However, look at the TMF now. Last year alone, it was down 50%. Hello, this is Develo disclosing my accounts first today. My US direct trading account is currently showing a 76% return with a profit of 129 million KRW, while my domestic account is showing a 67% return with a profit of 8 million KRW.
Additionally, including profits from the second account, foreign exchange gains, and finally, Bitcoin profits, I currently have a total of 500 million KRW in financial assets and a profit of 200 million KRW. Now, looking at the US stock market today, it is going through another boring phase. In fact, without any real excuse, it is literally undergoing a period of consolidation and sideways movement.
As you can see from the map, Big Tech stocks are sluggish and have mostly moved boringly. Furthermore, semiconductor companies, which have risen the most recently, have suffered a bloodbath, and Tesla showed a bloodbath again today. In other words, as the US stock market passed through a boring phase today, semiconductors that had risen significantly declined, and Tesla fell again, becoming the culprit behind the Nasdaq's decline.
And currently, Tesla is in a truly serious situation. Contrarian investing: "Buy in fear." From an investment perspective, Tesla currently appears to be in a very attractive range, but as it is an individual stock, the situation appears to carry significant risk. First, looking at Tesla's stock price trajectory over the past three years, it is essentially trading at the levels of three or four years ago.
In other words, 999% of investors who have invested in Tesla for three or four years—whether through a lump-sum purchase or dollar-cost averaging—are currently suffering losses. Do you understand why individual stocks are risky? We struggled during the US stock market downturn in 2022, and Tesla struggled then as well.
Now, while Bitcoin and US stocks are surging, Tesla is running at its absolute worst alone, creating a painful situation both psychologically and financially. That is why I emphasized to you that we should invest in the US stock market itself, rather than individual stocks. Currently, Tesla has plummeted 3% this year alone, yet there is talk that it is still overvalued, and reports are circulating that a deficit is even expected this year.
In other words, since growth stocks are failing to grow and are instead falling behind, it is only natural that they are running at their worst. Even if the stock price falls like this, earnings are expected to be even worse, which is why it remains overvalued. Therefore, buying Tesla cheaply right now...
While buying would certainly yield significant profits, personally, considering safety margins, opportunity costs, and probability, the US stock market, semiconductors, and Bitcoin appear to be the most attractive investment destinations at present. If I were to buy Tesla again, I envision a scenario where I would slowly accumulate shares once the weekly RSI drops below 30; however, I would likely invest my precious money into semiconductors, the Nasdaq, and Bitcoin instead.
Tesla, currently experiencing such a severe downturn, is on the second-longest downward trend in its history since listing. It has failed to recover its previous high for a staggering 8,601 days. Given that the longest downtrend was around 95 days, I suspect this might become the longest downtrend in history.
Furthermore, having already suffered a 70% plunge during the 2022 bear market, it appears that this decline will set records for both the largest drop and the longest duration of a decline for Tesla. It would be worthwhile to wait and see how time passes to determine whether this current fear turned into an opportunity or if an even greater drop is imminent.
As investors in US index-tracking ETFs, even with Tesla falling like this, other stocks are rising significantly, making this a more comfortable investment than any other. It is possible. This is the biggest advantage of index-tracking ETFs; it is because a strategy that anyone can implement is possible.
Now, if we look at the current Nasdaq daily chart, it has been undergoing a tedious period of correction for three weeks, from February 20th until now. If you look closely at the screen, you can see the stock price moving sluggishly within that blue box. And regarding what excuse it dropped yesterday, I examined the reason and found that Amazon, Microsoft, and Google quietly lowered their expectations for AI, saying that knowing about generative AI might not be as profitable for them as they thought.
In other words, considering the cost, accuracy, and value obtained, they became cautious, questioning whether AI is really an industry that hot right now. However, personally, I view this decline caused by such excuses as an opportunity for investment. Although I have been continuously emphasizing this view, I maintain the stance that, barring an economic recession or a resurgence of inflation, this is currently a great opportunity.
Furthermore, because I believe that we need these tedious periods and healthy corrections to prepare for a rebound, I view this current phase favorably. So, in this situation, what we need to do is... if it touches the 20-day moving average... If Woongju touches the 60-day moving average, you just need to make a second purchase.
Even now, a very small number of Woongju investors are buying at very good lows and are prepared for even bigger dips. However, the majority of investors cannot endure these boring phases; they won't just leave it alone and will eventually start eyeing other stocks. Consequently, they fail to hold onto their positions for the long term because it is boring.
