I bought another 50 Tesla shares after Tesla Investor Day . Tesla's Investor Day was not well-received by many institutional investors and some retail investors , who felt that Tesla did not announce anything significant. Actually, it felt like this hay under me. But, for us, long-term investors, it looked abundant.
We saw a lot of opportunity in this . Elon Musk has finally announced the long-awaited Master Plan Part Three, which means Tesla won't be limited to just electric vehicles . In fact, electric vehicles make up less than 25% of their goal of moving the entire world towards a more sustainable future . A new compact car is only 10% of their total ambitions.
Tesla announced that it is finding new ways to make cars more cost-effectively, while maintaining margins of around 30%. That means achieving the best margins in the industry, even as average selling prices decline . This is difficult for many institutional investors to understand , because people generally assume that if prices go down, margins will also go down.
Tesla is going to show the world that that won't happen. How are they doing this? They are going to make sure that their next generation of vehicles is made very differently . Even today, Toyota executives describe the process of making the Tesla Model Y and Model 3 as a masterpiece . Like these grapes here , although they look amazing today , building Tesla vehicles in a more modular way will allow for less factory space, lower cost, and greater efficiency, meaning this entire vineyard is ours .
Tesla is going to use a new 48 volt architecture . For the first time, they showed us how they use software in the car to help with the entire manufacturing process. The car communicates with the factory . Moreover, cars now use cameras and sensors to map the physical environment , providing data, training the model, and improving autopilot and eventually full self-driving .
The world's shift towards sustainability and electrification means we'll be mining less rare earth minerals , which is odd because, as Elon Musk says , combustion engines are actually very inefficient. Only 20% of the energy is used to move the car . So as the world moves towards electrification , we are using fewer resources .
We are becoming more efficient. Within a decade, solar power will provide electricity to most parts of the world. All this is happening while Tesla is focused on reducing costs, increasing efficiency, and simplifying things. As Elon Musk and CFO Jack Kirkhorn say , "The best part is the absence of any part ." He said the world knows about the production difficulties encountered in manufacturing the Model 3, but no one knows much about the back-office difficulties.
Looking at how Tesla has reduced costs, simplified, and automated hiring, payroll processes, finance, and contracts, it is clear that it is a very efficient company in terms of investment and cash . As Tesla expands, they will have more funds available to reinvest as more savings are made . Yes, long-term investors ultimately benefit from stock buybacks.
Jackon revealed that all expenses for expansion and growth will be covered, and the remaining excess cash will be used for stock buybacks. The company, which is the most cash-efficient and provides the highest return on investment in the world, has enough cash for massive stock buybacks in the future .
In my opinion, patience is the key. Just as these grapes take time to grow, you should not pick small grapes that are not ripe. For long-term investors , it takes years to see good results . This is a journey of many years. So, taking all of this into consideration, I decided to buy more Tesla stock .
Although stock prices fell after the event , it was still around $190 at the time I recorded this video . It doesn't make much difference to me whether the stock price goes up or down in the coming weeks or months . I decided to wait until 2030 . How do you feel as a long-term investor ?
