01. Dan Ies just dropped a major warning. He says Apple's facing a BlackBerry moment when it comes to AI. That's a bold statement coming from the global head of tech research at Wedbush. In his recent CNBC interview on Fast Money, Dan digs into Apple's AI strategy and questions whether it's too late for this tech giant to catch up in the rapidly evolving AI race.

02. In this video, I'll first show you the clip of Dan Ies breaking down Apple's position. then stick around because I'm going to give you my full reaction and detailed breakdown of what he really means. Plus, I'll share my in-depth analysis of two tech stocks to buy right now that are well positioned for the AI future.

05. All right, let's hear what Dan Ies has to say. Let's bring in Dan Ies, Wed Bush's global head of technology research. Dan, great to see you. Great to see your outfit, too. It's always fun to see what you're wearing. Thank you. Um, it's interesting that you come out with this note and you say, is this going to be is there a Blackberry moment waiting for Apple?

06. Which really implies the worst situation for a tech stock after a massive rally here. This doesn't alleviate any of those concerns. Look, I think the biggest look, there was a huge concern on tariff playing nice in the sandbox with Trump that clearly has alleviated that in terms of the India, the China tariffs and you've seen the stock lift from it and it was way oversold.

07. But the elephant in the room, it's this AI revolution, this strategy right now, it's essentially invisible for Apple. And you think about everything that we see in big tech across the board. It's an F1 race passing them by and Apple's essentially in Cook on a park bench drinking lemonade. So our view is whether it's perplexity doubling down on Google despite DOJ and other antirust issues bringing new management in under Cook, they got to do something because time ultimately we're talking about 3 to 6 months that they have to make a big move if they stay on the treadmill.

08. And I think that it does cap some of the upside. One of the things is you say do the perplexity acquisition. Can they get there um effectively having some sort of AI search available on its iPhones on its devices without making acquisition? No. I mean I I look I just continue there's a better chance of me playing in Ryder Cup in September than Apple innovating internally on AI.

09. I think that's there's a 100% chance that that is not happening internally. So then it comes down to like for a company that has never acquired beats three billion biggest acquisition. You got to rip the bandit off. In other words, now's the change because I can tell you from talking to developers, everything we see in the ecosystem, it has to be acquisitions.

10. And it can't be small deals, undisclosed. Two years from now, we're still waiting for this. You have the biggest install base in the world. You have 1.5 billion iPhones. This is the time. And look, and I continue to think I think Cook should be CEO. We believe he's been a Hall of Fame CEO and should continue to be, but it will tarnish his legacy and the Apple future if they miss out on the fourth industrial revolution that's right in front of us.

11. Tim has a question. Dan, looking sharp as usual. Question for you is should we are we too focused at the multiple here? Have investors been too focused for the last 6 to9 months? As you said, there's there should be urgency to where they sit, but the the the rest of the sector multiples don't really seem to matter.

12. Is this a problem? Well, Tim, to me, it's really about they're missing AI. So, when it comes to Palunteer and Microsoft, Godfather Edgson, and Nvidia, you could continue look at the growth next two, three years because we're talking about trillions that's going to be spent in the next 3 years. Apple's nowhere when it comes to AI.

13. That's why the multiple is going to continue to be under focus because you don't have that that's now playing out. And I think when we were WWDC and Certino, you left there thinking like, okay, was I just in back to the future because that fundamentally is the problem right now for Apple. So, first off, Dan Ies really kicks things off by raising this provocative question.

14. Is Apple facing a BlackBerry moment? Now, for those who might need a refresher, the BlackBerry moment refers to the downfall of BlackBerry, a company that was once the king of smartphones, but got left in the dust because it failed to keep up with innovation, especially as touchscreens and new technologies took over.

15. That's a huge claim for Apple, especially after their massive stock rally. And Dan isn't sugarcoating it. What really stood out to me was his point about Apple's current AI strategy, or really the lack thereof. Dan describes the AI revolution as an elephant in the room that's basically invisible for Apple right now.

16. He paints this vivid picture. All the other big tech players are like race cars speeding ahead in an F1 race while Apple is just sitting on a park bench sipping lemonade. It's a pretty striking metaphor. He highlights that Apple's biggest competitor moves in AI like Google doubling down with Perplexity and other AI search technologies are setting a pace that Apple is seemingly not matching.

