In his latest interview on Global Money Talk, Tom Lee breaks down why the markets may be due for a short breather after an 8week 25% rally, but warns that hesitation could cost you big.
He also weighs in on inflation trends, rising geopolitical risks, and how he's thinking about major leadership stocks like Tesla and Nvidia going forward. In just a moment, I'll play you the full clip from Tom Lee. And right after that, I'll give you my full breakdown and reaction to what he said. Plus, stick around because I'll also reveal my top pick for the best AI stock to buy now before the next leg of the rally begins.

All right, let's dive in. Here's what Tom Lee had to say. Yes, yesterday uh on 3Pro TV I was explaining that it wouldn't surprise me if the stock market needed to consolidate. A consolidation means that it's not obvious that we go straight up. Number one, we just gained 25% in eight weeks. So we can't continue to go up at that rate.
The second is that the US is considering intervening in the Israeli Iran war and we know that there's this view about wars which is you quote sell the invasion. Okay. So meaning markets get nervous as war talk rises but you buy the invasion. So like when the US makes the decision to intervene now that could be dropping bombs or supporting but entering the actual conflict that's when stocks will actually likely rise because investors have been worried about it.
So we consolidate into that event. And the third, of course, is that Fed Sher Powell just told everybody inflation's going to rise this summer. So anybody who's been sitting on cash is going to say, "I can't buy stocks until after the summer because the Fed told me there's inflation." So investors are going to wait.
So those are the reasons why I think the market consolidates. But that shouldn't prevent you from buying stocks because let's say that you believe that at the start of this week. Well, Palanteer, Tesla, Circle all did really well. I mean, Circle started the week at I think it started the week at like 130 and it's 240.
So plenty of stocks can still go up. So te the biggest risk to Tesla like if you would let's say that you own Tesla and you've made a lot of money in it. The biggest risk to you is if there's another Tesla coming, right? And so what is Tesla today? One, they have fanatical customer loyalty. I mean fanatical because does anybody here drive a Tesla?
Okay. I'd say people who own a Tesla tell you it's very it is not even like owning a car. It's like owning a smart assistant. You know, it's that good. And we know Tesla is already making a push into robots and integrating AI. I mean, pretty much no American company is even doing this. Like, Apple's not Apple can't do it because Apple doesn't make a car.
Apple just makes a smartphone. uh or a watch and headphones. The risk to Tesla is if Chinese cars in America match the reputation Tesla has. I think Chinese electric cars, some of them are better than a Tesla, but I don't think they deliver the Tesla experience for people. So, it's like it's like chocolate.
Like Hershey's is Hershey's. Okay. And then someone makes like a Mars chocolate bar and it might be technically better, but it doesn't mean they're going to take over Hershey. I mean, Hershey is not even compared to Tesla, but I'm just giving you as an example. So, I think you should only worry about Tesla if there's another Tesla coming.
I don't think you should worry about Tesla just because they'll sell BYD cars in America. Even if it's cheaper, it doesn't change people's attachment to Tesla. And that's the same thing with Nvidia. You should sell Nvidia if there's another Nvidia coming. But how is someone going to replace Nvidia? They're in all the data centers.
They have CUDA, you know, they have Jensen Wong. The smartest people when they graduate college, they don't apply for a job at AMD, you know, they want to get a job at Nvidia. Until that changes, you know, there no one can touch them. So that's the way to think of it. Like who is a threat to Nvidia is another Nvidia.
And if there's no other Nvidia, then you stick with Nvidia. So, first off, Tom Lee starts by saying he wouldn't be surprised if the stock market enters a period of consolidation. Now, what does consolidation mean? In plain terms, it means the market might not continue shooting up like it has been, and that makes perfect sense.
He points out that we've already seen a 25% gain in just 8 weeks. That kind of rally isn't sustainable forever. Even the most bullish markets need to breathe. They need a moment to digest those gains, shake out weak hands, and reset expectations. So he's not calling for a crash. He's just saying don't be shocked if we stall or go sideways for a bit.
The first reason he gives is exactly that, the sheer speed and size of the recent rally. When a market runs too hot too fast, it often leads to short-term exhaustion. Investors start locking in profits. New buyers hesitate because everything looks expensive and suddenly things slow down. Think of it like a marathon runner.
If you sprint for 8 miles straight, you're not going to keep sprinting through mile 9 and 10. you slow down, catch your breath, and pace yourself. That's where we are right now. Then he hits us with the second big point, geopolitical tension, specifically the situation between Israel and Iran. He brings up a classic market adage, sell the war talk, buy the invasion.
