Friends, today I am going to talk about the stock market, which started its career from ₹5000 and reached 450000 crores, who is also called the Indian Warren Buffer and none other than our Jhunjhunwala. Come on friends, today we will know how this journey of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was born on 5 July 1960 in a Marwari family of Mumbai.
His father was an Income Tax Officer and his mother was a housewife. Officers used to have parties in their house. His father used to discuss the stock market with his friends. When Rakesh was 14 years old, he started asking his father about the stock market. His father then advised him to read newspapers.
Starting from here, he became a trader in 1985, but his mother did not have a mother in the Chattada counter. He wanted to become a stock market investor, but at that time he did not have money to invest and his father straight away told him that if you want to invest money in the stock market, then do not use my money.
Rakesh told his father about this. He didn't say anything. He started investing with ₹5,000 he had saved as capital. At that time, the BSE Sensex was ₹150, which is around ₹50,000 today. To expand his business, Rakesh took a loan of ₹2.5 lakh from a friend of his brother at an 18% interest rate, confident that he would get returns from HD.
While the trend was going on at that time, Rakesh bought 5,000 shares of Tata Tea at a price of ₹43. Within three months, the Tata Tea share reached ₹143, and he got three times the return. This was Rakesh's first big profit. Later, from 1986, Rakesh had earned ₹25 lakh in three years. This trend continued, and within a few years, he became a businessman.
Then his eyes fell on a Goa stock, which was an iron rod business company, its share was trading at ₹28. Rakesh studied and found that this share could give a lot of profit. He bought 4 lakh lions and the price of lions skyrocketed in no time, and lion screenshots were made. Such a Goa company is like no other.
Today we know it as Vedanta. Friends, Rakesh Enginewala's wife's name is Rekha Jhunjhunwala. She is also interested in the lion market. Rakesh ji says that after marriage, Rekha ji had only one demand: install an AC at home because she could not tolerate the heat. In the year 1999, when BP Singh's government was formed, he was the Finance Minister.
All the investors were told that this time the budget would not be business-friendly, but Rakesh ji had a different idea. He believed that BP Singh had a lot of knowledge of business, hence the budget would be business- friendly. He just went ahead and invested heavily. Rakesh ji's close friends were repeatedly dissuading him from doing so.
Finally, on the day of the budget, it happened as Rakesh ji had been thinking. In a single day, Rakesh ji had made 20 crores from 3 crores. On this day, he reached home at 2:00 in the night and told his wife Rekha ji that this time, definitely install an AC in the summer, such was our love. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala used to understand the stock well before buying it.
One such stock was Titan, which Rakesh ji bought for ₹3. Today its value is around 24. He still has 4.4 crores worth of Titan. Today Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is a share holder of many companies, among them are companies like Aurobindo Pharmaceuticals, Lupin Parag. Rakesh ji always used to say that if there is no export, then invest in stocks through mutual funds.
Yes, if you want to play, then play with 5% capital and invest the rest in mutual funds. He always used to say that tips are the biggest risk for investment and do not invest empty-handedly. Keep monitoring your investment continuously and do not expect your money to double in six months. Do not fall for such optimists.
If you have such expectations, then invest your money in horse racing, not in the stock market. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala used to own 44 stocks in his last time, in which Titan's king was invested in Tata Motors, Rs 1700 crore in CRISIL and Rs 1300 crore in Federal Bank. 850 crores in two Indian hostel companies, 550 crores in NCC Limited, 400 crores in India Limited, 400 crores in Nazar, apart from this he had holdings in many companies.
Friends, it is not that Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has got only success, he has said many times that he had to send shares to cover his losses, he says that once he had to bear a loss of 150 crores in a company, in 2011 his network had reduced by 30% but he had made up for it in a few minutes, on 7 August 2022 he started his dream project, when he was asked about it that right now the Sun industry is going through so much trouble and you are launching your airline, in response to this he said that I am ready to fail, the mantra of launching an airline, on 14 August 2022 Rakesh Jhunjhunwala died of a heart attack, he was also suffering from kidney disease for a long time, the story of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, if you liked my story please like and subscribe my channel
