01. Tom Lee just said something that made investors stop and listen. Um Scott, we still believe uh later this year there [snorts] is going to be an abrupt change of market conditions. And if Tom Lee is right, the question becomes whether Nvidia can hit $1,000 before that shift arrives. He's not just guessing.

02. He says he can see exactly what's coming and he's about to give you the reasons. I think that there are Sorry, let's say I we can see with pretty good visibility three things happening. He laid out three specific triggers for a market shift and one of them points directly at the artificial intelligence trade.

03. By the end of this video, you'll know exactly whether Nvidia can still reach $1,000 even if Tom Lee turns out to be right. Let's start with what actually happened here because most people got this completely backwards. The market sold off after the Federal Reserve meeting. Investors looked at the new dot plot, which is basically the Fed's map of where interest rates are headed, and they panicked.

04. They interpreted the removal of forward guidance as a hawkish signal. In plain terms, they thought the Fed was saying rates are staying higher for longer. But Tom Lee read it completely differently. trust data. So I think the markets took the removal of that forward guidance and even looking at those dot plots as a hawkish pivot, but I think instead, I think it's a a Kevin Warsh is saying, "Listen, I'm going to be using modern data, real-time alternative data to understand what's going on with inflation."

05. actually a significant insight. Kevin Warsh, the new Fed chair, isn't removing guidance because he wants higher rates. He's removing it because he wants more flexibility. He's essentially saying the old framework where the Fed telegraphed its moves months in advance is gone. He's going to react to real-time data instead.

06. For investors, that sounds scary, but Tom Lee argues it's actually better. A Fed that can move quickly when inflation cools is a Fed that can cut rates faster. And faster rate cuts are good for growth stocks, including Nvidia. So the market sold off on news that Tom Lee thinks is actually bullish. That kind of disagreement between smart money and market reaction is exactly where opportunities get created.

07. But here's where things get more complicated because Tom Lee isn't just bullish, he's carrying a warning underneath all of this. Even though he thinks conditions are still favorable right now, he's not saying everything is fine. He's saying enjoy it while it lasts because later this year something shifts.

08. The homework now is for investors to understand that if data changes, those dots are going to move pretty quickly. So I I think overall is actually quite a dovish meeting. That's a careful line to walk. He's not calling a top right now. He's saying the window is still open, but it has an expiration date and he gave three specific reasons why.

09. The first is the Fed's framework review with five separate task forces re-examining how the Fed operates. There's genuine policy uncertainty building through the back half of 2026. Markets hate uncertainty. When the Fed starts a major internal review and the outcome isn't clear, institutional investors tend to reduce risk.

10. That alone creates selling pressure. The second catalyst is the IPO pipeline. I still believe uh later this year there is going to be an abrupt change of market conditions, one that feels very much like a bear market. Um but we don't want to stand and uh call a top. I think conditions are still favorable for stocks.

11. This one is subtle but it matters enormously. When massive private companies go public, and we're talking about Anthropic and OpenAI, two of the most valuable artificial intelligence companies ever built, they suck capital out of the existing market. Investors who want exposure to those names have to sell something else to buy in.

12. That something else is often the stocks they already own, including Nvidia. The IPO of SpaceX. Today there's very little float, but that's going to unlock later this year in phases along with the IPO of Anthropic and OpenAI. Think about it this way. If you're a fund manager and OpenAI goes public at a $300 billion valuation, you're going to want a piece of that.

13. You're going to have to raise cash somewhere. The most logical place to trim is your biggest winner. And right now, for a lot of funds, that winner is Nvidia. The third catalyst is the supply chain disruption building in the Strait of Hormuz. Because of just the the disruptions we experienced so far in the Straits of Hormuz, there is in the supply chain coming shortages.

14. That those are actually the pre-condition This one connects directly to Nvidia's business in ways most people aren't thinking about. Nvidia doesn't manufacture its own chips. Taiwan Semiconductor does. And the components that go into every Nvidia chip, the packaging materials, the substrates, the specialized memory, those travel through global supply chains that run right through areas being disrupted right now.

15. If shipping costs spike and lead times stretch out, that squeezes margins even on a product as powerful and in demand as Nvidia's Blackwell architecture. Now, here's the question the title asked, and this is the part I promised you at the start. Can Nvidia hit $1,000 before Tom Lee's bear market hits?

16. To answer that properly, you need to understand where Nvidia actually stands in its product cycle right now, because product cycles are everything in semiconductors. They determine margins, they determine revenue growth, they determine how institutional investors price the stock. Nvidia is currently ramping its Blackwell generation.

17. Blackwell is the chip platform that every major hyperscaler, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Meta, is ordering in massive quantities. The demand is not in question. Jensen Huang has made that clear repeatedly. The constraint has been supply. Specifically, the high bandwidth memory that sits alongside every Nvidia graphics processing unit.

18. Here's why that matters for the stock price. When supply is constrained and demand is this strong, Nvidia has enormous pricing power. They're not competing on price. They're competing on availability. That means the customers who get chips early are paying full price, sometimes above it. That's the best possible environment for gross margins.

19. Those are actually the pre-conditions. I think the fourth catalyst is that speculative firepower runs out. Um that will happen when some things like margin debt, you know, experience levels that are associated with short-term corrections Tom Lee's fourth trigger, speculative firepower running out, is the one to watch most closely for Nvidia specifically, because Nvidia is the single most crowded artificial intelligence trade in the market.

20. When retail momentum fades and margin calls start hitting, the most crowded names get sold first and hardest. That's not a criticism of Nvidia's business. The business is extraordinary. That's just how market mechanics work. So, here's the honest answer to the $1,000 question. The path to $1,000 exists.

21. Nvidia's next earning cycle, which captures the full-scale Blackwell ramp, is going to show revenue numbers that most analysts are still underestimating. The gross margin recovery that happens as manufacturing yields improve is going to surprise people. And the gap between what the market thinks Nvidia will earn and what it actually earns has historically been the single biggest driver of the stock.

22. But Tom Lee's timeline matters. If the market shift he's warning about hits before Nvidia can report those numbers and get credit for them, if the IPO wave pulls capital out of the market in the third quarter, if supply chain pressure squeezes margins in the near term, if speculative positioning unwinds, then $1,000 becomes a 2027 story instead of a 2026 story.

23. I think that the the real challenge is going to come later this year. So, I I think yes, very much there is going to be a change in market tone, but I think it's too early for people to expect that to happen now. That last line is the key. Too early to expect it now, which means the window Tom Lee is describing is still open.

24. And the question is whether Nvidia's earnings catalyst gets here before the market shift does. The companies building the next generation of artificial intelligence infrastructure are not slowing down their orders. The demand side of Nvidia's story has never been What Tom Lee is warning about is a market-level event, not a business-level event.

25. Those are two different things. And investors who understand that distinction are the ones who don't panic, sell the exact stock they should be holding through the volatility. The shift is coming. Tom Lee told you that directly. The question is whether you're positioned before it arrives or whether you're the one selling Nvidia to someone else at the bottom.
