right so we have moonpay which a really cool company that allows users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies using conventional payment methods like credit cards bank transfers and mobile wild such as apple pay and google pay right it's pretty cool technology it's not revolutionary lots of companies do this nevertheless moon pay is being valued at 3.4 billion after its latest capital raise why well that capital raise include 87 million combined funding from 60 celebrities 60 celebrities that includes justin bieber paltrow snoop dogg ashton kutcher you guys know their names on this list chain smokers drake eva lagoria jason derulo who puts his name in every single song he sings kate hudson paris hilton uh matthew mcconnery uh shawn mendes you know just huge huge huge and influential names so dan i'm going to ask you how do you think this is going to play out similar to coinbase's ipo it'll rally if that's their plan and i'm assuming so they're going to yeah they're gonna go public at some other time and investors will cash out yeah so they're raising this money pre-round this is called pre-round they do series a b c d e f you know early funding rounds and a b c they go up whatever g h i keep whatever you know the alphabet you keep going and going they keep going up right so now they they did a capital raise and it's recently good for moon pay right you raise money but here's how this is going to play out and there's nothing the problem is everything they do in here is perfectly legal yeah okay and here we go and here's how this is going to play out so bieber has 200 million instagram followers snoop dogg 50 million drake 50 million kuch has 5 million but probably more influential when it comes to you know credit investors and things like that right so all these guys together collectively have hundreds of millions of files and most of these are kids right so the hundred million followers of social media whether it's instagram it's a tick tock's on fire now uh you're looking at facebook which facebook is kind of old time for these people on this list right that's old school facebook and you know some of them have twitter accounts so here's how it's going to play out you have all these guys that justin bieber they're all going to be pumping the [ __ ] out of this on their social media platforms to hundreds of millions of mostly kids right mostly kids who some of them haven't bought cryptos some haven't bought any names at all and it's going to come out not as crypto probably as a stock right it's going to come out and they're going to inflate the valuation tremendously right before they launch this thing right right before moon pay goes public again all this [ __ ] is perfectly legal just like coinbase did it which the ipo price was set at 250 but it opened at 380.
kathy wood bought it at 270. it's 150 now right so everyone who bought it at that open which is a lot of people on that platform a lot of young people got absolutely wrecked just like robin hood which opened at 38 and went to 70 two days later all the hype all the kids i want to get in this thing and you know they were allowing their people on their platforms to get into these things and where's robin hood right robin open 38 went to say it's 11 bucks today right so you got [ __ ] destroyed the system is broken okay the sec is asleep at the wheel i mean these companies the marketing campaigns they're devised to get all these suckers in that don't know better while these celebrities and insider [ __ ] are making an absolute fortune buying in the private market and then selling to these hundreds of millions of followers okay this is the game plan it's easy right you never saw all these celebrities get now social media is so powerful that it's worth hey see if this guy wants to come in for half a million see if it was coming for a million which is nothing to these guys and they're getting if you look at all these ipos recently you have to see the influential names that are in i mean even at coinbase when it comes to just i mean ashton kutcher and where they're getting into these things but they're able to get in so cheap and then they'll use that influence to get all these people to buy [ __ ] out of it and make it so exciting when it comes out and then all these kids and young investors who don't know better you could say well it's their fault they don't know better well you know what they're following you they're [ __ ] following you because they believe in you because you influence them you know you're the hero to some of these people right they trust you they love what you're doing and what you're doing is basically pumping this [ __ ] at a price that's much much much much much much higher than what you bought it at and you're gonna sell it at before all these people and your entire list gets in and you know what that's [ __ ] up i'm sorry and it's perfectly legal and that's why when you're looking at public and private traded companies and this is why i started this podcast right because yeah i'm trying to level the playing field and when i see [ __ ] like this and spax and chamfer is another one you forget it i mean that guy's brilliant at just an absolute fortune and destroying everyone who follows him right that's what he did you know you look at uh virgin galactic holy cow standing up there with their thumbs this is the greatest thing everyone's going to space they're out of he's gone he's out of the stuff right he's out of the stuff 150 million 200 cashed out that thing went to 50 60 whatever where is it today single digits i mean i don't even know where it is they're not even gonna get enough i mean are they going to space anytime soon probably not probably for another year too i mean how many people are going to get up to space even if they pay a million dollars each and you're looking at a multi-billion dollar valuation of a stock that's generating what two million in sales over the past 12 months give me a break but they pumped the [ __ ] out of this and for me i look at the sec and they're asleep at the wheel and it's factored into crypto too daniel i mean we see the same thing in crypto with all these pump and dump schemes right absolutely this let's have some fun here i'll play devil's advocate frank because similar to what we've talked about in the past with regulations and things like that to your point they're not doing anything illegal uh it's it's we we've had a lot of fun with it and called it out and called out bad behavior in the past about either short selling or the pump and dup schemes because in the newsletter business frank like i said it's not illegal if we wanted to play that side of game we could put a small disclaimer and small fine print you say hey we may or may not own or benefit off of this if this moves in that and you can go after smaller market cap stocks so to clarify i love you're fired up i love how passionate you are it's not that it's illegal it's just shady as hell and it's bad behavior okay totally agree ethical the thing that bothers me is i think it's worse than being illegal because if it's a legal fight i'm taking a chance and i don't give a [ __ ] if i go to jail i'm going to try to make a lot of money at least your intentions are set what these guys are doing is they're building this [ __ ] up to the people who love them and follow them the most right everybody you know if you start your business you have your file you have your emails you have people who love you you know you you're basically telling all those people and hyping it up and trying to get them in this thing so you can make an absolute fortune on them you're getting in early right which that's against sec rules right i mean not the way they're doing it but you know pump and dump schemes well i'm getting it early and you know don't know if the investment business right you're getting it early and before everybody and then you're selling it ahead of everybody right so you know because when you sell it now you tell what else to sell because if you tell everyone else to sell first thing's probably gonna crash especially if it's a tiny little thing a tiny little stock or a small cap but that's like the ethical part of what these people are doing it just amazes me of how you know they're signing up and they're going to promote this but they're not buying it when they're promoting it to their investors they own it already and they own it a much much cheaper price in the private market so you're having access to this and these are the same people which is funny right because we have this whole work agenda in hollywood and all this [ __ ] right there they're saying all these people have extreme benefits that's not an extreme benefit to you yeah you're a [ __ ] a credit investor and you're buying this [ __ ] ahead of all those people who love you and follow you on social media and then you're going to lie to them and tell them that hey buy this [ __ ] it's awesome here you're not buying it there and then you're going to sell it and then they're going to go on and go win an award on [ __ ] whatever event and say hey you know what the millionaires are the billionaires or this and that and and you know like criticize them oh they have special rights and you should tax them more and this and that you know it's so [ __ ] fake and that's what i really hate about that's why i was so emotional about it it's you know in crypto we look at dogecoin right dosecoin is trading at 0.009 right in january 202.009 so it ran up to 45 cents ahead of elon musk's send out live appearance i can't tell you how many people daniel came up to me that never bought a stock or crypto friends family members oh this doge thing should i buy even a couple of employees should i buy it ahead of time that's how great they did on the marketing campaigns right and i went to 60 70 cents whatever i think it's 10 cents now but when you look at crypto the benefit of crypto is you can get in ahead of the institutions and i could tell you one thing that i don't think is talked about enough and one of these things that we want to present when it comes to crypto is shiva you know right so that story and and i always pronounce it wrong or whatever but you guys know what i'm talking about so i know a guy who made an absolute fortune several million dollars on that by putting in you know a couple of thousand dollars it's a great story and yet he told me this story he goes you know what he's like i talked to someone the other day and they said they got murdered on chiba they got murdered on it and they bought and he was looking at going wow that's funny because that was the biggest hit in my life and then he started having this conversation and it was funny because once that started getting popular what happens then coinbase then all these exchanges they want just like with dogecoin right we got to trade the security they're not putting it on their platform because they think it's a great buy they're putting on a platform because it trades enormously and they make a fortune off the trading fee so the time they put it on these platforms that's when most people in crypto 99 of people in crypto right not the people who are die-hards they know how to get this [ __ ] before and sometimes it's tricky using decentralized exchange you have to use pancake swap a unit swap it's tricky and it's hard there's a learning curve there but they're in these things in these there's a lot of cryptos that trade at less than 5 million valuations that are really cool that have cool technology you almost don't know about them but when you do you have to buy them like through these swaps right and you have sometimes they're based on ethereum sometimes it's based on finance and you have to you know they trade based on what binance is trading for now and then once they start building then they get onto these platforms and this guy bought sheep when you know shortly after when it started trading on the major platforms because like holy [ __ ] this thing is trading a lot let's put it on our platforms and they got wrecked and he was thinking he's like how the hell they get wrecked i mean i knew about this so much earlier and he's like it was the greatest position ever and i just when he said that i was ready to share like oh man how much money did you make on this and i made it and then like i got wrecked and he's like you know i got wrecked because the only time that person could buy it is when it started going on these exchanges because they didn't have that learning curve and there's a massive opportunity that we're actually seeing in cryptos and we're in this and you know we're gonna have uh you know i can't really talk too much about it but you guys will know about it in a week or two really really cool stuff but there's so many names within there that you can get in at such low valuations that if you're getting a two three million five million dollar evaluation and these things actually graduate to one of these places i mean you're looking at sheba went from a 200 million value token to 13 billion dollars within a few months within a few months that's crazy please let me know any stock that has done that in a few months and you can go back to even the microsoft years in the amazon years of the 90s i mean holy [ __ ] 200 million to 13 billion valuation in a couple of months but a lot of that valuation and took place afterwards after you know it wasn't trading at 2 million 200 million evaluation where most people could buy it no but that's it it's like these privileges that you see that really really pissed me off but just to have the social media people who people love and you know these guys good actors good singers and entertainers and i get it but what you're doing here is [ __ ] wrong man seriously and someone needs to call you out if you want to be getting the same price you're telling all your followers to get in but the only reason why moon pay is going to you is not because they want to go to your [ __ ] concert they could see it they could virtual stream it they'll pay the thousand dollars to sit in whatever role okay they're getting you in so you pump the [ __ ] out of it see hundreds of millions of people and followers on social media this way it's beneficial to them and they could sell at that open which a lot of these guys could do now there used to be a longer wait period they don't need that longer await period but these guys are making an absolute fortune a killing and this is the playbook now get all these famous people pump the [ __ ] out of it and then dump it and you know what that pisses me off you
