everyone cut your master back to another video for you today so in today's video we're going to talk a bit about nvidia and whether or not it could still be a great buy in 2022. obviously 2020 2021 has been great years to great two years for nvidia the company and the stock alike but going into 2022 is it still a good buy or not we also have this doubt over the company with regards to the rd because because earlier this month we had news break out that the ftc is suing to block that 40 billion dollar deal of nvidia and arm and here are the main reasons so they say here the proposed vertical deal would give one of the largest chip companies control over the computing technology and designs that rival firms rely on to develop their own competing chips the complaint alleges that the proposed merger would give and via the ability and incentive to use its control of this technology to undermine its competitors reducing competition and ultimately resulting in reduced product quality reduced innovation higher prices and less choice also the arm acquisition was already announced a little over a year ago so it has taken some time obviously 40 billion dollar is not a small amount but the longer this drags on the less chance i give it to go through and if it does go through maybe in 2022 i would assume there are some specific rules attached to that acquisition that probably they have stated in their statement whether they can have full control of arm they will have to let competitors continue to use arm as nothing happened etc so if you're basing your investment on the fact that nvidia will acquire arm maybe now is not the best time to buy nvidia stock but let's see what happens in 2022 regardless of this deal nvidia is still an amazing business and we're gonna talk about the two most amazing parts going forward which are omniverse the visual the professional visualization and data centers i'm gonna touch on some things that were mentioned during the earnings call and then let's conclude this video but first i'd like to ask you if you haven't subscribed if you like this video so i'm trying to reach 20 000 subscribers by the end of the year so i would really really appreciate it if you hit that red button it's free and you can always unsubscribe later and i want to thank the motley fool for sponsoring this video the motley all right so let's talk about the two most interesting parts of the business and to me the most interesting part which is omniverse i talked about this a couple of times on this channel if you want to check it out video in the top right corner so let's maybe go a little bit back to their last quarterly earnings and see how well each segment has performed so the gaming segment came in at 3.22 billion dollars data center 2.93 which was up 55 year-over-year gaming was up 42 professional visualization was up 144 year-over-year coming at 577 million dollars then automotive was only up eight percent to 135 million dollars oem and others was up 21 to 234 million which resulted in total revenue to come in at 7.1 billion dollars which is up 50 year over year now if you take that quarter into consideration right now nvidia is trading at 30 times trading 12 months revenue and is growing at 50 revenue year over year so it's not cheap at all great business but not cheap we've talked a bit about this in my last interview with brian ferraldi you can check that out top right corner as well now let's touch on the two main parts that i want to focus on omniverse and data center because like jensen one said those two actually will go hand in hand i will explain how in just a bit so omniverse part let's talk about that let's talk about the omniverse avatar which they have announced recently as well which is very very spectacular so during the earnings score he got answered about the omniverse product and so he answered that omniverse avatars will make it easy for people to integrate some amazing technology for computer vision for speech recognition natural language understanding gesture recognition facial animation and speech synthesis all of that integrated into one system running in real time now that avatar system is essentially a robotic system and the way that you use it for example with 25 million or so retail stores restaurants places like airports and train stations office buildings and such where you're going to have intelligent avatars doing a lot of assistance now behind all of that and here comes the mix of other segments from nvidia behind it are nvidia's gpus in pcs nvidia gpus in cloud and nvidia gpus in omniverse servers so here you have a couple of segments of nvidia's business and continues by saying and my guess would be that the hardware part of it is probably going to be about half and then the licensing part of it is about half of the time so this is really going to be one of the largest graphics opportunities that we've ever seen i think omniverse avatar is going to be really exciting driver for enterprise next year and so next year is going to be a pretty terrific year for data centers also omniverse is a subscription product so it should translate in some great future revenue streams also according to the new worldwide artificial intelligence spending guide from international data corporation this was announced in august the global spending on ai systems will jump from 85.3 billion dollars in 2021 to more than 204 billion dollars in 2025 the compound annual growth rate for 2021 to 2025 period will be 24.5 now don't get me wrong the gaming segment of the business will still be very very significant to the company's growth in the future but you will see data centers and especially professional visualization be a much much bigger part moving forward as well and it's actually very very exciting like i talked in my past videos it really really opens up so many more opportunities and use cases and this is why it makes nvidia such an interesting company this is why the stock has gone up significantly this year this is why the stock is where the companies worth around 800 billion dollars or so not because well they sell fugazi stuff no because the future of this company is going to be potentially and most probably going to be worth trillions of dollars not that said like i said before it's not cheap but if you have a long-term view then i do think that every dip or every crash let's say might be a good opportunity to buy nvidia whether it's 2022 whether it's 2023 that's for you to know but that will be it for this video let me know down in the comments below if you hold nvidia shares if you plan on buying if maybe you have used one of their services let me know down in the comments below and if you like these videos leave it a thumbs up if you haven't subscribed with you all in the next video bye
