The world knows by now Mr Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is no more 14th august is actually a very sad day for many investors like me he was the guru for many people big or small and when he passed away the world shattered all those people he was famously known as big bull of India there has never been a bigger optimist than him when it comes to India's growth story i really hope there'll be more and more people joining this India's growth story wagon very soon this video is about my personal learning from Mr Rakesh Jhunjhunwala whatever i could read whatever i could hear from him please do watch the video till the end one of the key things that is always mentioned in all his interviews is that you should always try different things there is nothing called this is right and this is wrong and when it comes to markets he always used to believe that market in the longer run is actually very rational in the shorter term yes market goes out market goes down there are times it becomes very irrational but if you're a firm believer in that particular company or the stock that you're investing in in the long run if your belief is true and the company performs according to those belief the markets will reward you in the right way therefore he always says that at the end of the day market is going to be rational Bhav Bapche the second point that I've learned from him especially during this big startup funding drama that is happening all around India is that capitals don't drive businesses businesses are created by good management who have the competitive ability to create a niche for themselves in the market we always used to believe that if you are good at something continue to believe in the story that you're trying to build in and create a competitive advantage or mode around it so that when it comes to competition you're not going to be affected because of the competition if you see his history of investing he is always invested in businesses that had competitive advantage the biggest success story is Titan today tell me how many companies can replicate the success of Titan and that's one of the key reasons why the man who started with 5000 rupees was worth 32000 crores when he actually passed away the third point which i want to emphasize a lot is about taking risks risk doesn't mean that you just put your money all around in every stock he always used to say that you invest in companies after taking calculated risks.

Risk obviously leads to returns but risk can also lead to capital erosion there is a reason why he always used to be unemotional about his investments he never attached a lot of importance to losses or profits that's a very same reason why his Titan is worth about 8 000 crores he never cut the company's holdings he always believed in investing in good companies even if it meant short-term losses but when it comes to risk one thing he always tells is that okay you do your analysis you do a lot of thorough checking on the company everything but don't leverage your investments leverage leads to permanent capital erosion therefore he always used to say take calculated risks don't leverage yourself and if it is loss or profit don't be emotional about it one thing which i really liked which i also strongly believe is that he never liked cryptos he always used to believe that any country whether big or small will not allow some other digital currency to take over the currency and therefore he never advised or suggested crypto as an investment allocation of course a lot of youngsters were enthralled and you know very attracted to crypto as a as an investment but honestly he never approved of it and i think that's a same suggestion because i also don't like crypto as much the final and the most important point is do try do make mistakes but do learn from those mistakes that you're making it's a mistake to not learn from the mistakes i think though he applied this beautifully to investing when it came to health he actually somewhere missed this point it is not that he was not conscious of that in many places in many interviews in many public gatherings he's always said that wish i had given more emphasis on health over wealth but unfortunately i think he was a little late to this party he couldn't actually focus a lot on his health and today unfortunately India therefore lost a legend while his guru was Dmart owner Radha Krishna Damani i'm sure Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is a guru of many many investors and in fact there is a fraternity that lives and swears by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala i'm sure he's on the way to heaven and with this video i really want to thank whatever he has done to our investment fraternity rest in peace Rakesh Jhunjhunwala
