And I continue to buy silver and gold. I hope that I'm smart enough for my children to have my gold and silver someday. I have sold all nearly all of my shares. I still own shares in China, and I still own shares in Uzbekistan, but I've sold nearly I've sold everywhere else. And I'm trying sitting here with a lot of cash in US dollars.

US is the most successful country in the world right now. But we have gigantic debt. And it's getting worse. That always has led to problems. I can remember 100 Well, I don't remember, but I know that 100 years ago Britain was the richest, most powerful country in the world. The British currency was the currency around the world.

If you took an international trip, you took pound sterling's with you. Cuz that was recognized anywhere. But Britain went bankrupt. 50 years like 60 years later, Britain was totally bankrupt. Cuz they kept running up debt. And I mean, I don't like knowing all of this stuff, Danny. I've read enough history.

But I know what has happened to every country that's been on top throughout history. It makes me sad. I've got two children, young children. You know, they're going to have serious, serious problems. You're watching Capital Cos. My name is Danny. It is November 13th, 2025, and my guest today is none other than the man himself, it's Jim Rogers.

Jim, thank you so much for coming on the show, my friend. Oh my gosh, Danny, it's my my honor. I'm flattered. Very happy to be here. Very happy to be here. Well, we always enjoy our time here together, Jim. Uh you know, let's go ahead and dive right into the action here. Uh government shutdown has come to a close.

Gold and silver are rallying at the news and possibly some other news we we may not be privy to. What's uh what's preoccupying your head space? What's on your radar screen right now, first and foremost, given all the events transpiring in the markets and in the world and in the world? Well, I would tell you I do own gold.

I do own silver. I have never sold any of my gold and silver. I first bought my first gold in 1961. Uh before you were born, it was illegal in those days for Americans to own gold. But I bought some, and I still have it, and I continue to buy silver and gold. I hope that I'm smart enough for my children to have my gold and silver someday.

I have sold all nearly all of my shares. I still own shares in China, and I still own shares in Uzbekistan, but I've sold nearly I've sold everywhere else. And I'm trying sitting here with a lot of cash in US dollars, not mainly not in other currencies, and I'm trying to figure out what to do next. So, I will have to ask Danny, what do I do next?

Well, that's a big responsibility. Uh I mean the the gold and silver prices have gone up tremendously. Gold's at 4241. Silver's at 5393. Both are kicking you know, knocking at the door of new all-time highs. Let me let me ask you this. What's your view on the metals at this moment in time? Are they Are we making a double top in the metals charts, or is there still a lot of runway to go in this metals rally?

Well, I guess for silver it's it's a long-term triple top, you know. First went to 50 back in 1980, etc. It's now making new highs. I'm not selling my silver. If it goes down, I hope I'm smart enough to buy more. I mean, Danny, I'll repeat. I want my children to own my gold and silver someday. Unless I mean, if the world comes to an end, I'll have to liquidate my gold and silver, but I hope that doesn't happen in my lifetime.

Uh I do own gold. I do own silver. But as I say, I've sold nearly all my shares around the world because well, for the one of the few times in my life every market nearly every market is making all-time highs. Danny, that has rarely happened. And in my experience, when everybody is having a good time, it's time to look out the window and say, "Wait a minute.

Something's wrong." Or something's going to go wrong. Not wrong right now. But everybody's happy. And it seems like the good times they're going to try and keep them rolling for as long as they can because the Fed has announced the end of quantitative tightening, so they're going to liquidate the market even more so.

Uh you have talks about these $2,000 stimulus checks from the Trump administration as a form of a tariff dividend is what they're calling them. You have these 50-year mortgage loans they're talking about. You have these 15-year car loans they're talking about. I'm sure there's other stuff that they have in the works here, maybe maybe even more rate cuts to the Fed funds rate.

So, I mean, it looks like they're trying to keep this thing going at least until the midterms or something like that before it before it crashes. Well, Washington will tell you that everything is great, and you don't have to worry. It's different now. It's It's different now. Be careful when you hear it's different now, Danny.

But they will tell you you don't have to worry anymore. We figured out the answer. We know how to solve the problems. However, the US market, and I'm mainly going to talk about the US market. US market's been going up since 2009 or 2008, I should really precise. That's the longest in American history.

