It's Sunday again, and we're taking a look at another portfolio, a current portfolio of an investor. Today we're looking at Radio's portfolio. What did he buy most recently? What exactly is in the portfolio? What positions does it hold? We'll clarify all of this in this video. It's about becoming financially free.
Since we want more out of life, we can only rely on ourselves. And here we are, a small community working towards exactly that through real dedication and smart investing. So, welcome! My name is Finds Malte Länger, and I hope you enjoyed the video. A successful day! Yes, this is the second video here with the backdrop.
We'll jump right to my screen to take a detailed look at what's in his portfolio and what he's bought. But let me know what you think of the backdrop in the comments below. And now, a few words about Radio. As I've mentioned in other videos, the topic is "Principles," which is what he's currently focusing on because he's published a book on the subject.
In this book, he describes his approach to becoming successful in a very structured way, and how he achieves it all. He has posted in his forum, and the approach he takes in his portfolio is very systematic. This means he wants to distance himself as much as possible from subjective opinions and delve much deeper into systems to make better decisions based on the often available historical data.
He also wants to promote understanding of the connections and relationships through the interplay of this data. As time progresses, he has become increasingly successful because this system is constantly being developed and improved, and it has now become established in all areas of the company. Therefore, I find his personality extremely interesting.
I can wholeheartedly recommend everything he does. Now let's jump to the screen and take a detailed look at the portfolio. As promised, let's look at Rainbow's portfolio, specifically Bridgewater Associates, which VDM ultimately manages. In total, over 165 billion is currently being managed here. Yes, we're talking about a 13 percent return, which is impressive for the volume and size of the portfolio.
Especially when we consider all the fees, it's a really considerable amount, and as we've already mentioned in another video, the more capital there is, the more difficult it ultimately becomes to do everything. So, let's take a look at, or perhaps just go through, the data above. Previously, we had value investors with a very limited number of Stoxx positions.
Now, if you see here that there were 46 positions, and of those, 50, 93, and 51 were new, that means the investment style is definitely different. Let's look at what's happened recently, often with top picks, and we see that quite a bit has happened. This is the last quarter for which we have data, and we see that, above all, quite a lot has happened with a large number of positions.
What we also see is that with many positions, very small amounts have been involved, especially reductions in the ETS area. What's noticeable is that we're not only investing in individual stocks, or at least reducing our holdings. Given the current market situation, this isn't really surprising. However, as we've seen, we also have almost 51 new additions.
What's definitely noticeable here is that we're not just investing in individual stocks, or rather, not investing in them, but also in ETFs to a large extent. We'll see that again when we open up the portfolio itself. You can see these small impaxes, which does n't really make sense to look at right now.
But the portfolio structure is more interesting because we see that a very large weighting is n't in individual stocks, but in the weighting of ETFs and similar products. So let's look at what 's heavily weighted, and we see that the top three positions alone already make up more than 50 percent, almost 60 percent in fact.
And that's the one in the Virgin Markets portfolio. SNP Emergent Index, and here we naturally have a relatively large weighting, or rather, we look at when the first individual stock is added, and I believe that must be this one, if I'm not completely mistaken, or CDS. And that's definitely interesting about his portfolio: compared to all the other investors we've looked at so far, we'll see a completely different portfolio structure here, a completely different approach, investing differently.
We focus more on global trends, meaning individual top picks are made, but the impact on the portfolio itself is, of course, significantly lower. And that's because, based on what I've read about principles, I would guess it's related to the fact that the interrelationships of overall markets are naturally assessed differently than the dependence on individual stocks.
That means if I know that there's a crash and, with a time lag, gold rises, for example, then I can, of course, proceed much, much better with the combined product or, for example, Treasury bonds, than by saying, "Okay, which company will perform so well in that sector?" This is a completely different investment style compared to value investing, which is also the approach I follow.
However, it's very interesting to see how such a portfolio is structured and what actions are taken at what time. For those who remember the other video where we discussed this, where he said we weren't looking at 2018 at all, but rather at 2019 and 2020, because that's the interesting point where we expect a crash.
Nevertheless, the preparatory work is already underway, including reducing the portfolio. This has already involved a considerable amount of work. If you look at the portfolio's current status, shortly after they were released, after the Philips and E.S. announcements, you naturally get a very good impression of the market sentiment.
This, of course, depends on the investor, but it's a very clear and unvarnished picture of how they view the overall market situation. I would n't consider much more important here. If you have any further questions... Just write in the comments, then maybe in the next analysis we can delve into these topics in more detail.
And yes, with that, I'll say goodbye to the camera again. So, what do you think of the radio station's portfolio? Did you like it? Did any particular stocks catch your eye, or do you perhaps own any individual shares? Then let's write all that in the comments. Also, if there's a star investor you think we should take a look at, let me know.
It's really difficult, so maybe we should do a little more research on them, and then we'll just see what they're up to. Anyway, I'm glad you watched the video to the end.
