I hate to say I told you so, but nope. I'm right there with you guys. I'm actually down on the day. Uh $3,300. Not super terrible. Micron is down 14%. I don't even want to talk about how much I'm down on my long-term account, right? My long-term portfolio is something that I uh don't necessarily always talk about.
I'm invested in many of these big tech companies long term. Um they're getting hit pretty hard today. I'm not here to ever apologize for talking about risk because of moments like this. I've been adamant from the very beginning when markets were trading, right? I first wanted to show you how much it is that um I'm currently down just to show you that I'm taking a hit.
I wish I would have known that markets were going to sell off as much as they did. I would have shorted them to smitherreens as well, right? I don't feel comfortable carrying shorts overnight. Markets were celebrating yesterday. They were optimistic. It didn't really make sense to me. I expressed that with you guys because the Dems have never been really bullish on the AI buildout and we'll talk about that in just a little bit.
The NASDAQ market is having one of its worst days. I want to be straight up with you. Like there's no reason to sugarcoat it. Is today really not that bad? No, it's bad. It's the worst trading day for the NASDAQ market of 2026. That is bad. Can it get worse? Yes. Could it be an overreaction? Possibly.
Am I buying into this dip with my long-term account? Yes. Am I doing it aggressively where I can't tolerate any more selling pressure? No. For moments like this, right, when markets were pushing to all-time highs, I would love to see all of the idiots that got offended when I talked about when markets were pushing to all-time highs and really there was no positive news.
Inflation was still running higher than what was expected. There was still Iran and Middle East concerns. The the housing crisis was still looming, right? and the possibility for the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates was still present. And we're talking about this whole midterm election of like, hey, there's a very high probability that the Democrats could win.
That just normally always isn't bullish for moments like this. I can't believe so many people got offended of when I talk about risk yet. Where are you now? The reason we talk about the what if days, it's not the I told you so. You're right. I can't predict the future. I never have said that I can. But for moments like this to not use leverage at overbought levels, right?
To always take downside into consideration so you don't overlever yourself at overbought levels. So when markets do sell off and deals do present themselves, you're at least able to take advantage of them. No question that markets can get worse and we'll see, right? That's one thing that I do want to talk about and I do want to elaborate more.
I want to share ideas with you guys. But man, it it is a tough day. It's a rough day for everyone, right? Uh we have a we have a few LPP traders that took aggressive shorts. We had one of our traders in today's live session within the first 30 minutes. They were up over $15,000. I mean, um definitely a very profitable day for those that went aggressive and and shorted the market.
I wasn't quick enough to jump on that. I wanted to play it a little bit safe. Markets opened up 1.5% in the red. Now they're down 5.7%. By the time that we were done with our 1hour live session this morning, I feel like we did a really good job kind of bringing down our nerves, reminding people, hey, let the market sell off.
Let the market sell off. And then once that support began to settle and there began to be indication of a reversal, then I announced it to them. I told them, hey, I'm buying into this dip. Um, it pushed up, then I took profits, and then yeah, it sold back off. I'm starting to buy again, and I'm having fun with it.
That's all I can do, right? I'm not trying to short. This is my personal take. I still do believe that at oversold levels for beginners since they're not the best at managing and mitigating risk. I still think it makes more sense to just buy good quality companies long-term to go long, not use leverage, not use margin so you don't get forced to sell if it does get worse before it gets better, but if and when markets do begin to recover whenever it is that that presents itself, uh that you're able to benefit from it, right?
Keep it simple, as simple as possible. Less is more, especially during moments like this. Now, is it pretty bad? Yeah. Uh, $2.5 trillion erased from the US market in 60 minutes as Democrats call to ban AI. Do I actually believe that the Democrats will ban AI? No. Like, that would be absolutely just stupid, right?
Are Democrats the most bullish on AI? No. So, could they make it more challenging for these AI companies to continue to scale? Yes. And I believe that is a big concern right now. Right. Right. So, I think this is the adjustment that we're beginning to see. Again, I'm talking to you about I'm buying the dip.
