hey this is mike and today i want to talk about the latest moves from kathy woods from arkhamvest you probably know arc invest is one of the top uh actively matched etfs and the big news is that kathy wood sold uh tesla shares to buy the dips in alibaba and paypal so that would explain yesterday why paypal was up almost eight percent you saw alibaba which had uh a pretty bad uh move a couple days ago was up uh three and a half percent and then tesla um really was flat to down yesterday about 0.7 so basically i don't think this is like some earth-shattering news on why uh kathy woods sold tesla is almost 10 percent of the arc innovation etf it kind of makes sense if she's made a lot of money on tesla that she would sell some of that and buy the dip in stocks that she um are interested in so basically uh arc innovation made sizable sales of tesla shares on tuesday both etfs sold around 0.65 of the total fund assets that were attributed to electric vehicle company tesla shares were up 400 in 2020 so um that makes a lot of sense to sell your biggest holdings if you've made 400 percent in you know in 10 months uh paypal and alibaba are top 10 holdings for the fintech innovation etf paypal became a new holding an ark innovation etf um yeah so i think i think that's a really smart move and this is one of the reasons why i like holding the ark innovation etf is because if if i kathy woods is going to be a better trader than me she's going to know this stuff better than i do and she has a whole team so i'm willing to pay the 0.75 uh um uh year management fee to have her make these moves for me um paypal obviously the largest online um financial transaction company baba the largest e-commerce company essentially in the in china and probably going to be the largest e-commerce company maybe in the world uh they could i i do see baba being able to compete directly with amazon instead of essentially being a thir being the third party supplier to amazon but paypal was up this incredible run up eight percent it'll probably give back a little bit but um you look at the chart yeah she definitely bought that dip and wow and i'm actually going to do a video i think in the future talking about the the sort of the kathy wood effect or the arc innovation effect is that a kathy woods arc innovation is now like warren buffett's berkshire hathaway where it's simply the news of her buying the stock propels the stock higher so that's why i would definitely recommend buying the arc innovation etf or any of the arc etfs because as soon as she she you know she reveals that she buys something then other people jump in and buy that stock so it just makes the stock go higher it's almost like legalized front running that she's able to do because her stock is so popular and so well respected it's kind of like what happens with um berkshire and barrack gold where uh berkshire bought a bunch of barrick gold and then revealed in their filings that they owned bear gold and then bear gold went up 20 afterward it's almost like she's able to print money so if you own ark innovation you can literally just like at least for the time being now is there if their fund is considered hot you can literally print money because every time they buy into a stock it pops again when people find out about the purchase so i would definitely take a look at all the arc ets but the the innovation i believe ark is the flagship that's the one that i'm in and um i all of that i think that like the top five managed etfs for 2020 arc has four of them um i may do i may do a video also on the different types of arc etfs because i'm only in one of them but i am interested in getting the others but i thought that would be very helpful news so i hope you enjoyed the video if you did please be sure to leave a like go ahead and subscribe turn on notifications i do multiple updates each day on stocks options the stock market anything going on with this with the world of investing okay thanks bye
