Quite an active morning this Monday. How are you guys? This is Ricky from TechBud Solutions. We have a few updates for you, so let's get right to it. So, the Nasdaq market is now down 0.7%. This is after a 1.5 % drop in the overall lows. So, surprisingly, we held above $700 for QQQ. Remember, $700 is an important support level for QQQ.
If we start to break below that, we have a big gap down to the 660 lows. So again, if you're bullish and want to stay invested, make sure the Nasdaq holds above 700. If it does break that support, we'll have to close that gap, and that's where the selling pressure could increase . We are now testing previous highs before the market opens.
So be careful. This was the previous resistance range. Don't be surprised if it becomes a resistance level again . We'll see if it gets rejected. My alerts are set and the trend may start to reverse. Actually, today in our live session with the LPP team—remember, I trade live every morning. If you want to join, the second link is below.
The main focus this morning was MSTR, at least immediately after opening. As soon as the markets opened, I took a small short position. It went down and I managed to lock in $1,300 in profit, which I was happy to do because the direction quickly changed against my position. So, the position is completely closed, $1,300 per day.
The main thing I want to emphasize is that there is no point in shorting MicroStrategy while Bitcoin remains at high levels, and it definitely remains, right? There is no breakdown below 75,000. So I better take that into account. Yes, I made money on the MSTR short, but honestly, it was all about timing.
The direction is extremely bullish. It makes more sense to play the upside than the downside, given the current direction and sentiment of the market. Only if it breaks the support at 75,000 and starts to fall, then I will be happy to short it. But let's move on to the general market update. So, I believe the Nasdaq will get a rejection here and then we will go back to testing the previous lows , and here's why.
The US Treasury Department officially states that the government can use its general account at the Fed to fund stock buybacks. There is currently about $935 billion in this Treasury account . The most interesting thing here is that they see time and time again that this intervention—initially, remember, the US Treasury announced a $4 billion bailout, which is twice as much as $2 billion.
Treasury bonds recovered for a day and then returned to their previous levels, right? So, it didn't affect them. Then they said, well, we can use more than 4 billion if needed. Again, the markets didn't care. Now they're saying they can use, you know, they're willing to use 935 billion in their account.
Now they're going all in. Again , to me, this just shows how desperate the Treasury is right now trying to take control of the bond market. You see, it really has negative consequences for what they wanted to do, compared to what actually happens. And I believe that it will only get worse, because now they have revealed all their cards, showing signs of insecurity.
Given this, Trump is back with tariffs. President Trump says tariffs on Canada will be increased to 50 % on all cars, trucks, large and small, auto parts, and steel, starting January 1, 2027. Again, this is most likely just a negotiating tactic that Trump likes to threaten. And now Canada is also threatening to raise the price, uh, what's up?
For example, electricity, steel, and imports into the US. So, let's see how this all develops. Just wanted you to understand that yes, " tariff" Trump is back. Now he is opposing Canada. And we'll see how it ultimately unfolds. With that in mind, Samsung— again, if you're wondering why so many semiconductor stocks sold off shortly after the markets opened, that's probably why.
Samsung shares fell 8% despite announcing the largest shareholder payout in history of up to $80 billion. The company has committed to allocating 21 billion to dividends and 10 billion to share buybacks, with the rest to be decided only in January 2027. The market is not ready to wait that long. So, again , it seems like there's a lot of uncertainty in the semiconductor infrastructure space when it comes to these chip companies.
And don't forget, Marvel and Nvidia report earnings this week. So this is definitely worth paying attention to. Crude oil stocks in the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve have officially fallen below 290 million barrels for the first time since 1982. Remember when Trump said, "Oh, we have so much oil"? Our reserves are at their lowest level since 1982.
And this is not the best situation if the Strait of Hormuz is supposedly closed. There are now reports that there is allegedly a huge increase in traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. Again, this is public information, right? Check vessel traffic data. Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is low, especially from the US side.
Again, they are trying to manipulate the market to bring down oil prices because they desperately need some relief. This is not to scare you, but to encourage you to do your own analysis. The title can be anything, right? Especially when it comes from the administration that has orchestrated this whole deal fiasco over the last, you know, 30 weeks.
We all know that this is nonsense. Study it and check it out for yourself. Who cares what the headlines say? Data on traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is public. You can access them and clearly see that this is not the case at all. Another interesting detail concerns Nancy Pelosi, right? Yesterday we talked about Trump.
And now Nancy Pelosi has just revealed some of her new deals. She invested 15,000 shares in BE, i.e. Bloom Energy . And you see that this position is valued at 1 to 5 million along with 200 call options. And the other one is Intel, 10,000 shares, 50 call options. So I just wanted to make sure we talked about it.
And Michael Bury also revealed some of his positions. He opened the shorts on Core Weave. He increased his short on Micron, increased his shorts on Palantir and on semiconductors, namely the inverse ETF, if I'm not mistaken, SOXX. Also added longs on MELI and longs on Lululemon. I don't know why he keeps doing this, but then again, everyone has their own opinion.
MOH, SFM, TPLWF and BBW, i.e. Build-A-Bear. Reduced positions in PayPal and reduced positions in Veev, ticker VEEV. So, to summarize, the main event this week is Nvidia's earnings report after the close of trading on Wednesday. Also after the markets close on Thursday, we expect reports from Marvell Technologies and Irene.
In addition, a meeting will be held in Jackson Hole on Thursday and Friday, where the chairman of the Federal Reserve will speak for the first time. The market will depend on his comments and tone—whether he is hawkish or dovish— as there is currently great uncertainty about whether the Fed will raise rates or consider lowering them.
So, for my part, I will keep you updated . As I said before, the best way to work with us and trade live every morning is through our LP PT team. There is a discount now, and the link to it is the second one in the description under the video. So when you're ready to join, remember: this is a one-time payment for lifetime access.
We follow the Nasdaq overall market. Make sure you take the risk-reward ratio into account. If you open long positions, what is the potential profit and what is the potential risk? In my opinion, there is enough uncertainty in the market right now due to the oil markets, today's news, and the US Treasury's attempts to intervene in the bond market situation.
The dollar is becoming devalued, isn't it? The large amount of uncertainty forces me to not be too aggressive in my long positions. This does not mean that you should open short positions. This is just a good reminder not to use excessive leverage at overbought levels if the markets start to pull back.
Remember: if the markets start to pull back to the 650 lows that we have already tested, I want to remind you that when the overall market falls, individual stocks will most likely fall as well. Make sure you can take advantage of these opportunities by having cash in reserve. This means you shouldn't overload positions at overbought levels, knowing that the situation may get worse before it gets better.
So I'm looking forward to the sequel. I will continue to keep you updated on developments. If you are on our LPP team, . And, as always, we will do everything possible to end the year with a profit. Take care of yourself, team. Happy Monday.