Never. Never. And I'm older than you, so it's the longest in your lifetime, too. Never has the market gone up so long. So so so far so so many years. Trump will tell you, "See, we've [clears throat] solved the problem. Everything is okay now." Okay. I'm worried. I'm not selling short yet, I will tell you, Danny, quickly.

I'm not selling short yet, because I don't see the wild hysteria that these things usually turn into. Looks like I sold too soon. But I'm not selling short yet. Is there signpost or a signal that would compel you to to begin selling short? Well, I mean, I guess I'll watch your show. You'll find out when to sell short.

Um I don't [clears throat] know. I I will just in my experience there comes a time Well, first to repeat, every market in the world is making all-time highs or nearly every market. And when the you were in the US market's been going up longer than it ever has in American history. Well, usually when things like this happen, there comes a time when it gets really hysterical.

I don't see hysteria yet in the US. I do see things getting happy and crazy, but I don't see wild hysteria yet. Usually these things end in wild hysteria. If and when that happens, I hope I'm smart enough to sell short. Taking it back to the markets, do you look at the markets priced in anything else other than US dollars?

Let's say, if you price the markets in gold, you'll realize like if you look at a chart of the S&P divided by the gold price, you'll come to realize that the markets have never ha- haven't hit an all-time high since the year 2000. And gold has outperformed the S&P since the year 2000 uh by and large.

So, what does that imply to the stock market that that an unproductive asset like gold is beating it? Well, yes, gold is quoted an unproductive asset, so is silver for that matter. But Danny, I've been around long enough to know that people have always, throughout history, thought of gold and silver as a place of valuable play.

You remember Jesus Christ? He was sold for 30 pieces of silver. Cuz even then even there silver was very valuable, and it still is. People all over the world, doesn't matter where you go, if you give them silver, they know you've given them something valuable. If you give them gold, they know. So, and many people will tell you it's crazy that gold has no value, blah blah blah.

Fine. Fine. Let them tell Let them tell you. Let them tell me. I still own gold and silver, and I hope I'm smart enough to buy more if they go down. For whatever reason, Danny, throughout history or at least most history gold and silver have been considered valuable by human beings. Yeah, but but but it's more of an albatross around the neck of the market that they can't beat the the price of gold and silver, that gold and silver is outperforming the markets.

If the markets are supposed to be a collection of productive assets and they can't even outperform gold, does that imply that the you know, that we're really not in a in a in an all-time high situation with the markets? That really you know, the markets may be up in valued in dollars, but US dollars are a moving target.

They can just increase the money supply at any time and by virtue of that, you know, a fraction of that goes into the stock market. All right. Everything you said is correct. But I own gold and silver. I own US dollars as well. Now, the US dollar is a very flawed currency. There is no question that I mean, the United States Oh my gosh, and I'm an American citizen and taxpayer.

But the US dollar the US is never no country in world history has ever been so deep in debt as the US is. And it's getting worse every day, Danny. I know enough history to know that every country that gets into this kind of situation eventually has horrible problems. And this is 2025. In 1925 Britain was the richest, most powerful country in the world.

50 years later this is not a typo. 50 years later Britain was bankrupt. IMF had to bail them out. Margaret Thatcher was elected because Britain went bankrupt. Margaret Thatcher saved Britain, but what really saved Britain was the year Margaret Thatcher took power, 1979 was the year the North Sea oil started flow.

So, Danny if you give me the largest oil field in the world I'll give you a very, very good time. And all your friends, everybody you know, will all have a good time. And that's what happened to Britain. Thatcher took credit. But it was the North Sea oil that saved her. Yeah. I mean, we we went through a couple hundred years of Pax Britannica.

We're about 80 years into Pax Americana. And it seems like Pax Americana might be a little bit more short-lived than Pax Britannica. Is there a way that the United States can still come out ahead as the leading power in the next, you know, decade or so as things, you know, as, you know, the BRICS nations begin to shape their own settlement currency and new alliances are being formed.

Do you see a way for the American century to continue on to the next century? Sure, if we elect the tooth fairy as president of the US all our problems will be solved. So, you call up the tooth fairy and tell her she should run for president and everything will be fine. I repeat. UK became the richest, most powerful country in the world.