I shared it today on my Instagram where I think I bought like $175,000 worth of Micron stock this morning as it went sub 660 per share. Uh part of it I'm going to keep. Part of it I'm going to sell as markets uh slowly begin to recover. If markets slowly begin to recover, but again, I'm positioning myself appropriately.
We all have different dollar amounts that we feel comfortable investing in during uncertain times. Do not focus on me. Do not focus on other people. So just ask yourself, hey, at these levels, do you see any of these companies to be good deals? And if you believe that markets are going to recover, then even if you just buy one share, buying one share in my opinion is better than buying a 100 shares and then using margin and leverage.
I've shared that with you guys before for moments like this, right? SanDisk down 66%. From its highs, ARM down 64%, Coinbase down 63, Nibbius down 64, Seagate down 60, Marvel Technologies down 59. The list goes on. Oracle 56, app 54, Circle, did I say that already? 54. Super Micro 51, Micron 48. The list goes on, right?
We have SpaceX here. We have AMD here. We have Alphabet, we have Tesla, Meta, Nvidia, all over 25% draw downs. So, deals are present, but please understand that it can get worse. Look at this. The sector that's getting hit the hardest, a lot of the chip stocks, right? SanDisk down 20%. all on just in the one day, right?
It's pretty bad. I I want to highlight how bad it is. Meta and their draw downs today. The one that I really like is Apple is down less than 1%. Again, like it's so cool to see Apple be so resilient when everyone else is so exposed, right? I also wanted to highlight that first off, let's talk about this breaking news.
Micron is plunging after Texas elected a new governor who wants to pause new data centers. That is a real concern. We'll see how it all unfolds. I think markets could be overreacting. Could be. We still don't know. If you feel like you can predict the future and you know exactly what's going to play out, then again, maybe you have a crystal ball that none of us do, right?
With that being said, I do believe that, you know, there is uncertainty and markets are respectfully, you know, um adjusting to that um new uncertainty. So, yes, there is uncertainty and and the ones that might get hit the hardest are possibly reacting or overreacting today. I think this is also a great reminder, myself included, Dow Jones is having its best day in 2026, right?
These are not tech focused stocks, right? Stocks that have hit recent 52- week highs. Coca-Cola, Marriott, Lily, Apple, Visa, Mastercard, Berkshire, Hathaway. Isn't that crazy? Black Rockck. A great reminder to just like be well invested, diversified for moments like this. I know a lot of these companies might be boring.
You know, we talked about it in our live session this morning. McDonald's, uh, Costco, uh, CMG, Nike is still getting absolutely destroyed. But, uh, nonetheless, this is where diversification makes sense for investors, not necessarily for traders, but I just wanted to highlight that that again, you don't have to know it all, but it's for moments like this that you kind of keep your portfolio well balanced.
So, you can you can have some green while most of the tech is exposed in the red. There it goes. NASDAQ market QQQ down 6% on the day. We're about to hit new lows on the day and also Micron Technologies. here goes 5.5K on the day is what it is that I'm currently down. And again, the cheap can always get cheaper.
Uh what else do we have here? Uh we have Nvidia down 9% on the day. One of the most valuable companies that's publicly traded, losing onetenth of its value in just a matter of hours, right? We have Google. I love this. Only down 1.8. I love it. I am invested in Google. I bought a little bit more Google today uh for my kids.
I bought a little bit more Micron for my kids. I bought a little bit more Nvidia today uh for my kids. Um but again, I bought enough just to have some more skin in the game. I didn't buy so much that I have none left if markets do get worse. And I'm telling you this as an as an investor. I do think things can get worse.
This is what I wanted to share with you guys. This is my opinion and please do not get offended by me just sharing an opinion. Okay. My concern is that and I was sharing these different ideas and um I was talking to my FA today and uh he brought up a really good point of like hey I think that the Democrat, you know, with this whole AI ban, uh they might be shaking out the market and they're just going to go all out on potentially targeting these AI companies.
