanning terms we've consolidated only apply to our advertising and business products, and we've made that clear in the terms themselves." So the thing that seems to have changed, under the new reading of the terms, is not that Meta is prohibited from collecting data, but what they can actually use that data for.
This is the use of publishers' content for Meta's advertising and business products, not that they can use it anywhere. This was the only change in wording. So, it doesn't seem to address many of the issues that people are concerned about. This outraged a lot of people, especially journalists who want to get their news out to as many people as possible, but, you know, they would have to jeopardize everything that goes on at their news organizations that publish their work.
So, we'll keep you updated if anything changes, but the new terms are due to go into effect at the end of the month, and if you don't accept them, you'll no longer be a Meta business account. This does not apply to personal accounts. This doesn't mean they can study on your personal website or anything like that.
This only applies to companies that have business accounts on Meta. Speaking of other things that got people excited over the weekend: Linus Torvalds released an update to the Linux kernel that was his first code written using AI. This patch is intended to address some cache conflict issues on processors, and it's something Linus himself has been facing and had a fix for on his own PC for the past few years, but now it should fix the situation for everyone.
But this is the first time he's used AI to help with his programming, and he actually said it's a great tool. You still need to make sure you understand what you are doing when writing code. This is not a situation with Epic Games, where you can " hack" the code for everything, like programming—that's hard, so we just "hacked" the new launcher.
This is not true at all ; he says that this is the tool he uses and will use from now on, and to think otherwise is just silly, this is the language he uses, and it is now an official part of the Linux kernel. And what we want to officially make part of your setup is any of the PCs we play on our Twitch streams, twitch.tv/ufdtech.
You can come and watch our team's stream. We're playing PC there with a 5080 from Astral—it's the same brand as the 590 card that the man got for his wedding, but it's a different class of card. We do n't have any 590s to give away. And at UFD Music we have a PC with a 960 XT that we play there. One of the things we're not giving away is the iPhone Duo, and that's because we can't get our hands on them as the shipping dates for them have now been pushed back to the new year.
It seems like there were so many people who wanted it , not a model like the Pro or Pro Max. There were reports of poor sales, and then within just a few minutes, the iPhone Duo's shipping dates were pushed back to January of next year. In fact, many retailers are reporting that they don't expect to receive stock at any Apple store, simply because they are all sold out at this point.
Apple is calling the demand for the product extraordinary , but there is also talk that it could potentially have been a logistical issue or a mistake on Apple's part, as the iPhone Duo was originally intended to be a limited launch. They wanted to sell it only in the US and China, but then they thought that few people would buy it and that it would be a niche product.
They decided to release it in 70 different countries, including South Africa, and as a result, it sold out everywhere. There was less stock in the US than there could have been, and all these places simply don't have enough iPhone Duos for everyone. It seems that this is a very popular product at the moment.
And MapQuest also proves to be very popular among certain individuals who like what they do when it comes to their feature sets. As well as the positions they take on the names of geographical features, such as Lake Ontario, Lake America, and the situation with the Gulf of Mexico, which is called the Gulf of America.
MapQuest is sticking with the previous names, and now it's going so far as to introduce another feature to try to retain these users, and that's their tracking level. The point of all this is to show you where all the automatic license plate readers are in your area, in your neighborhood. The surveillance level gives you access to Flock, Motorola, Axis, Axon, all those systems that are usually associated with tracking your car.
They will now be displayed at the observation level from MapQuest. And yes, you asked to check it. And I know you're interested in checking out Rhys and his suggestions. So why do n't you do it now? Yo, welcome back to UFT Deals, where we offer the hottest tech discounts on the internet, and here's your first offer.
We have an open box of the ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus Wi-Fi ATX motherboard for $79.99, making it $160 off the new price. And finally, we have this 55-inch Vizio Mini LED 4K Smart TV for $248. And if that means anything to you, the RTINGS ranking, if you want to put it that way , calls it the best budget TV of 2026.
And hey, that's all for discounts. You can find these and other links in the video description below. But until next time, I'll turn it over to Brett for the rest of your breaking news. See you later. Thank you, Reese. Many people are asking, "What's up with the RTX 5090?" And according to Nvidia, which denied rumors of a production halt over the weekend, they said, "No, no, we're still releasing it." Despite the fact that they removed it from their marketplace, Micro Center itself says that they no longer sell this GPU.
Nvidia claims that supply chains are tight, but they are still getting the chip to market. They will continue to ship it. And this is very important. It's not entirely clear how true this is, especially considering the card has been removed from Nvidia's own website. It wasn't just a rumor. This was based on real market events that people could see with their own eyes.
There are no 5090s in stock. They are not expected to appear and we can't even find them on your own site. This VideoCardz article even suggests that Nvidia may have changed its plans after hearing people's negative reactions: "What about our $10,000 gaming card? I don't want to buy a $ 10,000 workstation .
Give me a gaming one." So I'm not sure I agree with this argument, but it exists. One argument against choosing an AMD GPU is that you simply don't get the features that Nvidia has. DLSS is available in many more games. They are implementing it into even more projects in the future. AMD's own technology for ray tracing or frame generation is nowhere to be found.
They don't promote their programming side too much. Nvidia is the company that invests in software, and now you can get it all on AMD thanks to Daniel Blanco's new DLSS NR update, which launches every major DLSS feature on AMD's card. So you can get this with the latest update 0.8.0, which shows DLSS ray tracing working on the 970 XT.
It all works. But it does n't work perfectly. Some of them lead to a drop in productivity. Some are of poorer quality compared to the equivalent FSR, if supported in the game, but version 0.8.0 does give you DLSS features on AMD cards if you want to try them out. The best support and performance will be on the RX 9000 series cards.
The RX 7000 also gets some support, but the 970 XT and 970 seem to be what you need if you want to run DLSS 4.5, not something like FSR 4. Let us know in the comments below if you want to try it out. Well, I'll try what you said about breaking news in Friday's edition. Here's my biggest fan saying, "I like a channel that takes a slightly antagonistic stance towards the viewers when the host reads the commercials." That's right.
Now you understand. It's a bit...it's a bit antagonistic. Actually, no. I appreciate you guys, but, you know, sometimes what you say you want and what you actually respond to are two different things. So , you know, a bit antagonistic. And then AV Hutchi rubs salt in the wound by saying, " Yin, are you going to order your Duo this morning?" So, I...I planned it because I had the content prepared for it.
But I was busy working on breaking news when it came out, which was 2pm here in South Africa. And I only noticed it at 2:07 p.m. And by that point, the delivery dates had already been pushed back so much that I thought, "This... I won't have any content at launch." I shouldn't do this. Everything will already be filmed about this phone by the time it gets into my hands.
So no. No Duo for me. I love foldable phones. I love them so much. I had a Pixel Fold. I had a Z Fold. I had a Z Flip. I had a Motorola Razr. Um, I'm just...I'm in the Apple ecosystem, so Duo seems to appeal to me, but no Duo for this guy. And no more breaking news for you . See you here again for fresh hot tech news in the future.
