01. greetings Greg for testify insight my topic today focuses on the fact that the former head of Daimler Trucks announced that the electric truck is the most important development in the last 120 years in automobiles now I am going to be going live on Sunday again and the question that comes up today is why are we doing a quick post now the answer is that we recently are getting if you look in the papers today there are 10 different announcements that Tesla is going to go out of business pretty soon because they're going to run out of cash and so that's the second issue that I have to cover this whole cash burn issue that's being discussed and Tesla's going out of business as a result first this is great for Tesla finance I'd thanks once again for joining us if this is your first time on a channel please like subscribe and take time to hit the bell icon so you don't miss anything I also wanted to note to you that we could use your help on patreon and because I'm associated with long and foster Realty as well as Christie's International I now have my real estate license and can do help with buys and sells anywhere in the world but easiest in the US but we also can do business internationally and we'd love to get a chance to work with you if that opportunity arrives either honestly out of a home or purchase of one so there's a I like to have a very succinct story where everything comes together nicely and there's been some news that I've been sort of confused by for the last four months since the truck was announced and I'll give you some data first let me give you some points and then I'll do what I think of it but hopefully I don't look crazy while I'm doing it and then you guys are I know gonna send notes to me that that's say we think you're crazy so so let me give an example so as we have discussed previously Walmart did this truck and the truck specifically had a narrow nose on it that was allowed because of the Nate of the turbine they were using and what the partners on that found was that there was a 20% reduction in wind drag on that truck and there was a 10% reduction in fuel consumption on that truck which resulted in in a few other innovations resulted in the fuel consumption going from the usual six miles per semi down to it was getting 13 miles a gallon basically instead of the usual six that semis get so what I was kind of stunned by and I've been sort of looking at and still can't figure out is there's a picture of a damla truck that I'll put on the cover of this and they announced that it was their electric truck now if you look at all the Daimler electric trucks that they're putting out in essence it may be everything built from scratch to be electric when you look at the trucks the core design of the truck is basically swapping out electric to a new truck electric from ice to electric but with the same body of the truck now the question you ask is why is this a big deal well the issue is that when you're what's called there's something called second mover advantage and what that means is that anytime you have the first mover they had to go out there and get a product out in place so people could use it then what happens is a second mover will come into place and this individual or company will deliver products that way that look at what the first mover did to come up with new ideas that represent new possibilities now this brings me to what is going on with all of the permit marry manufacturers of elected trucks deciding not to put the Pat the driver in the middle seat so why this is big is that all trucks had had all of this engine in the front bay that had to be accommodated but now that you have motors in the wheels you don't need to have this big front of the truck but most of the designs are still operating off the assumption that there's a big engine compartment needed and in the front of the truck and Tesla's decision to throw that sucker in the wind tunnel and say how are we going to modify the front of the truck to help reduce fuel consumption by 10 or 15 percent so the question that comes up you know for example so I'm intrigued because I spoke with an executives whose company owns 10,000 vehicles and he said to me wow that's kind of weird having the driver in the middle of the vehicle like that and I said to him that's a good point but what people hadn't been looking at for 120 years is the fact that if you get rid of the ice engine in front you now have options in terms of what's it done in the driver position to optimize wind drag on the vehicle so I thought it was interesting basically that there are customers that are like oh we don't know if we want a truck with the driver sitting in the middle because that's kind of weird but then if you have X number of dollars that are saved all of a sudden you have the benefit of all these dollars saved driven by the driver sitting in the middle of the truck same thing with the flange that's on top of the truck it represents a five percent reduction in fuel costs so there are technical reasons why certain things are done and I'm kind of blown away right now because one of the arguments that's coming up is that hey if you're Daimler or Ford or GM or all these companies and you've been doing something for a hundred and twenty years should I come or come in and do something that's you know not what's been done in the past and and get away with it if you will not only get away with it but have zero competition because the pre-existing manufacturers have no clue what to do now this harkens back to think about the difference between an iPhone and all the other phones that are out there unfortunately for a lot of companies around the world right now I think there are a lot of companies that are in trouble that a truck manufacturers but they kind of don't realize it so as a result the head of Daler trucks bought it out last year that the changes that Tesla is bringing about represent the most important changes that happen to trucks in the last 120 years and instead of saying that Tesla can't compete which is what Damer other además executives have said or Nicola has said I actually think it's the opposite I think that there's the problem right now that there are a lot of companies that are in very deep trouble and it was not being able to compete with what Tesla is doing and I think a lot of these folks could end up going out of business so the next thing so this whole so I was kind of stunned because when I first saw the the long haul test truck from Daimler I thought it was interesting because they had these really cool lights on the front of the truck and I was thinking okay it's an electric truck so the way you can tell it's electric it has lights on the front of