50 years later it was bankrupt. Literally IMF had to come in and bail them out. Margaret Thatcher took credit for it. But it was the North Sea oil that saved Britain. And Britain is now having going to have economic problem debt problems again. But I'm an American citizen, Danny. And I'm telling you what's happened in the US.

I mean, I look at the numbers and I say to myself can they not add? Can they not subtract in Washington? They probably cannot. You know, most of them are not very smart. That's why they go to work for the government. But the numbers are staggering. Just this year alone the numbers are staggering. And it I don't think anybody a very few people in Washington even know how astonishing the numbers are.

And I know well, I've read enough history to know that this always ends badly. Well, they're now saying the press secretary said yesterday that they're not even going to release the October jobs numbers now because, you know, they're citing that the government shut down uh contaminated the numbers in some way.

So, I mean, we've gotten to the point where they're just they're just not going to show us the numbers anymore. At least for October. Does that sound good to you? Doesn't sound good to me. I'm an American taxpayer, voter, citizen like you. It doesn't sound good for any of us. I certainly understand that they want to keep the numbers quiet.

But I know it's not good for us. Not good for anybody. No, not at all. Well, Jim, I know so I want to get your thoughts on I we've talked about gold and silver. We've talked about equities, but I also want to get your thoughts on the gold and silver equities. Are you positioned any at all into the gold and silver mining stocks?

I am not. Partly because I'm lazy. You know, that takes work. I know there's some staggering fortunes to be made if you can get the right silver stocks or the right gold stocks. But that takes work. And for me it's simpler just to buy the gold, to buy the silver. You should have some silver under your bed.

You should have gold in your closet. Everybody should. But if you if you're smart enough diligent enough to figure out the stocks I mean, my gosh, you'll make much, much more money if you buy the right stocks. Cuz then you get leverage, huge leverage if you buy the right stocks. And then what about platinum?

I know you collect the the yellow and and white metal. What about the other white metal, platinum? Platinum at one point was actually valued higher than gold in history. Now it's about, you know, a little under half the price of gold. Do you anticipate platinum, you know, getting some some of that market share back in the metal space?

Well, you should throw in palladium, too. Platinum and palladium are certainly alternatives, viable alternatives. I don't own either at the moment. I have in the past. But no, those are certainly viable alternatives. But when push comes to shove, Danny, in my experience if you walk down the street in any Go to India.

Go to a market in India. They all know what gold is. They all know what silver is. But if you said to them, "Here, we got some platinum." They'd probably turn around and go the other way. Cuz platinum and palladium, yes, you and I know and many know or have great value, but in the backwoods many people never heard of platinum and palladium.

But they all know about gold. Right. And so, you know, before you wrap up here, Jim, I want to get your thoughts on some of these macro events. You know, more specifically coming from the policy makers in the government. Uh let's go ahead and get your thoughts on how you anticipate like these 50-year mortgages to to roll out.

Like, what are some of the downstream effects of introducing 50-year mortgages into the housing market, you know, 15-year car loans and things like that. Well, Danny, they're politicians. They want to do anything they can to make people happy. They look for easy answers. Now, a 50-year mortgage is great.

The payments go down a lot. In the end, of course, you pay much, much, much more in interest payments in the end. So, many many people say, "Ha! My mortgage payments have been cut. Cut by a lot. That's great." Well, that's short-sided if you ask me. But no it's one of those gimmicks that politicians love because it makes a lot of people happy seemingly happy and everybody's fine.

Except the people who can add. The people who can add and multiply and subtract realize what's going on. Right. And then you also have these $2,000 stimulus checks that they're talking about rolling out. I mean, the last time they did something like this was in 2020 during COVID. And back then it was a $1,200 check, not a $2,000 check.

So, this is this is on a on a level even higher than that. Um and you know, they're caveating with the the notion that they'll only send it out to people making less than $100,000 a year. But even but regardless, they're still injecting liquidity straight into the hands of the consumer. So, from like a from a money velocity standpoint as as soon as you inject that however much it is, $300 billion into the economy it's going to go straight into consumer spending.

Or the markets or things like that as a I mean I mean, isn't that going to cause another round of I mean, shouldn't we be concerned about another round of inflation as a result of that? Well, of course we I mean, everybody who knows a little bit of economics knows that when you print a lot of money it has always led to inflation.

