What about the Indian economy? I I am living in a country in India right now. So I'm living in India, right? And uh I wanted to ask you about your views on the Indian economy as well. Do you invest in India? Do you find India attractive as an investment opportunity? What's your thought? For the first time in my life, my investing life, uh something seems to have happened in Delhi.
The Indian government now seems to understand that is good for people to be successful. It is good for people to make money. Throughout history, Indian politicians have said that. They said yes, we want prosperity. We want success. But they didn't mean it. I mean G, Mrs. Gandhi and Nou and all those people, they didn't like rich people.
They were jealous of successful people. But now something seems to have happened and in Delhi they understand that success is good for India. Prosperity is good for India and for the first time in my life the politicians in India seem to be in favor of success. And that means oh my gosh there are lots of smart educated people in India.
Many of them left for many years because there was very little opportunity in India. But now something seems to have changed and then in India they want you to be successful and they encourage it. So for the first time in my life, India is a place where the government and the people have the same interests.
And are you and are you planning to invest in Indian companies or do you already invest in Indian companies? I don't have investments now because the market went up to new highs. By the time I realized I mean I've invested in India before in the stock market but by the time I realize oh my gosh things are changing in India the stock market had gone up a lot.
So I'm waiting. I want to invest but I don't have investments right now. I am watching and waiting. And did you make money in the past in the Indian investments that you did before? And in which sector uh did you do? I have made money investing in India in the past. I hope I can make money again investing in India
and uh any specific sector theme companies that you had identified? No. What would depend on what goes down but I mean tourism and travel in India has a spectacular future. I mean, I tell people many times, if you can only visit one country in your life, it should be India because there's no country like it in the world.
It's got manmade and natural sites, food. Oh my gosh, it's got everything. The most beautiful women in the world. I mean, India has everything. When was the last time you visited this country? Oh, I don't know, two or three years ago. Oh, okay. recent yeah about two three years back and how was your experience here in terms of you sp you spoke to some people what were some customer level insights that you got after visiting India
I don't think I've ever had a bad experience traveling in India yes there were no roads there were no hotels there was very little of anything long ago um but you know some of the most astonishing places I mean the todd Mahal has nothing like it in the world. Ajanta Allora. Have you been to Allora? No, I've not.
I've been to Aora. Please go. There's nothing like it in the world. U India has some places that are just shocking. They're so exciting. And at times in history, India's been extremely successful and extremely prosperous with very smart people and they built some amazing places.
