01. today no matter what you're invested in palantir being a part of that really not doing so well but that was par for the course on a day like today that pretty much just went straight down palantir has broken through the resistance it held prior not that you're gonna want me giving you technical analysis but basically we had a bit of consolidation down here in the 18 19 dollar range and once we broke through and we actually broke through 17 for the first time since it actually made it past 17 on that first run up this is actually a terrible way of looking at it but i'm not going to spend much time here but basically we are back to november 2020 prices and palantir is below 17 a share i'm gonna have more thoughts on the stock evaluation and pretty much the rest of the company i'll be speaking with dave lee tomorrow on david lee's channel so i'm excited about that we'll get to hear his thoughts as well i'll save the broader discussion for that so basically what i want to cover today is palantir appearing at ces not really appearing but more so actually getting business done which is a great look a really interesting partnership one of the most interesting and exciting partnerships i'll say that i've seen thus far from palantir first though i do want to mention that we got that i saw this tweet was tagged in this tweet business is booming alright so we have legal counsel at palantir saying palantir's commercial business in europe is booming and we have opened two region focused legal council roles to support our rapid growth now we love to hear that but of course more anecdotal than anything else so can't really take that with anything less than a grain of salt i thought that was worth noting since this is an employee for palantir so now we actually before i show you the video that corresponds to this and that's the reason why i waited to make this video explaining the partnership is i was waiting to see if there was a corresponding video there is we're going to get to hear from and we actually have a quote from alex carp at the bottom but i'm getting a little ahead of myself we have hyundai heavy industries group and palantir technologies to establish a big data platform for hhi groups core business so there are two pieces to this there's the first piece which is hhi is actually going to deploy palantir foundry for that big data platform but then the other half which is actually what's going to drive the actual importance for palantir here the reason they're doing this partnership because they're not getting a lot of money for 25 million but the reason they're doing this is they're actually doing a joint venture to commercialize a big data solution now commercialized meaning they'll be able to leverage what they make and what they build in the future which will be uh exciting to see very interesting to see palantir pairing up with a heavy hitter here to develop something with because they really have i mean industry it's in their name they have the industry expertise and they're the ones you would go to right if you're going to say we want to develop this alongside you and we want to get it right so that we can commercialize this together so once again a big data platform for hhi's core businesses including shop building and offshore engineering so then they're going to do this joint venture to promote the big data business platform business in the medium to long term so not anything in the short term but wanted to mention that so the reason i see this as such a big deal is because they had a signing ceremony for this contract for this partnership or whatever you want to call it and it was at ces 2022 consumer electronics show it's always the big event at the beginning of the year lots of exciting stuff gets announced there and basically they had the ceo of hhi holdings and then we had a bunch of other people there and of course executives of volunteers so really a ceremony like this does not happen for no reason i think this is a very important crucial partnership as far as i can tell from the announcement here from the press release that we're looking at and i think the coming together of these figures really signifies that so hhi group will provide the affiliates process expertise as i was just saying and sales know-how whereas palantir will offer software and developmental personnel development personnel once the big data platform for each affiliate is built the two parties plan to create a joint venture that specializes in developing and selling big data platform services so that's how palliative is going to be making money on this all processes from design to production are connected in real time to build a shipyard that enables smart work management where pounder's foundry data platform is applied so a little bit of background there now we had the ceo of hhi saying we expect this partnership to with palutear technologies to substantially improve the competitiveness of core businesses of the group it will be an important turning point in innovation of organizational culture that changes the way we work using data so this is the most bullish thing out of this entire announcement we have this partner that wants to work with palleteers says a working with palutear will substantially improve the competitiveness of their businesses i don't know how else you could say that right this is exactly what palutear's all about this is the reason they're saying that they generate alpha this is why you should work with us so that really is amazing to see that backed up and now we have a quote from alex carp and i've i don't think i've ever seen a quote from alex carp on one of these press releases uh it's usually sham sankar which is great but again highlighting the importance of this announcement is the ceo of palantir leaving a comment on this specific deal being made he says hhi group shaped one of the most significant industries of the 20th century and is absolutely vital to the lives we lead we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to partner with a company that is not only a leader among the world's industrial giants but one whose continued growth and success are critical to our collective welfare and security so there you have it alex carp let's hear from the ceo of palantir that would be sham sankar he got on a bloomberg technology youtube channel well this was just on bloomberg but this is i'm replaying it for you i'll go ahead and play the relevant portion a cut out what's not relevant but here you go the ceo