But most of these guys who who work for the government don't care cuz they're assume that they'll be gone by the time it gets to be a serious problem and it won't affect them. It'll affect you. It'll affect me. But they they hope they think that it won't affect them. Because there's enough time and there is obviously there is a lag effect when you print a lot of money.

That's what these guys count on. That's why they work for the government, Danny. They look for the easy answer. They look for the simple easy answer. It's not good for you, your children, anybody's grandchildren but it's good for them. They think. Can argue with that. Well, Jim, I I also want to get your thoughts on this ongoing series of negotiations between the US and China.

Do you see a rapprochement coming anytime soon between the two countries? All right, quick break here because if you're buying gold or silver the normal way, you're probably overpaying by a lot. And that's because most retail dealers quietly tack on these huge markups. Sometimes 10%, sometimes 20%, sometimes even 30% and you don't even notice it.

It's like paying $115 for a $100 bill. Doesn't make sense, right? So, that's why I've been using the Bullion Standard Pro. It's a membership that basically lets you buy precious metals at real wholesale prices. The same prices that dealers get. So, no inflated premiums no middleman games. Their platform updates every 5 seconds straight from mints and distributors.

So, what you see is literally the real market. And here's the crazy part. If you buy something like this gold American Eagle here's the amount of money you're going to be saving at the time of this recording at least. So, it basically pays for itself multiple folds on many occasions depending on what you buy.

We We've had the opposite. Uh I don't see any reason that we shouldn't be great friends except history shows that when you have a dominant country and a rising country they have nearly always clashed nearly always clashed.

Um and it sometimes it turns into shooting war. I'm talking about history now, reading history. There's no reason for that to happen but there's never any reason for it to happen except it has happened in the past. Yes, China's the most successful country in the world right now. At least rising country.

US is the most successful country in the world right now. But we have gigantic debt and it's getting worse. That always has led to problems. I can remember 100 Well, I don't remember but I know that 100 years ago Britain was the richest, most powerful country in the world. The British currency was the currency around the world.

If you took an international trip, you took pound sterlings with you. Cuz that was recognized anywhere. Uh Britain went bankrupt. 50 years like 60 years later Britain was totally bankrupt cuz they kept running up debt and I mean, I don't like knowing all of this stuff, Danny. I've read enough history.

But I know what has happened to every country that's been on top throughout history. It makes me sad. I've got your children, young children. You know they're going to have serious serious problems in their lifetime. Danny I'm an old American. It's a good time to be an old American. It is not a good time to be a young American.

Cuz in their lifetime it's what the British went through and everybody before the British. America's going to have gigantic problems in my children's lifetimes. And I hope everybody is aware of what's coming and I hope that they protect themselves. Whether it's gold or silver, there are many ways to protect yourself but I hope everybody is aware of what's going to happen.

And if you don't know read some history and you'll find out. Yeah, and on separate front you still have the Ukraine war ongoing and Europe has been given all the signs that they're getting They're getting ready for a kinetic war with Russia herself. You know, they've sent out like they've leaked these memos that went out to hospitals saying to prepare for mass casualties and you know, in France and in Germany and and and and across Europe these memos have been found uh sent to the hospitals there.

So, it looks like you know, we are looking down a potential hot war between Europe and Russia as well. Um do you see I mean is it pretty much baked into the cake here? Is there a way to for the Europeans and the Russians to to get out of this mess or is or or is it like you said? I mean, you have a rising power in Russia and China and you have the existing legacy powers in Europe and the United States and uh the clash is inevitable.

Well, all I know is it's always had led to clashes always throughout history and yes, it doesn't have to happen. Of course, it doesn't have to happen. There's no [clears throat] reason for Americans to shoot Russians or Russians to shoot Germans or any other. No reason for the Chinese to get involved except for the fact that we're all human beings and we always have gotten angry.

You know, somebody will come along and say it's not our fault, it's those horrible foreigners. It's those evil foreigners that are causing the problems. We are all good, God-fearing honest American citizens. We haven't done anything wrong. It's the foreigners. But likewise in other countries they say the same thing.

They say it's all the evil Americans, the greedy Americans. This is the way the world has always worked. We're all human beings. Yes, I can tell you it's all crazy. But I know that we're all human beings and I know what has always happened in the past. Do the BRICS nations watch your show? Go ahead.