And this is actually a pretty accurate observation of how markets often react to geopolitical risk. When there's talk of war, uncertainty spikes, volatility increases, and stocks often dip. But the moment war actually starts or a government announces they're stepping in, oddly enough, the market often rallies.
Why? Because markets hate uncertainty. Once the action begins, the uncertainty fades and investors know what they're dealing with. So Lee's implying that if the US gets involved in the Middle East conflict, whether by military action or strategic support, we might actually see a market bounce. But until then, uncertainty will keep things choppy.
His third point is all about inflation, and this one's critical. Fed Chair Jerome Powell recently warned that inflation will likely rise this summer. Now, imagine you're sitting on the sidelines with a pile of cash. Powell just told you inflation is coming. Naturally, your instinct is to wait. Maybe you tell yourself, "I'll buy stocks after inflation cools off." That mindset creates hesitation.
It puts pressure on near-term buying activity. So, we get a lot of people waiting for the dip or sitting in cash, which again supports the idea of a market pause rather than a crash or continuation of the rally. But then Tom Lee flips it. Even though he's predicting a consolidation phase, he doesn't think that means you should stay out of the market altogether.
And that's such an important point. He literally points to some stocks that exploded just this week. Palunteer, Tesla, Circle stocks that went up big despite the market being in a potential pause phase. Circle, for example, he says, went from $130 to $240 in just a few days. That's nearly a doubling in one week.
So, his message is clear. Consolidation doesn't mean every stock sits still. There's still money to be made, especially in companies with strong narratives or momentum. Now, here's where the interview gets really interesting. Tom Lee shifts gears and talks about Tesla and not just its stock, but the experience of owning a Tesla.
He says, and I quote, "It's not even like owning a car. It's like owning a smart assistant." "That's a bold statement, and honestly, it captures what makes Tesla so special in the eyes of its loyal fan base." He compares Tesla's edge to Hershey's chocolate. Sure, there may be technically better chocolate out there, but Hershey has brand loyalty, emotional attachment.
That same kind of stickiness applies to Tesla owners. And here's the deeper takeaway. Lee's not just talking about cars. He's talking about moes, competitive advantages that are hard to replicate. Tesla's moat isn't just in hardware or batteries. It's in user experience, branding, and an AI powered vision of the future that no other car company, Chinese or otherwise, has matched yet.
Even if a company like BYD comes to the US with cheaper EVs, that doesn't automatically dethrone Tesla, because being cheaper isn't the same as being better in the eyes of the consumer. Then he takes the same logic and applies it to Nvidia. He says, "The only reason you should sell Nvidia is if there's another Nvidia coming." Think about that.
Because right now, Nvidia isn't just dominating in GPUs. They're embedded in every major data center. They've built an entire software ecosystem with CUDA. They have Jensen Hang, a visionary CEO with the kind of cult following most companies would kill for. And most importantly, the best minds graduating today don't dream of working at AMD or Intel.
They dream of working at Nvidia. That's power. That's magnetism. That's a moat. So again, unless someone comes along who can truly rival Nvidia at every level, hardware, software, talent, and leadership, there's no logical reason to jump ship. So what's the bottom line? Tom Lee isn't telling you to be scared.
He's saying be smart. Be aware of the macro headwinds like inflation and geopolitics, but don't get paralyzed by them. The market may slow down short-term, but there's still opportunity out there. Invest in companies with deep moes, companies that are hard to replace, companies with loyal users, visionary leaders, and technological dominance.
That's where you win long term. So, that's my breakdown of the Tom Lee interview, his view on market consolidation, the impact of geopolitical risks, and why Tesla and Nvidia are still elite plays in today's market. Let me know in the comments. Are you still bullish on Tesla or Nvidia? And do you think we'll see a market pullback this summer? Now, let's dive in and talk about the best AI stock to buy now and grow your portfolio. AI is rewriting the rules of every industry. And behind the headlines, there's one company quietly positioning itself to become the backbone of this trillion dollar transformation.
If you've been wondering where the next big AI breakout could come from, stick with me. By the end of this video, you'll have a clear understanding of the opportunity, why analysts are raising their price targets, and how this stock might just be the most underrated player in the AI space today. Here's a quick question to get us going.
Do you think Nvidia will stay on top of the AI world, or is another company getting ready to steal the crown? Let me know your take in the comments. I'm really curious to hear what you think. Now, let's get into it. The AI revolution is in full swing. We're seeing AI powered tools change how we work, how we consume content, even how we invest.