But is the reason we invest simply for fun? The purpose of investment is to grow our precious money. Therefore, during this boring phase, we must do nothing but patiently wait. While most people may not be able to do so, I and those of you who sent this video must wait without doing anything right now.
Then, when it touches the 20-day moving average again, you can proceed with split buying of Woongju once more. Whether there is a crash due to an economic recession, a healthy correction, or a prolonged period of boring sideways movement, the key is that you must continue to hold onto your assets. Of course, you should put the lump sum you need in one or two years into savings accounts, but you must unconditionally invest any remaining surplus funds into assets.
I... I do not hold a single savings or fixed deposit account. Everything is invested in stocks, real estate, and Bitcoin. Although I am a YouTuber specializing in US stocks, I do not exclusively advocate for US stocks. This is because I believe that any good asset is beneficial as long as it can grow one's wealth.
I think real estate in the Seoul metropolitan area is excellent. Of course, Seoul real estate is the best and certainly the most attractive, but since it is expensive, the barrier to entry is high. Therefore, I believe that properties in prime locations within the capital area are trending upwards and are very promising.
I also currently own a newly built apartment in the capital area. And needless to say, there is no need to mention the US stocks we are investing in. I truly consider them the best investment destination in the world; I believe they are even better than Korean real estate. Regarding Bitcoin, since the spot ETF has been approved, I am investing with the mindset of holding onto a small amount for now.
While stocks and Bitcoin show better returns than real estate, the fact is that the success rate is lower due to higher volatility and the ease with which you can buy and sell. In other words, you should understand that the higher the return, the greater the possibility of failure—it is "high risk, high return." Anyway, I firmly believe that investing in real estate in the capital area, US stocks, and Bitcoin is 100 times better than putting money into savings or fixed deposit accounts in dollars or Korean won.
As I mentioned before, I am speaking based on surplus funds. If you look at the graph on the screen, the dollar... We can see that the value of cash has fallen by 52%. During the same period, the US S500 stock market has doubled after adjusting for inflation. In other words, if you had held 100 million won in dollars, its current value has shrunk to a purchasing power equivalent to 50 million won in the past.
Conversely, if you had held 100 million won in US stocks, they would have risen tenfold, even after accounting for inflation. If inflation had not been adjusted, they would have risen tens of times. In short, we must hold onto these upward-trending blue-chip assets for the rest of our lives. We must act with the capital and mindset to convert only what is necessary into cash to purchase what we need when we need to temporarily replace a car or move to a better place.
Currently, Apple and Tesla are faltering. As the Chinese economy collapses, Apple, Tesla, and others, for whom Chinese demand is crucial, are suffering particularly. However, even as Tesla and Apple falter, Google, Microsoft, Meta, Nvidia, and Amazon are holding up. Furthermore, there are numerous semiconductor and tech stocks.
On top of that, truly excellent companies like McDonald's, Nike, Visa, Mastercard, JP Morgan, Johnson & Johnson, Coca-Cola, and Costco are all holding up. In other words, the NASDAQ SMP that we invest in is holding up. Most companies in the 500 are bound to see their performance continue to improve.
Of course, there will naturally be some that fail, but don't worry about that. The index filters them out automatically and automatically adds new, promising companies. In other words, you don't need to worry; you just need to become a true capitalist who endures and feels all the fluctuations—corrections, rises, crashes, and surges—and holds onto your investments despite them.
They will continue to trend upwards, so you just need to utilize your time a little. If you continue with me with 2030 as your primary goal, your life will change. I hope you will persevere to the end with even more tenacity than I do. Also, please do not invest in questionable stocks in the middle; instead, please invest long-term in US index ETFs with me.
Looking at the results now, you might be thinking, "Ah, I should have gone all-in on Nvidia during COVID. If I had, how many times would I have made a profit?" However, ironically, the company most held by "Western stock retail investors" is not Tesla, which is currently performing at its worst. The worst-performing Tesla, currently ranking last at 500th in the S&P 500, is the most held by Western stock retail investors.
In other words, for individual investors to pick and invest in individual stocks is very similar to gambling. This is because, statistically, it is impossible to know whether you will become a winner or just be talked about. Therefore, the best method for individual investors is to invest in US index-tracking ETFs.
They are the investment vehicles with the highest probability of becoming winners. Now, there is an interesting research result. You know active funds that select individual stocks every year? Two out of the managers of these active funds fail to beat the simple SNP 500 index. Does that mean one out of ten won?