Everybody should watch your show, listen to your show to avoid all this. I can't I can't disagree with you there. Uh sorry. My My My next question to you is do you see these BRICS nations like China and Russia and Iran and and so forth do you see them as having enough trust amongst each other to follow through with uh you know, follow through with all of these uh uh conflicts that the others going through?

For example, you know Russia is going at it with Europe, Iran is going at it with uh the United States and Israel. Um China could potentially be going at it with the United States as well or some other proxy, who knows? Maybe Taiwan. But it seems like uh they're kind of all sticking within their respective theaters.

Um you know, the Russians have sent I believe uh fighter jets over down to to Iran and Iran has sent over some some drones. Uh they call them the Shahed drones over to to Russia. But by and large they've pretty much stuck within their own theaters. Do you do you anticipate that continuing and why why why why don't you know why don't these countries uh appear at least to have each other's backs um when it comes to the US's bullying.

Now, you have Venezuela on the chopping block. They've sent out all these warships on the you know, around Venezuela and there doesn't appear to be much help coming from the BRICS block. Um they kind of it kind of looks like they're sending Venezuela out to dry. I could be wrong. I don't know. Maybe maybe I am wrong.

Let me know if I Let me know in the comment section if I'm wrong. But why isn't there a little bit more cohesion with this uh BRICS group? Hooray. Yes. You're asking great, insightful, perceptive questions. You think they know that in Washington? You think they know that in London? Tokyo? They're all [clears throat] bureaucrats.

Throughout history they get angry at each other. They don't know why. They [clears throat] have to get angry with other people. You have to blame your problems on the foreigners. You don't think that the people in Japan in the government are going to say uh it's our fault. We have made mistakes. Oh, vote for the opposition.

Get rid of us cuz we've made mistakes. That's not the way governments work. That's not the way politics has ever worked. Doesn't matter who you are. Again, you know, if this were What is this? 2020? If this were 1910, the British, the German, everybody was very happy. The royal families used to vacation together.

They used to intermarry. They used to have big summer parties together. And a few years later, they were slaughtering each other in the trenches of Europe, cursing each other. And these were people who'd been singing and dancing and having picnics just a few years before. They were great friends. Intermarry.

No question, but few years later, they were cursing each other, slaughtering each other in the trenches. And you know what happened? In 1914, they all said, "Ah, this will be over by Christmas." They all By the way, they always say when the war start, "Don't worry, the boys will be home by Christmas." Or whatever the holiday they happen to talk about.

They always say the troops will be home by Christmas. And 6 months later, they all look at each other and say, "How did this happen? How did we get into this stupid war?" And they say, "How do we get out?" The problem is by then there's no way to get out. Cuz so many emotions have been built up, so many everything has been built up.

They're going to continue to slaughter each other. They spend gigantic amounts of money. Of course, few years later, they all say, "Why did we do that? Why didn't we stop it?" If you can figure out the answer to that, Danny, you'll save the world. But the problem is this always happens and they always say, "How do we get out?

How did we get into this stupid war? Now, how do we get out?" And the problem is there's no way out until you just kill a lot more people and spend a lot more money. We're human beings. You solve the problem, please. Please solve the problem. No, I mean you're 100% correct. We are still the same human beings that we were thousands of years ago.

We still have the same brain and you know, makeup and everything. So, yeah, we keep repeating a lot of the same mistakes that our ancestors did over and over again because we lose that ancestral memory. The old the older generation dies off, they take the lessons of the past with them and then the new generation has to relearn those lessons anew.

But even if you sit down with the new generation, explain to them, they're going to say, "Yes, but it's different now. Those horrible people in that country, they're horrible. Even their food smells bad. They smell bad, their food smells bad. They're horrible people. You cannot reason with them. All we can do is shoot them." No, no, [clears throat] you and I both know it's absurd.

And I can show you hundreds of wars, thousands of wars over the centuries. They always say the same thing and they always make the same mistakes. Totally true. Well, Jim, thank you so much for coming on, my friend. It's always an honor speaking with you and a pleasure as well. Anything else you'd like to mention or talk about that we didn't get into before we bring this home?

Well, I would just say it's always fun seeing you and talking to you. You always have good questions, good insights. Now, figure out a way to stop the war. That's your assignment. All right. That's my assignment to you. Figure out a way to stop the war. Well, uh we'll get back together whenever we do and we'll we'll trade notes.

