Hi, this is Anthony. Welcome back to my show. Remember, this is not financial advice. I'm just an amateur interested in investing in the stock market. I believe that most people in Western industrialized countries should have a long-term planning horizon with a well- diversified portfolio. Preferably with a large number of mutual funds.
But if you want to spend time researching individual stocks, then you can do that. A few weeks ago, I made a video about buying one share each of companies associated with Bill Ackman. And I find Bill a very interesting person. He is not always right about some of his stock choices or financial maneuvers.
But I still find it interesting. He is now trying to turn his company, Howard Hughes Holdings , HHH, which he controls , into a new Berkshire Hathaway. I own, I don't know, a very small amount of Berkshire Hathaway Class B shares. Did they show a great result this year? Sure, but so do my Nvidia and Palantir .
So, on September 14th, I bought one share of each of these companies . Today is September 22nd, the market is closed, so these are kind of final numbers. Pershing Square (PS), Pershing Square USA Limited (PSUS) and HHH, which I already mentioned. Here are the approximate prices at that time. I bought them at the beginning of the trading day.
Of course, I think they all dropped in price after I bought them. These are the numbers at the time of the close of trading, and I have not verified them. I'm sure they're right, but sometimes artificial intelligence can be wrong. So , this is growth in dollar terms and in percentage terms. So, Pershing Square has grown by 28.55% in a relatively short period of time.
Since the 14th, two weeks, exactly two weeks, as far as I'm concerned. Pershing Square USA grew by only 2%. That's not bad considering it's only 2 weeks out of 52 weeks a year, but not nearly as good as that one. And Howard Hughes Holdings — by 8.45%. If you look at the long-term chart, when it was just a real estate investment tool, the result is not so good.
I encourage you to do your own research to understand the essence of each of these assets . Again, this is just one stock at a time to start following them. This is, you know, 0.005% of my portfolio. But I think Bill is a very interesting person. I have a long-term planning horizon, a well- diversified portfolio, and things I am confident in.
So even if they depreciate to zero, I'll lose about $110 or something . In any case, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. What do you think about Bill Ekman? Let's focus only on finances, without any talk about Israel, Gaza, or anything outside the financial world. But it would be interesting to hear your opinion.
Like, subscribe. I make a lot of videos about stock investing, finance, and personal finance. I repeat, I'm not recommending anything, I'm just putting it out there for you to investigate on your own . It would be interesting to hear your opinion. Leave a comment in the appropriate section . Thank you very much. I appreciate your time. Check out my other videos.
