01. Let's now listen to the great investor, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. My colleague Vikram met with him a moment ago. They call him the "big bull" of the Indian stock exchange, and now investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is causing a stir by announcing that he will donate 25% of his money, or 5 billion rupees, whichever is less, to charity.

02. I spoke with him recently to understand what his plans are. This is what he said. Well, first of all, thank you for having me, Vikram. Look, I've already decided how much I'm going to invest and give to my foundation. And I'm still, you know, in the process of... There's still time; I'm going to donate the money in 2020.

03. So I'm still structuring, you know, what kind of organization I'll have and what kind of causes I'll support. But some of the causes I'm thinking about supporting, which I haven't decided on yet , the first being malnutrition. You know, it is estimated that around 25% of all Indian children suffer from malnutrition.

04. You know, because of age, you discover that it not only affects them physically, but it also affects them mentally. So I think a big problem we need to tackle is malnutrition. Another area I want to work in is water resources. I think India has some fantastic ancient water systems, you know, water systems.

05. And I think that, instead of these huge dams, and even in urban areas, water is a problem. I believe that if we work on water conservation systems, we can achieve great results. Rakesh, I'm sure that eventually the correct models will be developed and resolved. But the basic principle you're talking about is that at least 25% of someone's wealth should be donated.

06. Is that the model you think should be extended to other manufacturers and other stock market investors as well? Well, I think it depends on each individual's finances and their conscience . I mean, I wouldn't say that 25% is too much and 5% is too little, or that 100% is right or 90% is right. It depends on each individual's budget, on their individual choice.

07. But I think, as I said, give what your conscience wants and what your pocket allows, but give, give something at least. You know, there's no such thing as holiness, or, you know, a rule that 25% is enough and, you know, that 5% isn't, or that 90% is good. So, I would n't like to comment on what is enough.

08. Look, in my case, Vikram , my father was always the one who inspired me. The only thing he wanted and that worried him was that I would do charity. He didn't care about my wealth. TRUE. Now, I suppose the question that really interests our viewers is that the 25% will depend on what happens in the Indian stock markets in the future.

09. You were the first person, or one of them, to talk about the structural bull market in India. Do you still hold that opinion? Do you think the Indian stock market still has a long way to go? I can still tell you that 98% or 97% of my wealth is still in stocks . I think we haven't seen the India of our dreams at all yet.

10. We're getting there. I am extremely optimistic, Vikram. And I want to clarify one thing. I have said that I will give 25% of my portfolio or 5 billion rupees, whichever is less. So, let's say my portfolio is 10,000, I'll give 2,500. Let's say my portfolio is 25,000, I will still give 5,000. And this is because I finally intend to give at least 25%.

11. But I want to give first and then test the waters, see what effect I have, how well I can use the money before committing more funds. Regarding the markets, I am extremely optimistic, especially in the long term. I do n't think they've seen anything yet. Well, that's an interesting perspective coming from you, something that people have really been wondering about.

12. So, he continues to believe that India is a great investment story and that stock market investors should be excited. Absolutely, and I believe that, well, God can do anything, unless totally unforeseen, invisible, and unthinkable circumstances occur. I don't think India's upward trend as a country can be stopped.

13. And as a consequence, the upward trend in the stock markets. Don't forget one thing: the bull run in the stock markets is a product of the bull run in the economy.