explaining it himself thank you shaum this partnership is very exciting uh represents our first major expansion into korea here we're working with hyundai heavy here to drive the digital transformation of their entire business this is the largest shipbuilder in the world just true feats of engineering the scales of these ships that they're producing a new ship every eight months and everything from how do i produce these ships better faster cheaper how do i manage them in the aftermarket once we've sold them and i think perhaps most excitingly how do we introduce autonomy into uh ship transportation today 80 of all accidents are actually human error and this is this is a big opportunity for the world for commerce for for economies what does this mean for palantirs business and how will it help you expand internationally well it really builds on our track record of working with industrial companies you know i would say skywise the aviation ecosystem that we built with airbus was quite revolutionary it brought together the 15 largest suppliers in aviation with 150 airlines it generates billions of dollars of value for the aviation ecosystem we brought that to automotive and we're super excited to bring that to the shipping industry both on the manufacturing of ships but also the transportation the execution the operation of these vessels as well and all the participants in that ecosystem well and speaking of manufacturing how are supply chain pains impacting palantir and impacting your clients given the number of industries that you touch including now building ships as you know emily we work across 40 different industries and we've had a big role in helping companies with uh supply chains from the very beginning of the pandemic like helping 3m produce ppe helping keep hospitals open and running one of the interesting realities now with omicron is that you're seeing that it's not just about part availability it's about people availability you see that hospitals are struggling to have full levels of staffing and that is actually in a holistic sense a supply chain problem so we are helping people manage parts and people together and i think a big part of that is companies are realizing that these kind of cute sayings of just in time or just in case these are these are just cute sayings the reality is that managing your supply chain is a software problem and and we are bringing that software to the front lines to help them do that part of being at ces for us here is to meet with the semiconductor manufacturers and start seeing how we can help them drive quality and results immediately you're at ces actually this year unlike many companies and executives that decided to present virtually i know that evs are a big theme there you've also got a partnership with wijo which is a connected car platform where are you expecting to see the the most innovations on the ev front what are you looking ahead to i really think about about his mobility broadly speaking everything from autonomous vehicles electric vehicles the connected vehicle data you're seeing a big convergence there and and one of the huge themes that has for us has been leveraging the edge ai capabilities that we've been developing over the last few years all these connected devices are generating so much data people are realizing that that's actually a problem it's too much data to bring back from the vehicles themselves to the cloud so how do you push the analytics to the edge how do you start using those analytics in simulation you know we think about the metaverse from a consumer's perspective most of the time but really one of the more exciting applications are these digital twins or as ouijo calls it the the the uh meta twin that allows cities to look at and simulate what would happen if they change how their traffic lights work based on the on this connected vehicle data that's streaming off or allows ev manufacturers or av uh autonomous vehicle companies to actually do more simulation to understand how they can get more safety under more environments and bring those to market more quickly and we think there's going to be huge opportunity in that space they launched their neural edge product uh at ces and foundry is a big part of that now we're speaking about a year now since palantir went public just looking at the stock dropped by about 21 over the year underperformed the s p do you see that turning around in 2022 what's your outlook ahead we guided in q4 to 40 growth in 21 pretty excited about that i'm pretty excited about the fundamentals of business over 400 million dollars of cash flow was our guide uh you know so i think that the business is performing really well what we focus on is working our tail off to create value every single day we're doing this for the long term you think about a great company like apple they've been around 45 years it took them 30 years to create the first 100 billion dollars of value 12 additional years to create the next trillion in three years on top of that to create the subsequent 2 trillion and so we plan to do this for a long time we have a monastic focus on creating software that the world needs before the world knows it needs it we plan to keep doing that and we think that will be reflected in the long term so there we have it i thought that was definitely a good explanation i always want to play those when i can and that pretty much wraps it up for this video we have the stock once again taking an absolute hit of course no palantir shareholder is feeling great about it right now and really what shawn said at the end here about this being a sort of the long game right it's of course what we're expecting from for him to say as a sort of executive that needs to answer this question that the anchor asks but the way he answers it is kind of troubling antiquating palantir's current position of course not directly but slightly to the way in which apple's his history and trajectory actually played out saying that it took apple 30 years to reach a 100 billion dollar market cap now pound tears at a 34 billion dollar market cap so i really hope you're not saying or implying or by any stretch that it would take any number of decades to get to 100 billion valuation that kind of put me off i know that's not what he's trying to say but pretty much what he's saying is if you're focused on the long term the scale is really so much bigger so that's where i'll leave it let me know your thoughts on that and the rest of the video until next time