17. And the time window here is critical. According to Dan, Apple has maybe three to six months to make a big move or risk being left behind. It's not just about keeping up. It's about not missing the boat on what he calls the fourth industrial revolution, which is driven heavily by AI. Then comes the discussion around acquisitions, a big deal for Apple because historically they've been very conservative about buying companies.

18. Beats, for example, was a rare and massive acquisition for them at $3 billion. Dan is saying that Apple can't innovate its way out of this AI gap internally. He's basically betting that Apple will have to make significant acquisitions to catch up. And not small, quiet deals, but big bold moves. This isn't just about AI search on iPhones or integrating some new feature here or there.

19. It's about fundamentally repositioning themselves in a tech ecosystem that's evolving fast. He even makes this interesting personal call out. Tim Cook, who Dan still respects as a Hall of Fame CEO, faces a potential legacy risk here. If Apple misses this AI wave, it could tarnish what Cook has built over the years.

20. That's a serious warning. You don't often hear that about Apple's leadership because frankly, Cook has been very successful, but AI is a different beast, and Dan's making it clear that it demands urgency. Then there's the question about valuation multiples, the price investors are willing to pay for Apple's stock relative to its earnings and growth.

21. Dan points out that unlike other AI focused giants, think Microsoft, Nvidia, Palanteer, Apple's multiples are stuck because investors don't see that AI growth potential baked into the stock. While those other companies are riding the AI wave, Apple is, in his words, nowhere on AI. This lack of AI momentum puts a ceiling on Apple's upside from an investment standpoint.

22. This also explains why the multiples on other tech stocks aren't really being questioned as much. Investors are comfortable paying up for companies that show strong AI growth trajectories. Apple, by contrast, is still seen as playing catch-up, so investors are hesitant to bid the price higher until Apple proves it's in the race.

23. And the bit about WWDC, Apple's worldwide developer conference is telling too. Dan says that after attending, he was left questioning whether Apple has the urgency or innovative spark to compete in AI. That's pretty harsh considering WWDC is typically where Apple showcases its biggest new tech announcements and future vision.

24. For an analyst like Dan to walk away with doubts says a lot. To sum it all up, Dan Ies's interview is a wake-up call for Apple and its investors. Despite Apple's current dominance and massive installed base of over 1.5 billion devices, the AI revolution is moving so fast and with such force that simply resting on past laurels won't cut it anymore.

25. If Apple doesn't pivot quickly through acquisition or innovation, it risks losing its edge and worse, its valuation premium in the market. This interview highlights a broader theme in tech right now. AI isn't just a feature or a buzzword. It's shaping the next decade of growth and leadership. Companies that move fast and decisively will thrive, while those that hesitate risk repeating history, just like BlackBerry.

26. So, if you're an Apple fan or investor, this is definitely something to keep a close eye on. How Apple responds in the coming months will say a lot about its future. And for the rest of us, it's a fascinating glimpse into the shifting tech landscape and what the next chapter could look like. That's my take on Dan Ies's interview.

27. What do you guys think? Is Apple really sitting on that park bench, or do they have some secret sauce up their sleeves? Drop your thoughts in the comments below. And if you enjoyed this breakdown, be sure to hit like and subscribe for more deep dives like this. Let's start with the undisputed champion of social media, a company so dominant it had to change its name to reflect its cosmic ambitions.

28. I'm talking about Meta Platform's ticker symbol Meta. With over 3.2 billion daily active users across its family of apps, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger, Meta has a grip on human attention that is simply unparalleled. The leadership here is key. Mark Zuckerberg is a visionary, a founder who is still at the helm, steering this massive ship with a long-term perspective.

29. While the world was busy making fun of his metaverse ambitions, he was patiently laying the groundwork, investing billions into the technology that will define our digital future. That's the kind of captain I want to sail with. Now, let's talk about the core business because it is an absolute cash printing machine.

30. The advertising engine at Meta is one of the most sophisticated and effective in the world. It allows businesses of all sizes from the corner bakery to the multinational corporation to reach their exact target audience with pinpoint accuracy. The sheer network effect of Meta's platforms creates a self-reinforcing cycle of growth.

31. More users attract more content creators and businesses which in turn attracts even more users. If the advertising business is Meta's powerful present, then the metaverse and artificial intelligence are its explosive future. This is where things get really exciting, folks. While critics scoffed, Zuckerberg was playing chess, investing in the foundational technologies of the next computing platform.