it in the middle of the dashboard or in the middle of the front of the truck whatever you want to call it the face of the truck and it kind of looked futuristic and new and different but at the same time without other change of design changes like the location of the driver to help with our aerodynamics I almost felt like it was a we're doing what we've done in the past with a little bit of tweak so I have to admit I'll be excited when I see Damon will come out with a truck that does have a driver in the middle and we know the reason why the driver is in the middle because from an engineering standpoint it's an optimization of driver location so I almost am starting to get the feeling from all these little innovations not to mention the the monopoly that Tesla has is the only entity to have a battery that can haul 80 thousand pounds three to five hundred miles this is looking really really bad for a lot of manufacturers come in etc Daimler etcetera and hopefully they can get their act together and not be limited by the unions and end up going out of business the next thing I wanted to cover today is the fact that we try to do a talk at least once a month maybe twice related to the fact that right now we have at point Richard regarding driver in the middle allows you have same truck across the globe I wanted to jump into the whole discussion effective there are five different if you type in Tesla news right now there are a number of discussions that focus on the fact that Tesla is in deep trouble because they're not they don't have enough cash because they need to have five thousand model threes a month to get enough cash flow to feed the cast to their operations I think this is an interesting comment but there's a whole bunch of this Tesla's about to go out of business I think a lot of it's designed to try to create news that might negatively impact the stock and then the stock be impacted and then the company's sales might be impacted from Holland there and so I just am kind of shocked stunned that we're continuing to have this discussion and here's why I would not be stunned that 10% of the big money managers in the world that managed capital that owned Tesla stock actually owned Tesla's cars so all of these folks who are trying to put out news it says Tesla's a bad company bah-bah-bah their right to some extent because they aren't making money but Amazon wasn't making money at the beginning of the process either and now they're making a lot of money so I really am concerned about the fact that we're continuing to get this well-funded news by hedge funds that are losing money on a rising stock price of Tesla putting out all this crap and I really just want to affirm the fact that Tesla has plenty of assets that they can either sell or lease out or do let sale lease back of the factory many different ways to acquire capital and the capital markets are happy to lend to them at decent interest rates so I have no belief in this Tesla's about to run out of business out of money news that's been put out and I just want to affirm that Tesla has billions of dollars if what countless billions of dollars of backup because there are so many entities including truck buyers that could even do three buys on their truck because those companies are so wealthy and they're putting $20,000 a truck down to secure their place in line so I believe hopefully we won't have to get into this once a month as we've been doing but I do believe that we're going to continue to see a sort of bad behavior by the hedge funds who have a lot of money to sort of invent news that sort of casts aspersions on whether or not the Tesla's about to go out of business because they need the stock price to fall in order to win so bottom line is that excellent company a lot of great possibilities I do believe that there are a number of it's as monopolies it's the production next year and this is horrible news so hopefully those guys come five batteries and do this but this is a this could get very ugly for a lot of companies very quickly so what we've covered today is first a look at the Tesla semi and the fact that there's a lot of design at Tesla has baked in that represents four steps four trucks of all type including electric I'm kind of worried because while Dame Lauren Nikola etc have been claiming that Tesla can't compete in my mind I think it's the opposite I think there's a really bad situation going on where Daimler has been working on their electric truck product for the last eight to ten years and they currently have trucks that are in test but the batteries are so expensive that it's embarrassing currently where they're at in terms of number of they're just in an embarrassing position because they've got trucks out there that are Class seven trucks that are doing fine but the real cost of those trucks is so high that they're offering large losses on each truck just to have a footprint out there so that once they figure out their battery situation they can compete I actually do think Daimler will figure it out because they just bought a company that's doing some some good work when it comes to superconducting etc so I want to thank you again for joining us just a reminder 4 p.m.

02. Eastern on Sunday we'll be doing our our next sort of class session on new aspects of Tesla not being and not covered previously also wanted to remind you just got Realty license if you're buying or selling anywhere in the world we'd love to get an opportunity to represent you admin a Tesla fan insight is our email address if you want to send us a note and we can follow up with you on helping to make a transaction happen also hey if you want to send some info on interesting electric stuff in your area admin at Tesla fan in site.com is where you can do it we also have a Facebook page which is Tesla fan insight if you go over to our Facebook page that will allow you to upload things as well as send an email there for us as well I have to admit that I'm asking friends about 40% of my viewers which might include you are coming from other parts of the world and one of the things I was hoping to do is highlight innovations relative to electric that are happening in other places that might be considered in the United States and vice-versa so if you have interesting stuff that you think we should post definitely open to it so again we'd really appreciate one or two dollars on patreon you know and support on a monthly basis if possible we'll include a link for that it's also on our other videos I also want to thank you again for taking time out have a great day juice German MUX Arabic it's any support that you guys can provide thanks and have a great day and look forward to our next question
