Everyone who invests in the stock market knows about Warren Buffett. Everyone knows that Warren Buffett is the world's greatest investor, but you have no idea about him. Warren Buffett is the world's greatest investor, but this man is the world's greatest fund manager. His fund has given a CAGR return of about 29.5% from 1977 to 1990.
If you invest 10 lakhs in his fund, it will be 5 crores in 15 years. This is the return that no other big fund manager in the world has taken. That is why they call him the greatest fund manager. He did not think about the stock market, he wrote books and published them outside. One, three, four books are one, One Upon Wall Street, another Learn to Earn, another Beating the Street.
What did he say in all these books? What kind of strategies did he use before? These books tell us how to do it if the market gains 30% every year. In this video, I will talk about the eight biggest lessons in this book. Please watch this video and it will help you a lot in your investment journey .
If you need any guidance on investing in the stock market, there is a Google form in our description. If you enter your details in the Google form, our team will call you and help you. There are a total of 20 crore demat accounts in our India. SEBI says 90% of people lose money in this. Because we don't understand the game of the stock market .
We buy a stock because a friend told us to, or we invest in a stock because we saw some news, or we blindly believe something someone says on Instagram or YouTube. Then, if that stock goes down, we'll say, "The stock market is wrong, the stock market is gambling, the stock market is a scam," and we'll leave the stock market .
This is not a stock market problem, it's a problem with our mindset. Instead of fixing our mindset, we run away saying the stock market is wrong. If you have an accident on the road and you hit someone or you fall, you will never admit that it is my fault. The road is not right. Someone came and hit me.
My behavior is not right. We blame others. Similarly, many people in the stock market also blame the mistakes they make on the stock market. They try to make peace with it. Every investor thinks, which stock should we buy? Which stock should we buy? But Peter Lynch says, don't think about which stock.
Call it a business. Think about which business. Don't think about which stock should we buy. Then when you learn about business and invest, your confidence will increase. Similarly, in this video, we will understand the eight lessons that Peter Lynch taught. The first lesson is that you need to understand your personal edge.
Personal edge is a fund for everyone. A manager doesn't have much information, but normal people like us have more information. A fund manager has information about all other businesses. We have information about a particular business. For example, I work in a bar, so I know which bottle is selling the most at the bar.
The fund manager only knows when the fund manager sells gin . But I already know, I can see it in my eyes . Similarly, in 2009 and 2010, many IT employees were blamed. They say stress levels are increasing, they say more work, they say more work, they say this is not happening to us . Instead of being a jerk, if they really understood that the stress level is increasing, the work is increasing, so what if they are getting work, so they are getting work, so they are getting clients for TCS or Infosys, so they are getting clients, so in the future there will be an increase in revenue, if they had thought like this, who would not have been an employee?
They would have been billionaires today because from 2009 to 2018, Infosys has given 1500% return. At that time, he invested a little bit of his salary in Infosys. He didn't have to work at all because a fund manager knows more than an employee. That's what Peter Lynch calls the personal edge. When we think like this, when we think like this, our When we use common sense, we can get a better return than the fund manager.
Are you going shopping? I thought about it before and I already told you in a video. In 2017-18, we went to D.I. and took a car and first went to DMart. When the new DMart store opened, the parking lot was full. The next time we went to DMart, there was no parking available. We parked outside. What does this show?
Demand is increasing. Suddenly, more people are going to DMart. Due to this, the revenue will jump. In the future, DMart will grow. What happened at that time? In 2017, IPO came. I applied for IPO. I did not get IPO. Because then I tried to subscribe 60-70 times and did not get 300. The IPO that came in at Rs.
1000 went to Rs. 600 on the first day of listing. The one I saw at Rs. 300 went to Rs. 600 and said, "Will you buy it at Rs. 600? Leave it at Rs. 600. I don't want it. I left it. Go and demo it. Today, there is Rs. 5000. You missed it. I'm not saying that I'm a fool. You missed it. If I had used my head that day, how much money could we have made today?" This is what Peter Lynch says.