32. Imagine a world where you can attend a business meeting, a concert, or a family gathering from anywhere, all in a rich, immersive digital space. That's the future Meta is building. Now, let's talk about the other side of the coin. Artificial intelligence. AI is the rocket fuel for everything Meta does.

33. It powers the recommendation algorithms that keep users engaged on Facebook and Instagram. It optimizes the ad delivery system to maximize revenue. And it is the brains behind the future of the metaverse. Meta is an AI powerhouse with its own open-source large language model, Llama, which competes with the best in the world.

34. Meta Platforms with a market cap of $ 1.94 trillion is posting strong financial numbers boasting earnings per share of $2829 and a price to earnings ratio of 27.17. Revenue for 2024 is expected to reach an impressive 164.5 billion with net income coming in at 62.36 billion. The company has been making some strategic moves lately.

35. It's expanding its data center footprint in a big way, securing $29 billion in financing through partnerships with PIMCO and Blue Alowl Capital, aimed at boosting infrastructure in areas like rural Louisiana. This signals confidence in long-term growth. On the innovation front, Meta has acquired AI audio startup waveforms, strengthening its artificial intelligence capabilities, particularly within its super intelligence labs.

36. These AI advancements are tightly aligned with the company's focus on AIdriven advertising strategies. Off the back of a strong second quarter earnings report, analyst sentiment has turned even more bullish with several upgrades to the stock. While Meta still faces legal challenges, and ongoing debates around user privacy, its robust earnings, strategic investments, and leadership in AI position it for continued success in the tech sector.

37. When you buy a share of Meta, you're not just buying a piece of a company. You're buying a piece of the global social fabric. You're investing in a deeply entrenched platform that has become a fundamental utility for communication, entertainment, and commerce in the 21st century. The bears have been wrong about this one time and time again, and they're about to be proven wrong once more.

38. All right, let's pivot to our second stock, the one that has the entire internet buzzing. I'm talking about the front page of the internet, the wild, wonderful, and absolutely essential platform known as Reddit. Ticker symbol RDDDT. This is the one people. For years, we watched this company grow from a niche forum into a cultural phenomenon, a sprawling collection of communities or subreddits dedicated to every topic imaginable.

39. From stock market speculation on r/wall street bets to expert advice on home improvement, Reddit is where real conversations happen. And now, after its long-awaited IPO in early 2024, you finally have a chance to own a piece of it. Reddit is unlike any other social media platform. It's not about broadcasting a polished version of your life.

40. It's about authentic communitydriven discussion and content. With over 73 million daily active users and more than 100,000 active communities, Reddit has a unique and powerful network effect that is incredibly difficult to replicate. Now, let's dig into the real secret sauce for Reddit. The ace up its sleeve that could make this stock an absolute monster.

41. I'm talking about its data. Reddit possesses one of the largest and most unique corpuses of human conversation on the planet, updated in real time every single second. In the age of artificial intelligence, this kind of highquality contextual data is not just valuable, it's priceless. It's the digital equivalent of striking oil.

42. AI companies are starving for highquality training data to build the next generation of large language models. Guess who has the best source? That's right, RDDT. The company has already started to capitalize on this, signing a landmark data licensing deal with Google worth a reported $60 million per year.

43. This is just the beginning. This deal serves as a proof of concept, validating the immense value of Reddit's content archive and opening the door for similar deals with every other major AI player in the game. This dual engine growth story is what makes RDDT so compelling for 2025. As more AI data licensing deals are announced and the core advertising business matures, the revenue growth could be explosive.

44. Reddit has a market capitalization of about 41.25 billion, earnings per share of $1.20, and a high price to earnings ratio of 185.35, reflecting aggressive growth expectations. In 2024, it's projected to generate $1.3 billion in revenue, though it's still operating at a net loss of roughly $484 million for the year.

45. That said, the company just had a huge win. On July 31st, 2025, Reddit posted its most profitable quarter ever, with net income hitting $89 million. This pushed its trailing 12-month net income to $216 million, a massive turnaround from a loss of more than 500 million the previous year. Wall Street analysts are taking notice with optimism growing around future performance and forecasts predicting revenue to jump to 2.1 billion in 2025.

46. That's a 24% increase from last year. On the technical side, Reddit's stock recently triggered a golden cross where the 50-day moving average moves above the 200-day moving average, often seen as a bullish sign for more upside ahead. Despite some ongoing legal challenges, the combination of improved financial performance, strong analyst sentiment, and favorable technical indicators paints a promising short-term outlook for Reddit.