They're going to maybe try to really slow down the expansion and that can definitely hurt these companies because a lot has been factored in in advance. It's not that these companies are not going to continue to grow. And I think that's the people that um that's the thing that people get confused is that these companies selling off today like Nvidia is not 10% less productive today.
It's just it's not worth as much as it was yesterday based off of market cap, right? It's a public stock, public company, but the business itself is still growing at a very accelerated rate, right? Same thing with Micron, same thing with AMD, same thing with Apple, same thing with all of these companies.
Even when markets sold off in 2022 for 12 consecutive months, it wasn't that all of those companies were doing terrible for that year. Market sentiment was just weak. There was uncertainty. So these businesses, cuz that's what they are, are still growing. There's just uncertainty behind them. So knowing that the political landscape is changing and that Democrats might be most likely more adamant to regulate AI and AI buildout and data centers that will affect the growth that was factored in in advance to what the growth might look like in the realistic future.
Hopefully we can find a middle ground where we have the Democrats on one side saying no let's ban AI. I think that's kind of stupid, right? We don't want to lose the race to China. But also on the far right side, we had people that were being super aggressive with the AI buildouts. Maybe we could kind of meet in the middle.
My concern is that, and this was brought to me um earlier today with the idea that what the Democrats could also just be pressing a lot of pressure because they know that, you know, the market has been quite elevated. A lot of it is due to these AI companies since most of the NASDAQ and the S&P 500, their exposure is in these AI companies.
that what if they're just trying to apply enough pressure to enter a technical recession u under the Trump you know presidency and term right so maybe for the next two years they do make it more challenging they make it a living hell for him and unfortunately we are just a byproduct of that I really hope that that isn't the case right I hope that we can find a middle ground maybe hope is not necessarily something you want to hear right now but I'm being straight up with you right we do not know what we do know is that Long-term markets are more bullish than bearish.
Some people are calling for the absolute crash that no, everything is going to zero. I'm selling everything. I'm shorting everything. I don't believe shorting for beginners at oversold levels is the smartest idea because of if there's a tweet that's sent and markets just all of a sudden begin to recover.
When you're a beginner and then quick market direction turns against you. You might not be the best at managing or mitigating risk. This is where I think less is more. This doesn't mean, you know, more deals are presenting themselves. It can get worse before it gets better. Don't use leverage. Buy what you could afford and know that hopefully you have some put aside that if we see continuous selling pressure for the next few weeks, we've been talking about this for the past few weeks that if selling pressure continues that you're in a position where you welcome it.
Just try to think of what that looks like. Spread out your money of what you're planning to invest. If it's $1,000, if it's $10,000, if it's $100,000, I don't know what that looks like for you. How much are you buying with right now? And how much are you allocating for the future? There is no confirmation of a reversal.
There is no recovery confirmed. It does look pretty bad right now, but it always does at first. And then the noise gets less loud. markets begin to accept that they might have overreacted and then shortly after a significant red day follows, you know, some nice recoveries. That doesn't mean we're going to make a full recovery and go back to previous all-time highs right away.
It could be a challenging landscape of what we have coming for the next few months to maybe the next few years. Position yourself to tolerate, right? I feel like I've done all I can to talk about risk, to talk about position size management, and I hope that you can see where my intentions were coming from to not use leverage during uncertain times because it could get worse before it gets better for moments like this.
I want to see you win, but if you get shaken out, you'll never win. So work backwards. Don't overexpose yourself to a point where you get shaken out and then it's a distasteful experience and then now you just want to sell. Even if you just buy one share, however light it needs to be for you to respect the risk that the markets are currently presenting presenting right now.
I'm excited. I really am. It's a scary time, but it's an exciting time because as we've seen, markets tend to be more bullish than bears. So, I hope that my little TED talk here uh a little bit of a longer video today, but I hope that you can see why. Right. So, if you are not invested in the market just yet, but you want to start the trading application that I use, it's commission free and they're offering you 12 free shares if you sign up right now.