The more a normal person observes, the more he knows. We don't observe, we don't look around. We don't go around looking like that. The second lesson of the world is that we always look at the numbers more, but what we really need to see is the story. What is EPS? What is the balance sheet? Peter Lynch says, "Don't worry too much about what P stands for, but look at the real story of a company ." For example, Tesla was a loss-making company that didn't generate much revenue in 2016-17 .
What did Elon Musk do? Elon Musk talked about the electric revolution. The future is electric. Electric vehicles will be everywhere. People came to America and believed him. People invested in him. At that time, Tesla had zero profit, not a single rupee was made. Only revenue was coming in. Sales were not growing that much.
But what did people do? They believed that story. What story did they tell? They believed the story of the future being electric. They invested in Tesla. Today, Tesla is a trillion dollar company. What does this say? Any founder, entrepreneur or promoter should think visionarily. We should look at his vision.
We should not just look at the number. We should also look at his vision. What will he do in the future? We need to see his vision, we can align with him today, he grew, so we will grow. Now Tesla has grown, not only Elon Musk has grown. Everyone who invested in Tesla in the past has grown. Tesla has grown 100 times.
From 2017 to now, it has grown 100 times. Tesla shares could be up 100 times. This is what Peter Lynch says. Don't just look at the numbers and be fooled. Look at the future. Look at the future story. See what the promoters are saying. See what their vision is. The third lesson is to stay away from these lottery stocks.
Because a bull run never comes. If you want to go to the market, everyone thinks that the stock they bought is perfect. The stock they bought is correct. Ideana Next. Reliance Golist. Reliance Jio Golist. Reliance 's Beat. The next idea is that HDFC Bank will be the next Yes Bank. Peter Lynch says, "Don't believe in lottery stocks like this." If the bull run doesn't come in 2020, don't start going to the market.
At that time, there will be so many penny stocks, BCG, S Bank, Idea. More people will go and invest in all these. They will think more about this. We will also be asked questions like, " Sir, tell me the best stocks under 50 rupees, tell me the best stocks under 30 rupees." I made a video about it. So many people came to watch that video.
I said, "Best stocks under 100 rupees." Then I realized that I shouldn't watch this kind of thing. In every bull run, we are looking for some lottery stocks. This will change my life. This will change my life. Change will happen, if Yes Bank takes away even 7800 from here, my life will change, that's why everyone will leave Yes Bank, Idea will leave .
This is what Peter Lynch says: Long shots almost always miss. What you want to do is analyze the business. Is the business strong? Is it growing year on year? Is it growing quarter on quarter? If it's not growing, why isn't it growing? What's the real problem? Instead of trying to understand this, you go directly to that stock, go to this stock, the future will be there, the next will be there, the next will be there, and so on.
Instead of saying names like this, Peter Lynch says, if you understand the business, will you sustain it in the long term? The fourth lesson is that EQ is better than IQ. This Q stands for emotional control, and IQ stands for intelligence. If you want to make money in the stock market, listen to what I have to say.
In my opinion, if you want to make money in the stock market, you don't need intelligence. Emotional control is needed here. Emotions need to be controlled. Those who control their emotions make money. Warren Buffett says that if the stock market were just data and money could be made, all economists would be the richest people today.
Rakesh Jujunwala says, "Why are all the CAs so worried about it? Everyone should have become the richest person ." Not just numbers, not intelligence. Have you seen so many intelligent people today? They are professors in big colleges. They have learned so much. Even a professor could have become rich.
Business is not like this. Business is a game of emotions. Here, those who control emotions and manage the ups and downs are the ones who win. How many people sold shares in the 2020 Covid crash? They sold shares in the stock market and left. If the market suddenly wanted to go up, I would go back and say bye.
If it wanted to fall, I would fall first. If it wanted to go up, I would go up first. What happens is that their emotions are controlling them. They are not controlling their emotions. No matter how intelligent you are, it will not work. Because intelligence makes us emotionally weak. Because tomorrow something will happen, something will happen, something will happen, something will happen.