Interestingly, the results show that the one manager who beat the index eventually ended up losing to the SNP 500 again. In other words, you might get lucky and beat the index once or twice, but consistently beating the index is close to impossible unless you possess innate talent in the top 0.1%. And if you look at this over 10 years of data, the top 0.1% are the investors who consistently beat the index, while the remaining 99.9% of experts or individual investors all have returns lower than the index.
So please, do not look at other strange stocks, and I hope you put your precious money into the US stock market. No matter how much I study Even after trying, I have not yet found a better asset than this. Now, please look at the rankings of net purchases and net sales by Korean retail investors in Western stocks for last year, 2023.
First, if we examine net purchases, we see that investments in triple-leveraged long-term bonds—which had the worst year of all time in 2023, a year hailed as the greatest bull market in history—are listed in the net purchases. Even investments in triple-leveraged NASDAQ shorts and semiconductor shorts, as well as dividend stocks, are on the list.
Do you understand why the majority fail to make money when looking at this data? It means that there are surprisingly few people who have invested in the US stock market like us. Assets would have risen massively just by holding QQQ, but the majority are unable to invest that way. Last year, when I advised that bonds should be viewed with small amounts and TLT should absolutely not be invested with triple leverage, I received a lot of negative comments because most YouTubers were recommending buying TMFs.
The majority of opinions were that assets would double if interest rates were cut, so I shouldn't cross the line without knowing the facts. However, look at TMFs now. Last year alone... It is a well-known fact that even if there is a slight rebound this year, those who invested last year are still down 35%.
The stocks that the majority bought the most were, conversely, seeing their assets cut in half while we were growing our wealth. And regarding the 2nd and 3rd place stocks— three-fold short leverage on US stocks—you all know without me having to say it, right? They have plummeted by 70% and 90%. The top 3 stocks that the majority bought the most have, conversely, fallen the most.
On the other hand, the stocks with the highest net sales are Nvidia (1st), TQQQ (2nd), and Excel. The mindset was, "It has risen a lot, so let's sell it and just put on a show." That is what the majority of investors did. However, as I have emphasized since last year and continue to emphasize this year, I tell you that you must never sell in a bull market.
Instead, you should continue to consolidate and increase your investment capital; I tell you that you must never sell. Do you understand this part now? Now, this is a chart from March 12, 2020, four years ago. Do you see the chart crashing? This is precisely the crash period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
COVID It has already been four years since the crash. It really makes me think how fast time flies. That was the time I first started investing in stocks, when I made my first investment in Kakao with 1 million won. That was already four years ago. At that time, the S-500 was 2,480 points. Now, four years later, how many points is the S-500?
It is a whopping 5,100 points, having risen exactly double the stock price from four years ago. If you utilize time effectively, US stocks are the investment with the highest probability of growing your assets like this. Despite enduring every negative factor—the COVID-19 war, inflation, interest rate hikes, credit rating downgrades, the Evergrande bankruptcy, and the SPBB bank failures—and facing market corrections and bear markets, a sound asset has ultimately doubled in value over the past four years, despite fluctuating up and down.
So, if we hold US stocks until 2030, six years from now, while we cannot know in precise numbers exactly how high the US index will rise and how much our assets will grow, the point is that our assets will rise along with the rising index. Nevertheless, there will come times when various negative factors and market corrections will torment us.
All you have to do is endure with me. To succeed, to trend upward, and to achieve your goals, you must remember that theory and practice are different. Some of you might think, "Isn't it easy just to hold on?" but theory and practice are completely different. Boring and tedious periods like the current one come much more often than you think, and frightening market corrections occur frequently.
Then, sometimes, the worst bear markets and crashes arrive—truly terrifying, painful, and frightening. Only by enduring all of this, over and over again, can we achieve the financial security we desire. Only then can we buy a nice car, live in a spacious and comfortable home, raise our children in a good place, and buy and eat whatever we want with peace of mind.
Naturally, I am also in that process. I cannot say that I have succeeded yet. However, you and I are running toward success, and although it is a small light, the path is visible. And I have a very strong conviction that we can succeed. Of course, hardships will come often along the way, and problems will arise frequently.
However, by resolving and overcoming them, we will eventually use those crises as stepping stones to continue moving forward toward success. And let us continue this journey together until 2030. You need to hold on and enjoy a truly comfortable life. You can never become rich with an investment of just one or two years.
Let's go together until 2030. I will lead the way by holding on, consolidating, and enjoying life, so you just need to accompany me. And let's meet again in 2030 as rich people. That is all for today's video. If my video was .
