Hello everyone, it's me, Kevin. This day has come . We get my own Phenom 300E. I am so excited. This is a wonderful plane, and I want to show it to you. That's actually a 2015 Phenom behind me . We flew in on this one to pick up the one right behind me . I am so excited. This is so cool. I mean, there were some days when I was really happy to pick something up.
One of those days was in December 2017, I picked up my Tesla Model X. God, it was truly exciting. But I'll tell you what , oh my God, I love that this is a new level of freedom to travel, uh, for business. We will be looking for so many great deals for home use. I will say that it is a little cold right now.
28. I didn't dress up specifically. This is Texas. I didn't think it would be this cold here, but it's okay. Let me show you the plane. So, here it is. This is the appearance of the aircraft. This is an aircraft that can be flown by one pilot. The 300E is, um, a model. This is an improved model. This is, um, a newer model.
It has a truly stunning exterior that is all painted. Airplanes cannot be covered with film. They probably need to be painted, or at least that's what I was told. But it has a PCB design that's super cool. We will keep it. I'll tell you about the new number on board that we're getting, which is super- super exciting.
So of course I'll have to go to the other side. But, um, yes , those are wings. They look super cool. Again, this is 2021. I was looking at the 2010s. I was looking at the 08s. Uh, and you could save a little bit by buying an older plane, but you would find that it's an older plane and it just wasn't worth the difference because most of the cost of one of these planes is actually in the maintenance, in the engine hours.
Every hour this thing is in the air, you spend about a hundred dollars on the engine . Two engines–that’s $200 for the engine program. So, uh, most of the cost of an airplane is actually in owning it. Uh, and the difference between this plane and a plane that cost maybe $3 million less didn't really matter much because we financed it.
The difference was about 11%, if you take into account all costs, because there are pilots anyway. You still have engine programs that you pay for hourly. Gasoline is the same. All the same. So we decided to buy a newer plane, something that we could use for 5-10 years, uh , before selling it and maybe hopefully upgrading it.
But anyway, uh, this is the current flight number. But what I want to do is put a nice P right here and then maybe a P right here. So, we get our PP here. And then the tail number that we register is 694 PP. And that's because we expect the fee by the time we can change that tail number in about 6 months, we expect the fee on the ETF that I manage to go down to about 69 instead of 77 basis points.
Of course, there are no guarantees, but that's kind of my plan. I think that would be really cool. But, yeah, I mean, it's just incredible, just looking at it, and it's like, "Wow." This is mine. This is strange. So let me take you inside. One thing I really liked about the inside of this plane is that most planes seem to have this early 2000s or late 2000s beige leather.
So it's either a light beige or a darker beige, and then you get kind of, uh, wood colors that kind of remind you of the '90s. I am so excited about this plane because it is a modern plane. He looks amazing. Let 's go inside. So, here's the interior, and I like it. There is a bench here. They are all stretched.
So , uh, it's a smaller plane. I call it a small jet. Uh, this is a whole new world for me. He's, uh, very expensive. And I have to make sure I never leave this, uh , world, right? So, that's the most dangerous part when you go, uh, generational and do something big. You buy an airplane that is too big, or you get an older airplane that has significantly higher costs per hour because it is older and therefore requires more expensive maintenance, but it is bigger.
Uh, you, I think you're putting yourself at too much risk. So, I really wanted to choose something that would be suitable for the exact purpose I needed it for . And here it is. It has nine seats. So, we have two here. Eh, that's so cool. By the way, look at this carbon fiber design from the side. I don't think these are pull-outs .
Yes, look at this. They are being nominated. And Embra, the manufacturer of this plane, a Brazilian company, they, um, did this because when people got on the plane, they would often hit, or their knees would hit it, or their luggage would hit the side. So now they kind of fold inward, which is pretty cool.
What's also pretty cool is that the design of these seats is stunning. It's really, really cool how they have a separate, uh, main section right here. And one of the things that I really like about these seats, let's see if I can figure out how to do that here. Oh yeah, look at this. They can rotate the seat very much.