Our intelligence, our conscious mind, confronts us. Because it already has information for it. The most important thing in all this is emotional control. We must have emotional control. We must have emotional control. We must understand what to do. The stock market is there. When the stock market reacts, the stock market goes up.
If I worry about this today, I won't be able to make money. Business is not a business, it's a matter of whether you open a shop and close it in six months. Do you close it because you can't do business for six months? Do you close it because you can't do business for a year? Yes, 9% of people close it.
Whoever continues will win. Why do 90% of people close? They start expecting that as soon as they open, they will be so excited, they will be so excited, they will be so excited, they will be so excited, they will be so excited, they will be so excited, they start. When it doesn't work, they stop it and leave.
The stock market is booming, as soon as I invest, this stock will go up, as soon as I invest, I will become a millionaire, as soon as I invest, I will become rich. Come and join the stock market. Life is not a race. Whatever you buy, it will not be given to you immediately, it will take time. Many people don't understand that and just ignore it .
If you need any guidance on investing in the stock market, there is a Google form in our description. If you enter your details in that Google form, our team will call you and help you. The fifth lesson is that we need to make companies understand which category this falls into. Peter Lynch has given it six categories.
All companies have been given six categories. It would be great if we made a separate video about this. I'll just say the above . Those six categories are fast growers, stall stocks, slow growers, cyclicals, turners, hounds, and asset plays. Fast growers are those that grow 25 to 30% to 40% of the time, but not all of them are called fast growers.
An example might be Trent, Trend zo, zomato, zomato has Blinkit. Blinkit is growing 50 to 60% every year. There may be some power stocks again. These things are growing fast . These are called fast growers . But the valuation is also higher in this . Similarly, there will be growth . But this is a risk and reward game.
There is risk and reward in this . The second is Stall Watts. Stalls include HDFC Bank, Asian Paints, DMart, Titan, and Pdilite. All of them have stalls there. This can be called compounders. Every year it grows, there is a study that says that there is growth there, this 15 to 20% every year it grows, you can predict this easily, you can predict that it will grow in the future, it will be there in the future, you must have seen the results of Titan recently, there has been 20% year-on- year growth, even though the gold price is so high, it has also seen 20% year-on- year growth, because in our India there are more people who consume gold, this is 10 years, 20 years, this is a continuous trend, it will continue, the third one is slow growers, slow growers, what are these monopoly stocks, government monopoly, maybe NTPC, maybe Coal India, again There may be a power grid, they are different, but if there is a train, if there is a settler train, it will grow slowly, if there is a slow growth, it will grow profit by 10 to 12% year on year, in the same way, if there is growth, it will give more dividends, stocks have gone so high, even if they give dividends, they will get dividends of three to 4%, if not 5%, then the fourth is cyclicals.
Cyclicals are Tata Steel Cement companies in India, cement companies are not cyclical, because I always explain that once, cement companies in India are not cyclical, here you can predict the demand for cement, which is not possible to predict the demand, that is called cyclical. The auto sector also operates semi-cyclically.
One will grow properly for three years, then another three years and it wo n't grow. If you enter at a good time, you can make decent money. If there is a little mistake, the whole thing will be gone. Cyclical stocks there. The sixth is asset play. I already made a video about Asset Play, Elcid Investments.
Elcid Investments is also an asset play, what does it do? Asian Paints has invested there. That means it has more assets. Then there might be Maharashtra Scooter and then we made a video about Eddy Pary . AD Parinu Asset Play and Bajaj Holding are all asset play companies. To figure out when it goes up and when it goes down, you need to look at the asset ratio.
I've already explained that. I'll make a separate video about this another time . I will make a separate video about stall bots and fast growers, completely or not . This way, you should have all types of stocks in your portfolio. It should be like a garden. What do you do? Do you do a card every now and then?
Don't make it a garden. There should be flowers and fruits there. How beautiful the garden will be. What are you doing? Are you doing a card mod? Are you getting sick? Are you adding a mod? It looks like a portfolio garden. Where should you be? There should be fast growers, there should be such consistency compounders, there should be cyclical stocks, and there should be such asset plays.