Companies like Microsoft, Google, and Meta are racing to build and scale large language models. And all of them are hungry for one thing, computational power. And while Nvidia's GPUs have dominated headlines, the company I want to focus on today is Advanced Micro Devices, better known as AMD, AMD has been quietly making massive moves in the AI space, and Wall Street is finally starting to take notice.
Just this week, analysts at Wells Fargo hiked AMD's price target from $190 to $200. Why? Because their new MI300X AI chips are finally gaining traction and could give Nvidia some serious competition. Now, here's what makes this so exciting. The MI300X chip is designed for the most demanding AI workloads.
Think massive data center operations, deep learning models, generative AI. It's AMD's answer to Nvidia's H100, and it's already being adopted by major players like Microsoft and Meta. In fact, Microsoft is now using AMD's AI chips alongside Nvidia's to power its Azure AI infrastructure. A huge signal that AMD is no longer playing catch-up.
It's in the game, and the game is only just beginning. Let's talk numbers. AMD's total addressable market in AI accelerators is expected to hit $400 billion by 2027. That's a huge leap from where it is today. If AMD can capture even a modest slice of that market, say 10 to 15%, you're looking at tens of billions in potential annual revenue.
Meanwhile, AMD CEO Lisa Sue has made it clear that AI is the company's top strategic priority. They're doubling down on software, expanding partnerships, and aggressively rolling out new product lines designed specifically for AI. And unlike Nvidia, which is already priced for perfection, AMD still has room to run.
At the time of this recording, AMD is trading at a valuation far more attractive for long-term investors. You're not paying a 70x multiple like you would with some other AI plays. That gives you both growth potential and margin of safety. But here's what I really want you to think about. We are still in the early innings of the AI boom.
Just like cloud computing in 2010 or mobile tech in the early 2000s, the real gains will go to investors who act before the breakout becomes obvious to everyone else. And that's exactly where AMD sits right now. Not hyped, not overbought, just quietly executing on a world-class road map, gaining market share, and building the next generation of AI chips that everyone from Meta to Microsoft wants to use.
Still not convinced? Let's zoom out. Over the last 5 years, AMD has grown its revenue by more than 300%. It's consistently improved gross margins, maintained a rock-solid balance sheet, and navigated industry headwinds better than almost any other chip maker. And now with the world pivoting toward AI and edge computing, AMD has the tech, the talent, and the timing on its side.
With a current market cap of over $254 billion and a share price sitting around $156.99, AMD has been making major waves recently, and it's catching a lot of attention from Wall Street. Even more interesting, that price is still roughly 73% below its fair value estimate of $27,165. That signals some serious upside potential.
In just the past month alone, AMD shares have surged by over 24%, contributing to a solid 30.8% gain year to date. This isn't just random noise. It's a clear sign of growing investor confidence and strong bullish momentum behind the stock. One of the biggest catalysts driving this optimism, a fresh price target hike from City.
Analysts there bumped up their expectations for AMD, pointing to the company's impressive rally off its April lows. And let's be honest, when major institutions start raising targets, you know something is shifting under the surface. The AI story here is impossible to ignore. AMD's Mi series chips, especially the MI325X and the upcoming Mi350, are starting to build some serious momentum.
These products are being embraced by major cloud providers and enterprise clients, pushing AMD deeper into the AI and data center space, where Nvidia has traditionally dominated. Plus, AMD is set to resume shipments of its MI38 chips to China, unlocking another layer of growth. The timing couldn't be better.
As the semiconductor sector continues to rally, largely fueled by explosive demand for AI chips, AMD is breaking out of technical resistance levels that had held it down for over a year. It's clear the market is responding big time. Between the strong rally, analyst upgrades, and growing traction in AI and data center markets, AMD is shaping up to be more than just a comeback story.
It's positioning itself as a serious contender in the next wave of tech innovation. Whether you're a trader looking for momentum or a long-term investor betting on AI's future, AMD is definitely a name you'll want to keep on your radar. So, here's the bottom line. If you missed Nvidia's first wave, if you're looking for a highquality AI stock that hasn't gone parabolic yet, and if you want to invest in a company with proven leadership and real product market fit in AI, then AMD is one stock to seriously consider buying.
Now, of course, this isn't financial advice. Always do your own research and consider your risk tolerance. But for investors with a long-term mindset, AMD is looking more and more like the next big player in the AI race. So, what do you think? Is AMD the next AI giant in the making? Or do you think another company has a better shot at dethroning Nvidia?
