And now we'll invite Jim Cramer. He is, of course, the host of the program "Mad Money" on CNBC. Jim, stocks are at their peak for the day. Look, it was beautifully done. It was an A+ grade. Everyone who participated did an amazing job . Two, uh, bookrunners, retail for Morgan Stanley, Institution for Goldman, they're great.
Uh, I haven't seen a deal done as well as this one , as far as I can remember. Uh, I'm sure Elon Musk had a big part in this. I would be remiss if I didn't say this, but it really is perfect, Kelly. This is just fantastic work. I -uh, I said that I think it could go up to 2.5, uh, trillion. Maybe it will happen, but you got it at a good price.
Uh, people who want to buy more, who got in, uh, will have a very good average. This is really very well done. You know what struck me, Jim? And again, I think I'm praising CBC too much today, but they have this great thing. I spoke to a lot of retail investors about the IPO, and the funny thing was that almost all of the retail investors agreed that yes, it was probably overvalued in the short term.
Yes, the valuation is high, but they all feel a desire to have a stake in the long run. Um, you know, I also know there are a lot of people who just wanted to get in on the first day of the IPO. So let's see if they can hold up in the long run, because can you imagine what the quarterly results of this company will be like?
And Gwen Showell talked to Morgan about it. They don't care. This thing can grow by 80%. This is going to be a mess, yes, for a long time. So, well, you know, but that's okay. You can buy more. Uh, my friend Brad Gerser said a lot of really good things about what this deal really means . It seems to me that in some ways we are losing to the Chinese everywhere, or at least that's what the press makes us think.
But we wo n't lose in space. We are not losing his base because Elon Musk has a vision. You are allowed to buy some of what Elon Musk does. I am very proud of this. I think at some point I would like to have this for my charitable foundation. It's because I'm talking about it, so I can't. But you know, you know, Kelly, sometimes deals get made, and they really impress as much as they should, and they attract people.
Er , it's not outrageous. This is not awesome. This is not Figma. This is just a really good deal at a really good price. And people who want to buy it, I think, should definitely do it. So there's nothing embarrassing about it. There are always a few people who, um, they're kind of pet bears and you can dig them up and they'll come up with a lot of negative things, but I've seen that since I came.
I was walking down Wall Street 44 years ago when the Dow Jones was around a thousand. And the same skeptics, some of them are still here, but we have new skeptics. They do the same thing. And they prevent people from getting rich. Uh, and their jobs, people who have steady jobs that will never make them rich.
I believe we should encourage wealth, and that will ultimately bring people a lot of money. Do you think, Jim, that people are going to have to think really long-term about, you know, when you buy it for two and a half? I mean , look at Tesla . Its market capitalization hasn't fluctuated that much in recent years.
So , you know, buy it, own it, put it away, whatever. But that's exactly what I mean . I expect there to be quite a bit of volatility in the near future. It might take a while for this to really become, you know , a huge wealth generator. Well, you know, Kelly, the Chinese have targeted, uh , robots, and they've targeted cars.
Uh, and when the PLA and the Chinese government unite, they can really destroy many industries, as many working people in our country know. Uh, I do n't think Elon Musk would tolerate this. And that's why I think we're going to own space. This is a person who uniquely understands how important it is to own space.
Uh, and I think I want to be with him. I don't care, you know. And by the way, he has things in his head right now that are probably much more valuable than what we see and just haven't articulated. This is the same thing Jensen Wong did, another genius. He had many things in his mind that weren't fully formulated, but they're all coming to fruition.
I think this company is more than what it has in store. Uh, and I think I personally don't know if I'm proud to be an American today. I know, uh, it sounds almost silly because we're talking about sheets of paper, but I think it's more than just a sheet of paper. I think it reminds me a lot of when we landed on the moon and I realized we had defeated the Russians.
Uh, and at that point, I know it's hard to believe, but the Russians in the press were supposed to beat us in everything, in every aspect of technology. And we believe we have won this race, and something has changed in our country, where we believed we were superior. Since then , of course, we have retreated and once again believed that the Russians are superior . There are always people who I think should be superior.
