We will learn how he transformed from a trader to a successful investor. Let's first look at the topics we are going to cover in this video. In the first point, we will learn about Vijay Kidiya's background and what happened to him that made him leave his training and become an investor.
Second, after becoming an investor, which stocks did Vijay Kidiya buy, which earned him returns of thousands of percent. Third, we will understand Vijay Kidiya's stock selection strategy and investing style and learn whether his portfolio ever went into negative. Fourth, we will analyze the stocks currently in Vijay Kidiya's portfolio.
And in the fifth point, we will learn a lesson from his portfolio that will make us a successful investor. So, without wasting time, let's start the video with the first point. In the world of stock market, some people become investors out of compulsion after suffering huge losses in trading, but among them Only a few individuals become successful investors.
One such name is Vijay Kidiya. He was born in 1959 to a Marwari family in Kolkata. His family was involved in the stockbroking business. Unfortunately, at the age of 19, his father passed away. He had no interest in running the business. One day, after telling his family, he moved from Kolkata to Mumbai to try his hand at trading.
As happens with everyone, Vijay Kidiya also experienced a significant profit. Initially, he made a substantial profit, but over time, that profit turned into a loss. Finally, he incurred a loss of 70,000 in Hindustan Motors shares. This 70,000 was a significant amount at the time. It is said that to avoid bankruptcy in trading, he had to sell his mother's comb to run the household.
There was a time when he didn't even have money to buy milk for his child. He himself revealed this in an interview. After suffering losses in trading, he analyzed the fundamentals of companies. He started analyzing and then his first profitable stock was Punjab Tractor in which he earned a return of โน2500000 percent in which he bought ACC Cement share for โน and sold it for 000 and with this money he bought his first house in Mumbai, bought the second stock Ace Logistics and for the first time took a stake of up to 5 percent in a company and that share increased from 0 to 00 due to which Kedia ji got a return of 15 times, he bought a stock Cera Sanitary Ware which changed his life, he bought this stock in 2003 and recently sold it in 2022 which proved to be a multibagger for him and he earned more than 100 times return in that stock, he says that you should stay in the industries which are growing at any cost and stay away from the companies which are sinking and at any cost does not mean that you should buy at any price, it means that when you buy the shares of a growing company, whether there is a crash of 2020 or During the recession of 2008, you should stay in stocks of your growing industry.
He chooses stocks whose management is good and honest and always chooses small companies with experience and large market potential. Currently, he has 15 stocks in his public holdings, whose net worth is Rs 1621 crore. Now pay attention here, in 2015, his wealth was Rs 264 crore, which his portfolio did not give any return in 5 years.
Even in 2020, the value of his portfolio had reduced to just Rs 214 crore. Now close your eyes and imagine if this happens to you, leave aside your stocks, your total portfolio goes into negative after 5 years. What will you do? And think and keep your answer. We will talk about this in the end. He has invested in these companies, in which his top holdings are Atul Aut, Tejas Networks and Neuland Laboratories.
So, here I will teach you something today through his two companies. Let's talk about Atul Aut. Now pay attention, in 2012, on August 14 On August 16 and August 27, he bought the stock of this company. Let's see in the chart, so here it is, where there was fear, weekly RAI was at 35, he bought it there at 44, then the stock went down further, so he bought it at โน This is what I am telling you, he has made an even series, how to buy the entire stock at the bottom, its link will be available on the i button, you can go and check out from there, after that, if he got good returns, then he kept selling by increasing the quantity slowly, let's see another stock, he bought a Lycos share in September 2012 at โน1 and averaged it down by buying it at 85 on August 5, 2013, so let's see in the chart, I am showing you this stock so that you do not make such a mistake and to show that their stocks also go down, he bought it somewhere here at โน What happened to the stock, after a year it kept falling and fell so much that it reached 65, that is, the stock had fallen 50 from his buying price, I don't believe that anyone has this much They do n't have the patience they showed.
They even averaged down to 85, then it went even lower. But we would have given up. You know this too. But this is what we need to learn from them. After that, a stock bought at โน1 went down to โน1 in two to three years. So, by looking at their portfolios, you must have understood that every star investor's portfolio has the largest investment in two to three stocks.
You can't make a lot of money by allocating equally to 15 to 20 companies. For example, Radhakrishna Dawani's two best stocks are D- Mart and Trent; Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's is Titan; Vijay Kidiya's is Atul Auto right now; Ashish Kacholia's is Shaili Engineering Plastics; and Monish Pahlabaray's is Edelweiss Financial Services.
If you want me to review their lives and portfolios, please write "yes" in the comments. I'll post videos on them as well. We've already reviewed Radha Kishan Damani's portfolio. If you haven't seen it, please watch it. I'll put a link to it in the description and on the i button. And if you found the video useful so far, please like and subscribe.
So I asked you, what would you do if this happened to you, that your portfolio went into negative territory after 5 years? I hope you would have given the bets. Maybe I would have done the same, but if you and I had held on, what a splash our portfolio could make. Let's see what our portfolio could make.
Here we are going to compare the growth charts of five great investors, whom the whole of India follows. These include Radha Kishan Damani, Vijay Kardia, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Monish Parba Rai, and Ashish Kacholia. Vijay Kardia is at the top, and he is the one whose portfolio did not perform well for 5 years.
Ashish Kacholia 's portfolio is at second place, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's is at third place, Radha Kishan Damani's is at fourth place, and Mohnish Phabra's is at fifth place. And this is because everyone has different stocks from different sectors. Sometimes one does well, sometimes another does not. But every good stock has its day.
So the lesson is that if you hold a good company for a long time, then a One day your portfolio will also rise like this and if your portfolio is not doing well right now then there is no need to get sad and sell it but you need to hold it with patience and if you have any query related to stock market then you can ask in the comment, so we will meet again in the next video with some more information, till then bye friends