How about that? You just made me think of something. There was a Some historians recently did a study of US history. The US has been a country since 1776, more or less. Every year except 19 years, we've been at war with somebody. Only 19 years since 1776 has the US not been at war with somebody. Wow.

I mean, I The people in Washington seem to like war. Now, I'm not picking on the US here, but we could probably say this about nearly every country in the world. Countries always go to war. But we're not good at winning wars anymore, but nobody's good at winning wars anymore. But it doesn't matter. We can sit down, buy them tea, buy them coffee, and explain, but they don't care because they go home and look at the television and the television says, "Those people are evil, rotten people.

You got to shoot them." Well, they also say war is the health of the state. So, the state is kind of incentivized for war because then they consolidate power through it. They're all human beings. You're explaining why for thousands of years we've always had wars. You're explaining why in American history there've only been 19 years when we have not had a war with somebody.

I mean, and many people will say, "Yeah, we're the We're the most successful country in the world." And we are. Yeah, I mean, I can't think of a war that we weren't involved in since I was born at least. I mean, that's I mean, I I It's just been one after the other. Yes, of course. And if you said to somebody during any of those wars, "Can you explain Can you defend Can you rationalize it?" They would give you many patriotic reasons why we should be at war with those horrible people.

20 years later, nobody remembers. Cost gigantic amounts of money. Gigantic deaths, bad casualties. And nobody even knows why we did it. Except we always did it. Now, I'm not picking on us. I mean, everybody. We're not the only ones. Everybody. Many governments love war. Gives them power, gives them support.

Gives them taxes. And Is there a Is there a country out there that you can kind of view as Switzerland that's neutral in all this in today's world? That's your other assignment, Danny. Find a place. Yes, the Swiss have mainly stayed out of wars. You know, mainly. You know, the French Revolution caused Switzerland to be a great success cuz all those French in Paris were trying to figure out, "What do we do now?

How do we get out of this crazy world of the French Revolution?" They looked at a map and they ran to the cross the nearest border and that was Switzerland. That's why Switzerland became a great haven, great financial haven because mainly the French Revolution, they were all trying to escape the horrors of Paris.

And that made Switzerland great. I mean, I hope that continues. And of course, armies, when they look at Switzerland, they see nothing but mountains. Armies don't like mountains. It's not a good Not an easy place to have a war. So, Switzerland has been has evolved in the last 200 odd years to be a great refuge.

I don't know. Swiss are now building up debt. The Swiss are building up lots of problems that many countries have developed over throughout history. Very keen on Switzerland. Have some money in Switzerland. And I Nearly everybody has some money in Switzerland. But that doesn't mean that there won't be problems in Switzerland.

But they've had things really, really were going very well in the last 200 odd years. That usually leads to problems. They do have those mountains. And very few generals like to go to war in the mountains. They know that's complicated. Generals like the easy life, too. So, maybe if Switzerland the mountains will save Switzerland.

I mean, I'm not going to move to Switzerland. I don't particularly like mountains and cold, but many people do. Yeah, I was going to say, I mean, you're all the way down in the equator in Singapore right now. So, that's as warm as it gets. Well, yeah, Singapore's on the equator. So, in Singapore, it's always hot.

Either hot and rain. But if it's raining, it's not going to rain long, but it's always going to be hot. That's one thing we both know. But if there's a war, this port in Singapore is one of the most important ports in the world. For better or worse, when there's a war, everybody needs good ports. Everybody has to fight over a good port.

Mhm. For whatever re- Well, you know all the reasons. No, I mean if you know a safe haven for us if and when the next war come, not if, when the next war comes. Don't announce it on your show. Send me an email. You know, cuz I want to escape the next war, too, if and when it I hope it doesn't come in my lifetime.

Unfortunately, it always does come. All right. Well, uh number one, I'll figure out a way to end the wars, and then number two, I'll find a place that uh you and I can hide in in case the wars don't end. The best thing you can do is what you said first. End the wars. Stop the wars. That'll save the world.

My gosh, it will save the world. And a lot of people get very rich if they can avoid the war. Of course, others love war. There's many people the ones who get it right when there's a war, make a lot of money, if you get it right. Get it wrong, ooh. The consequences are not good. So, what your assignment is figure out where we can all be safe.
