01. in the video we made about the first part of the interview we talked about Ray Delio's insights on the world's major economic forces these forces include growing debt internal conflicts Global power shifts acts of Nature and advancing technology Delio's study of research spanning 500 years shows that natural events have significantly impacted history he also highlighted the risks of excessive debt and currency debasement emphasizing the importance of real value assets gold emerged as a prime candidate for this diio discussed the evolution of monetary policy and the dangers of transferring private debt to the public sector potentially leading to inflation and economic crisis he stressed the need to understand these Dynamics in today's economic landscape internal conflicts driven by wealth disparities and differing values pose risks to democratic systems but democracy's adaptability and Rule adherence can offer resilience but today we will dive into the second part of the interview where Ray Delio discusses the complex Dy dynamics of the international World Order in this conversation he sheds light on the ongoing us China rivalry the challenges facing both Nations and the emergence of India as a major Global player it's a deep dive into the shifting tides of geopolitics and economics that are shaping our world China is in a very difficult situation and the geopolitical issues are important and the capital issues are important I think the real question in all of this is are we going going to have war or are we going to have an intense competition and uh right now I think all the sides recognize that we're on the brink of War Ray alio compares the current Global situation to a fierce competition between two wrestlers or boxers symbolizing the shift from a Cooperative unipolar world to one marked by intense conflict the world is now divided into opposing sides with uncertain outcomes while he acknowledges this transition he clarifies that he cannot predict the ultimate Victor or the precise nature of the conflict he emphasizes that the crucial point is that the world is indeed in a state of conflict though not necessarily a physical War this conflict encompasses various forms including technology capital and trade Wars the consequences of this ongoing conflict are far-reaching and raise significant questions about the future of the world regardless of who ultimately wins or loses the world is already grappling with the impact of this conflict it introduces instability and uncertainty affecting Global Dynamics and relationships among nations okay now you see how the sides are lining up like Allied and access powers in World War II you see the same Dynamic you know how does Europe play into this they Europe doesn't want to get involved in Asia and then how is that going to work how does NATO and Russia and then uh Russia and China and how they're lining up and then what does that mean in terms of deglobalization so recog Iz the patterns of History such as okay sanctions always took place you have economic War sanctions and so and and then the economic war in World War II before World War II it was the sanctions the United States cutting off oil embargoing oil very similar to the United States bar embargoing or cutting off chips to uh China and then freezing of assets that led to the bombing of Pearl Harbor so I think well be as we get into what's going on in China let me also deal with the issues of the of of the you know the conflict there are between the United States and China are issues that um are Redline irreconcilable differences and they um they're very risky what Reed Delio is saying is that the world is witnessing a geopolitical landscape where nations are aligning themselves similarly to the Allied and access powers in World War II this alignment involves intricate Dynamics including Europe's reluctance to become entangled in Asian conflicts NATO's relationship with Russia and the connections between Russia and China these developments are contributing to a process of deglobalization he points out historical patterns such as using sanctions as a form of economic Warfare drawing parallels to the events leading up to World War II Delio underscores that there are significant irreconcilable differences between the United States and China these differences relate to Taiwan on China's interactions with Russia and issues regarding Capital movement the impending conflict has prompted companies to contemplate leaving while Chinese companies consider their Global prospects diio highlights that the world is on the brink of a significant conflict and this shift is not limited to geopolitics but also affects domestic politics leading to more assertive policies regarding China amid this evolving scenario International forums like bricks G20 and G7 May face challenges resulting in chaos regard in China he discusses its challenges particularly its debt problem he believes China needs to undergo a delicate deleveraging process which should have started earlier additionally China's geopolitical position in the world raises concerns for investors as they contemplate the safety of their assets the two main reasons are that it is it is a very arduous difficult politically difficult thing to do because it allocates wealth and second but they'll have to do it um and the second is that after it they still have to have a plan for those who were living on the debt what happens with them so for example the local governments the local governments made their money by a combination of borrowing and selling off land for Real Estate purposes and so on okay that's where the vast majority of people are we could look at we think of China we think of shangai Beijing uh shenzen and so on but there's a large all of those provinces out there that are uh economically and financially uh dependent on uh that form of borrowing and things will get much worse so the issue is as they're wrestling with that is how to deal with that so Ray alio discusses two primary challenges facing China firstly addressing their substantial debt issue is daunting due to its political sensitivity which involves wealth distribution secondly they must devise a plan for those who heavily relied on debt such as local governments that funded their operations through borrowing and real estate sales this problem affects a considerable portion of the population especially in provinces dependent on this borrowing model the recent change in government leadership adds complexity to the task regarding the impact of the US China conflict on non-aligned States diio observes that historically neutral Nations have fared better during Wars as the victors often accumulate substantial debt countries like India Assan Nations and those in the Middle East not aligned with either Camp can thrive in this environment their success depends on three factors sound Financial Health internal unity and minimal external conflicts these non-aligned regions often attract talent and prosper due to their financial stability and lack of conflicts Delio also acknowledges India's Rising importance on the global stage he Compares India's current state to China's in the early stages of Reform under ding Xing India possesses substantial economic potential including low per capita debt and an educated Workforce under prime minister Mod's leadership India is undergoing reforms similar to China's opening up however India still faces challenges such as the need for Capital markets and foreign exchange reforms to attract International Investment and ind's desire to develop using internal resources may also affect its attractiveness to foreign investors the issues in India for the capital markets is they have to have uh Capital Market reform they have to have foreign exchange reform it's difficult to invest uh internationally an international investor to invest in India particularly in any uh size um that's a problem so those are the elements um for an investor um there's also a desire I think in India to develop it with internal Capital so what you're seeing more is um as the internal level of wealth becomes greater those internally Indians themselves um H um have almost a monopoly on being able to develop the main industries and so on and there's um you know an element of a desire uh to protect that that can stand in the way of the you know the attractiveness of of of investment in India we'll see how that evolves with that said it's crucial for you to stay up to date on these intricate Global dynamics that are molding our world these are not just distant issues they affect us all in various ways so what's your next move will you choose to be an active Observer of these Dynamic shifts or will you remain on the sidelines unaware of the profound changes occurring around you share your thoughts in the comments section below and thf you want watch the first part of Jim Haskell's interview with ralio just
