The blitz poll is over. Are you ready , Steve? Dad, tell me about Tyler from New York. Tyler, Jim, this is my first time calling, although I 've been listening for a long time, and I'm a member of the club . Jim, I wanted to get your thoughts on this startup company that's using AI to try to change a multi-trillion dollar industry.
Jim, the growth in customer numbers is impressive, and the story is getting more and more interesting. Jimbo, summer is here. It's hot outside. So tell me, Jim, what do you think about LMS? Frankly , I wish they would start making money. I mean, that would be nice. You know , it would change my view of it if they started making a profit.
It would have made the stock and the company better, but you presented it just perfectly. Let's move on to Ned from Ohio. Ned, Professor Kramer, good to hear from you again, sir. How is your day? How is my day? I have to be honest with Midland. I did a little bit of this, a little bit of that . Mostly that.
This is a steal from another show . Continue. Sorry. Good. Well, I was afraid that nothing would work out today because I was in line to talk to you on Tuesday and then on Wednesday. So until today I had 0 out of two, and now I have one out of three. Dude, that's 333 average . And the people in the phone department are just fabulous.
I love the people on the forum. Yes, sir. I wanted to ask you about a company that pays a solid dividend of around 3.7%. It owns or controls millions of acres of forest land. It is engaged in the production of lumber for commercial and residential construction. They are in real estate. Their share price has fallen a bit , but it seems to me that it would be a pretty good buy at that interest rate, and it has the potential to grow over time.
The company is called Weyerhaeuser, sir. Oh, Weyerhaeuser. Okay, here's the problem. Weyerhaeuser . If rates go up, these stocks go down, and people think rates will be higher. If you think rates will eventually go down, then you should start buying these stocks right now. I'm more bullish on them than the rest of Wall Street.
Let's move to S from New York. S Jim, how are you? All is well, my friend. What's new? Nothing special. Good. A couple of weeks ago, you had the CEO of FedEx Freight on the show. Yes, great. But you guys, he was awesome. I mean, that was cool. You talked about all the autonomous routes they serve, but there was just one problem, Jim.
We didn't talk about the company that operates these routes for FedEx Freight and how successful these routes are, the on-time percentage, the safety percentage, and all the great partnerships that this company has. Jim, it's time to invite Chris Urmson, one of the co-founders of Waymo. It's time to invite Chris to your show.
Jim, what do you think about Aurora Innovation and inviting Chris? I'm calling him right now. I can't even wait. I'll wait until the end of the show. We'll invite this guy to the show. I'm not going to draw any conclusions about Aurora Innovation until I invite Chris Urmson, who, by the way , is the founder of Waymo.
I'm really going to question this guy. I'll bring him to justice, but I won't pass judgment until he's on the show. That's it. Now let's move on to Harvey from Arizona. Harvey, nice talking to you, Jim. Enjoy the show. Thank you. Well, we'll probably just talk about stocks. I mean, we've already started talking, right?
Yes. Yes. Well, I called you, I'm an old engineer, so I like Carpenter Technology, the symbol CRS. Me too. And not just because CarTech is one of the best companies in Philadelphia. You have great company there. And the schedule is great too. I think I would buy some now and buy more. if the price drops, but it's definitely worth adding a little right now.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, concludes the blitz round. The blitz round is sponsored by Charles Schwab. Next, could it help and in the last few weeks the stock has risen about 15% in July. Yesterday it reached a new all-time high. We were higher this morning. In fact, we hit a record this morning before retreating, as you can see here.
We are losing some momentum. We are ahead of Nvidia. We are behind Nvidia again. It didn't last long at the top, but who knows? Anything can happen. Apple has been receiving a lot of praise lately. Obviously, this is reflected in the share price. Many Street analysts believe that perhaps they will start to get it right this next cycle.
It is clear that the company is also starting to take some steps in China to find alternative memory sources. According to reports, Apple Intelligence has just received the green light there. This helped Chinese ADRs. So, there's a lot going on around Apple , but it got a rating boost this morning. This is the focus of morning trading.
Jenny Horn joins us to break down this memo in more detail . Good morning, Jenny. Tell us what the analysts said today. Yes. Yes. Yes. I mean, the enthusiasm for Apple is still definitely there . I know, as you mentioned, we're swinging back and forth , although the session is still relatively stronger than the overall market.
With Apple stock still rising a bit right now , hitting a new all-time high today, as you mentioned, of $334.99 per share, breaking yesterday's record, we continue to see a real divergence between Apple and other true hyperscalers. But HSBC made an optimistic comment, raising its rating on Apple shares from "hold" to "buy" with a significantly higher price target—to $366 from $260.
So, obviously, that's much closer to the price the stock has risen to in the last couple of weeks. Something very unusual is happening with Nvidia right now. For years, one of the main arguments against owning these stocks was valuation. Many have looked at Nvidia's explosive growth, huge market cap, and dominant position in artificial intelligence, concluding that too much optimism was already reflected in the price.
But now the conversation is starting to change as it becomes at the center of building a global s to grow . Hyperscalers are preparing to spend huge sums, and yet Nvidia's valuation has fallen significantly compared to what it was in the early stages of the AI boom, creating an interesting situation.
The company did not suddenly lose its technological leadership. The development of AI has not stopped. Data centers are not disappearing, and the world's largest technology companies are not abandoning their infrastructure plans. Instead, investors' attention shifted. Money that used to go to Nvidia has flowed into stocks of memory make businesses, and other parts of the AI supply chain.
To some extent, Nvidia has become a victim of its own success. The market has become so accustomed to Nvidia's history that investors have begun looking for the next opportunity, and that search has led them straight to the point of remembering that the AI revolution doesn't just run on GPUs. You can build the most advanced accelerators in the world, but without sufficient memory, networking capacity, and manufacturing capabilities, that computing system will not be able to operate at full capacity.
That's why Micron has become such an important part of the AI investment debate. The demand for advanced memory has created extraordinary conditions. The supply has become stable, and customers need more capacity. Prices rose, and memory manufacturers gained a significant bargaining advantage. This combination has created impressive expectations for Micron's future cash flows.
If the company generates a significant portion of the huge free cash flow projections being talked about, Micron will face a problem that most businesses would love to have. What to do with all this money, and the answer starts with investments? Micron needs more capacity, the industry needs more memory, and the expansion of AI infrastructure is putting pressure on the entire semiconductor supply chain, but expanding capacity is not just about building as many facilities as possible.
Memory companies have learned this lesson repeatedly. Historically , the memory business has followed a familiar pattern. Demand is growing and supply is becoming limited. Prices are rising and margins are increasing. Manufacturers invest aggressively , new capacity appears, and supply eventually exceeds demand.
Suddenly the economic situation changes, prices fall, and margins collapse. Profits are disappearing much faster than investors expected. And that's why memory manufacturer stocks can sometimes seem cheap at the most inopportune moment . Low price- to-earnings multiples can look attractive . But if earnings are temporarily inflated due to unusually high prices, the valuation may signal to investors that the market does not believe in the sustainability of those earnings.
