Look, every investor is looking for a multibagger in the stock market. But the real question is how to identify a stock that can give big returns in the future. So this investor Vijay Kedia has shared his method of stock picking. Kedia, who has a listed equity portfolio of around ₹1,400 crore, has focused more on mid-cap companies than large index stocks.

You all know that Vijay Kedia bets more on small cap and mid cap companies. He believes that the next big multibagger can often be found where the market is not yet fully paying attention. So in this video we are going to tell you that Vijay Kedia has shared his method of how he picks stocks which can become multibaggers in future.

So today we are going to talk about this in detail in this video. But yes, the purpose of Money Nine is only to provide information to you. Whether you want to invest money in any share or not, you should decide wisely after doing your research. For this you can also take advice from an expert. So let's move ahead with the story.

In fact, according to ET, the most important part of Kedia's strategy is the Rise Framework. In this, R means renewables and energy transition. I means infrastructure. S means security which includes defence and cyber security. And E means Emerging Technologies. Such as electric vehicles and data centers are included in it.

His focus is on fields that are in their nascent or emerging stages and in which he sees huge opportunities in the coming years. Another important rule of Kedia is to identify emerging themes but get out of them as soon as they become obsolete. He said that he has not invested in cement and steel stocks in the last 8 to 10 years.

Leaving aside an old investment, his focus after Covid shifted to infrastructure and telecom. But later he exited most of these positions. Now, along with renewables, infrastructure, security and emerging technologies, third party logistics i.e. 3PL has also become a new theme for them. He says that this business requires relatively less capital and the role of management, technology and execution is greater in it.

He has also invested in a logistics company listed on the SME platform in this segment. But identifying a theme isn't enough. We are also going to tell you further how Vijay Kedia had bought a share 6 years ago at the price of ₹250, which has now become around ₹23,000. That means their money has increased by 95 to 100 times.

So the next approach KDIA takes is to look at the out of form company. That is, a company which has performed well in the past but has lost the market's attention due to some temporary problem like a bad quarter or execution delay. The biggest example of this strategy which we just mentioned from ₹250 to ₹23,000 is Newland Laboratories.

Khedia started investing in it around September 2019 and increased his holding in Newland during the Covid panic in March 2020 at around ₹250 per share. Neuland's peptide business was delayed and the stock came under pressure. But Kedia remained true to the company's origin story. He had faith in the company's story.

Later, the stock also reached a 52-week high of ₹23,881 on August 18, 2026, i.e. last month itself, and this has been seen to be almost 95 to 100 times as compared to ₹250 in March 2020. Now KDI initially built a stake of around 1.5% to 1.7% in New Zealand. Later, about 5% to 6% stake was sold at different prices.

Around ₹7500. Keeping the remaining stake, he said that according to him its average cost price is now zero. At the end of the June quarter, he held around 1% stake in Newland, which is currently valued at around ₹295 crore. His approach is not limited to just listening to the management. If they look at a pharma company, they do not just listen to its management but also watch the commentary of companies in the entire pharma sector.

In the case of Newland, many CDMO companies were talking about similar growth opportunities. According to Kedia Kedia, this signal was important for him. At the same time, he says that it is not necessary to become a technical expert in every industry. Too much analysis leads to paralysis. This means that excessive analysis often becomes an obstacle in taking decisions.

Another big mantra of Kedia is to focus on the story rather than a fixed price target. He said that if he had set a price target for Newland, he would probably have sold it long ago. He believes Chase is the story behind the stock, not the money on the table. His portfolio includes around 25 to 30 listed companies and around 25 startups.

He doesn't want to have a portfolio of 100 stocks. His habit is that he first keeps the stocks that seem expensive in his watch list. Then we wait for them to weaken and see whether the problem is temporary or permanent. In their language, they judge a declining company by whether it is simply sick or dead.

This is Vijay Kedar's way of saying it. If the balance sheet is strong and there is scope for recovery, then the same weakness can become an entry opportunity. TJAS Networks, apart from New Zealand, gave him 20 to 25 times returns in about 4 years. He also considers Cera Sanitaryware as one of the strongest investments of his life and finally, the most important lesson from Kedia is that a multibagger is identified not just by looking at the share price but by looking at its story.

According to him, money can make you rich. But a strong business story can make you wealthy. So this was the whole story of how Vijay Kedia identifies stocks with good strokes which have the potential to become multibaggers in the future. But once again, as we said in the beginning, the purpose of Money is only to provide you with information.

Before investing in any stock, you must do thorough research about it and see whether it is right for you as per your goals or not. For this you can also take advice from an expert.