Then, if you call it a garden, your portfolio should be like a garden. Peter Lynch says that the sixth lesson is that we should always follow the earnings of the stock. Not the news. Many people follow the news. They say that tomorrow something will happen to these stocks. They just invest on the basis of the news.
The news may take two days, three days, not a week. It may react. If it has won so many orders, it can go up on the stocks in a week. But in the long term, it will go up on the stocks. Earnings are the main thing that is important when it comes to stocks in the long term. What are the four things that are important?
First, earnings. Second, earnings. Third, earnings. Fourth, earnings. All that is left is to calculate how these earnings will come. Why do you look at this company again? Why do you look at this company's cash flow? Why do you look at each and every thing? Why do you look at earnings? To check whether the future of earnings is coming there?
We all look at stocks. The reason for earnings is not always news. You should not invest in emotions by watching news. News is always short-term oriented. The seventh lesson is that the more you learn, the more you earn. Peter Lynch says something like this. Have you seen this. You may have seen how gold is prepared.
Recently, Doctor Bro also made a video about it. Those of you who have seen the movie KGF will also know that whoever has the most rocks in it, what is a rock? Stone. Whoever has the most of that stone will get the most gold. Bikas, here in the stock market, whoever has more information and knowledge has the chance to make more money .
Because information is equal to money, whoever gets information stockpiled will buy it, and tomorrow someone else will buy it. This is what Warren Buffett says, the more you learn, the more you earn. For example, have you been reading about one company a week? Have you been learning about one company a week?
Have you been learning about the business model on the top of the list? How many companies did you choose per year? If you want to become 50 companies, which one company is interesting, then you don't need to read and study again. You can invest in a company that has a lot of stocks. You can get two or three multi- bagger stocks.
The more you learn, the more you earn. The more you learn, the more you earn. This last lesson is: Forget the macroeconomics. Focus on microeconomics. Macro means micro. Macro means economy, GDP may be, inflation data may be that data. All this data is called macro, they say, forget it. They say something like this: If you spend 13 minutes a year on economics, you wasted 10 minutes.
If you have spent 13 minutes a year on economics, have you already wasted 10 minutes on it? Don't be afraid to learn about economics. This macro thing is called inflation data. So, understand what inflation is, understand what economics is, understand how it works. Then, inflation data came out at 5.6.
This stock is going up, this That's not to say that if you want to know what will happen next, you need to know about the business of the individual company. If you understand the business model, then you will understand the future. Instead of worrying about this macro, learn about the business model of the company.
What does the company do? What does the future hold? Even in 2008, even after the financial crisis, HDFC Bank, Asian Paints, Nestle Pdelight, all of them grew by 20-22%. But then the economics were low. Then how are all of them growing? If you understand about those individual stocks, you need to know about this macro.
You don't need data, you don't need data, you need information, you need to know how GDP works. Because economics is all about understanding, but tracking. No need to check how much GDP growth came, how much that data came, how much this data came. You study individual companies, look at individual company data, how much quarter-on-quarter growth, what new product the company launches, what the future growth is, what the management is saying.
You should worry about that. Many people do it completely. Trump came and said, "Trump came and said, "Trump came and said, "Trump came and said, "Trump talked like this. This is why the economy is going to go and go. Because the recent news is overestimating it, that information is overestimating it.
If you look at it for a few days, it will not be counted. Leave the complete information. You worry about individual stocks. If you know what Trump says, it will affect your individual stocks. You will know that you are an individual stock. You will leave it like that. Do you worry about what Trump said?
There are eight lessons in this that may have seemed very repetitive to you. I have talked about this very lightly. We are talking to ourselves. Tell me in the flow. We have read the same books. We have read the same books. When we talk, we use some word in the middle. The market is very simple. The more complicated you make it, the more complicated it is.
If you understand it simply, it is simple. If you complicate it, it is complicated. Now, it is in my hands. If you do not understand it, it will not happen. If you do not understand it, it will happen. It is up to you to decide. If you need any guidance on investing in the stock market, there is a Google form in our description.
If you enter your details in that Google form, our team will call you and help you . Thanks for watching. See you again.
