Hey everyone, this is André Cadore speaking, and this is "About Money." Before we start the video, I'd like to ask for your like and subscription to the channel if you have n't already. After finishing high school, Mark entered Boston University, where he graduated in Communication. He also completed his master's degree in Communication in the same institution. Still in the academic field, Mark completed his PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the 1960s.

He also has specialization courses from the University of Wisconsin, the University of Mexico, and the University of California. Before starting his career, he worked for a time at Vikings da Costa, a company that operates in the securities sector. Mark was also president of the Internet in the Inverso Mentruz Company, a group located in Taiwan.

However, the businessman gained prominence when he was hired by Templeton Energy Marketing Group in 1987. Mark remained with the private fund until 2018. During this period, he gained prominence in the emerging markets group. For several years, Mobius was the chief manager of the Emerging Markets Investment Fund, managing a $50 billion portfolio of emerging markets, as well as 50 mutual funds.

In 2015, he announced his retirement from the company, and in 2018, after 31 years, he left the position. That same year, the executive founded Mobius Emerging Markets. His resume makes Mark Mobius one of the leading experts on emerging markets, having worked in the field for 40 years. He left the company in the late 1990s, where he served on the World Bank's Global Forum on Corporate Governance, as part of the private sector advisory group and in a leadership position in the Investor Responsibility Task Force.

His work in the field has been recognized numerous times, and he has been on lists of the 50 most influential people. He frequently receives prestigious awards and has space in major media outlets to share his knowledge on global economic issues. In recent times, Mark Mobius has been gaining prominence for his...

A defense in buying gold as an option to lower interest rates: understanding how gold buying and pricing works is interesting to study. Mobius is a long-term, fundamental investor who seeks to buy value companies, that is, those trading below what is considered fair value, which usually occurs during financial crises.

With this goal, he travels the world in search of good opportunities before other investors find them. The strategy after the purchase is to wait until the company appreciates, always thinking about selling it years later. When acquiring shares of a company, an investor considers not only the company's balance sheet, which shows how it is performing in relation to the market, but also researches the people responsible for the company's management.

The focus on governance standards is even part of the strategy of his current company. Mobius investors seek companies that are in line with the concept of governance. Concerns about these issues are elements that give value to a company. Recently, Mobius stated, for example, that before investing in energy or mining companies in Brazil, he would have to do a good analysis to ensure that the purchase would be worthwhile.

Another concern that companies need to have to be part of the portfolio is technology. With the pandemic, digital transformation was accelerated, and to have a A prosperous future: companies need to be online. Recently, Mobius sees Brazil as an excellent opportunity with very attractive prices. Let's see if they're right in the future.