So, I think when we have team meetings, I need to figure out exactly how to do this. That's it. We want to be able to tilt the seats sideways so we can also communicate with the people sitting in those seats. That way they can raise their seats, right? And then we can have a meeting like this for six people in this region, if we have, you know, a few more people.
We have a bench here. We have two pilots. But this is just wonderful. This is so cool. Uh, look at how these windows are made too . Look how beautiful it is. This is just super cool. And, uh, I mean, it looks great. These places here also have tables like this. So we'll open one of them. Very beautiful colors.
Here. This is so cool. So we can do our work and hold team meetings here. Hooray! This is so exciting. I can't wait for the deals we can find in this place and the work we can do, the team building we can do. We... That's cool. If you come back here, I'll move it a little. That's it. So unlike a motorhome where you have to carry things out through the cabin, uh, you don't have to do that. Another pretty cool thing is this little drawer under the seat. And, um, I call it a gun storage drawer. Look at this. It's just perfect for weapons and ammunition, because you know what?
There is no TSA here. What do you think, Dad? Surprisingly. This is amazing. This is madness. Thank you. So here we have, um, power and a USB plug. But what's interesting is that on another plane , in 2015, there was only one outlet here, in the middle. And this plane actually has one power outlet per seat.
So, each seat has its own outlet, which is pretty cool. A little storage space, I don't know what for. Oh, I know. Alcohol, of course. Yes. That's it. Decide. You see, one of the things you have to remember is that you can't get a DUI on an airplane. Just don't fly. I do n't know why, but technically this seat, uh , looks like a main passenger seat.
So, this seat usually has some additional aircraft controls. I have n't done this yet, but let's find out. So, right here. Aha. Yes, there is. He has, uh, more than just a small phone. And with this phone, I can talk to the pilots or call the satellite if necessary. So, this is kind of like your executive chair, right ?

I knew it was real, but in the newspapers the E is improved, and it has more powerful engines, a higher flight speed, a shorter takeoff distance because it has much more thrust during takeoff. It's actually a bit more economical than the non-engine version , the older version. Dude, that takeoff was instant.
This is so cool. So if I do this, and then this ... Yeah, I found something else. The phone is vertical . Perfectly. This is another new feature on this , uh, newer aircraft. Oh, that's really great. When you tried to clear the table on the previous one, you had to open the lid yourself. The only reason it makes sense to own your own plane is if you fly between three and five hundred hours a year. People usually say that on average you need to fly for a year to justify owning an airplane.
Unless you are so rich that you are just throwing money away and you just need a plane for whatever purpose. For a business person, you should fly at least 400 hours a year. So, if I take an average 90- minute one-way flight, it will be about a 3-hour flight. This would mean that I would really need to make somewhere around 130-125 flights, which is probably somewhere around two or three times a week.
I need to fly somewhere, it could be some parts of Arizona, it could be Utah, it could be, uh, Salt Lake City, Portland, wherever . But we are going to find good deals. And the whole purpose of this plane is so that I can run a media business while also running a real estate investment business, and I'm the one doing the buying.
I see all the real estate. So, a few more numbers to know: the variable costs for this aircraft are between $1,000 and $1,500 per hour. Fixed costs for an airplane, such as the loan for the airplane, pilots, hangar, insurance, maintenance, and variable costs, are between $2,500 and $3,500 per hour, depending on how many hours you fly it.
Five more hours and the cost of an hour of flight will decrease. But I would say that if you factor in a total of $4,500 to $5,000 per flight hour, that gives you an idea of how much it costs to operate this aircraft, assuming you fly about 400 hours a year. So at least that's roughly what we're putting in the budget.
So I'll let you know in a year how it went, but I'm really happy. It's expensive and we'll have to invest a lot of money into it , but it'll be insanely worth it, especially considering what we can do with Houseack. So we are more than happy. So, here it is .
