01. The US stock market is officially open for trading. The major averages are expected to ride Monday's AI-fueled rally, with the S& P 500 having its best day since early August. Artificial intelligence, of course, was at the center of activity, prompting the Global X NYSE 100 ETF to jump more than 2.7% earlier in the week.

02. Optimism about Meta's Muse artificial intelligence agent lifted the tech giant to a gain of more than 11%. That momentum lifted shares of chipmakers , such as NYSX ETF component Advanced Micro Devices, by nearly 10% and reached a market capitalization of $1 trillion for the first time in history. Well, in late August, Silicon Valley autonomous trucking company Gatik announced it had raised $200 million in Series D funding.

03. Notable participants included Arc Invest founder and CEO Katie Wood, who said in a statement, quote: "We believe the company is well positioned to help create the future of freight." I'm joined now by Gatik Co-Founder and CEO Gautam Narang to share more information. Gautam, welcome to the New York Stock Exchange.

04. Thank you very much for inviting me. Good. So, how do you plan to distribute this $200 million in new funding? Absolutely. So, with this $200 million funding, the focus is on scaling. So, Gatik works with some of the largest retailers , grocery stores, and consumer goods companies, and they want our trucks throughout their supply chain.

05. Today, Gatik works for the Pepsi network in three markets in Texas, Arkansas and Arizona. The focus is on consolidating each of these markets and expanding into new markets. Tell me about the business. What do you offer? Absolutely. So, Gatik is engaged in autonomous freight transportation. We work with retailers, grocery stores to help move products from their distribution centers and warehouses to their retail store network.

06. So, our driverless trucks operate 24/7, day and night on highways and surface roads, increasing the freight traffic our customers depend on. What does the demand for unmanned commercial freight transportation look like? So, today Gatik has over 600 million in contract revenue. The total opportunity we are pursuing is over $300 billion.

07. And you know, if you take a step back, it's all driven by end-consumer expectations, right? You and I, as end consumers, when we place an order, we want to receive it as quickly as possible. And it's exactly this need and opportunity that we're helping to create for some of the largest retailers , grocery stores, and consumer goods companies.

08. And what distinguishes your approach to autonomous freight transportation from that of your competitors? So, one of the unique things about Gatik is that we do dock-to-dock shipping. So we pick up products from our customers' distribution centers, navigate their sites and logistics hubs, drive on surface streets, meaning, essentially, we navigate intersections, pedestrians, cyclists, get on the highway, and deliver products right to the customer's doorstep.

09. So, dock-to- dock delivery is how we think about our positioning, and we think of Gatik as automating the Houston logistics network for customers . How do these driverless trucks fit into your customer supply chain? So, this is a replacement in the supply chain to customers. The way customers interact with our driverless trucks is through our fleet management platform.

10. We call it Gatik Omni. So Omni is a way for our customers to gain full visibility into their supply chain. So, say, an impact that occurs upstream at a distribution center , how does that affect the downstream effect at the point of issue? This is the kind of visibility we provide through Gatik Omni.

11. And then there's another aspect, which we call Havi, which is the human-audiovisual interface . So this is essentially how customers physically interact with the trucks. What are some examples of how this works every day for your clients? So today we are essentially enabling our customers to increase fleet capacity, right?

12. This is, uh, in a segment where you have an extreme shortage of drivers. So we're getting into the game, uh , using our driverless trucks, helping to operate those trucks on routes and networks that are hard to staff. And, uh, also , essentially, helping our customers move goods between their warehouses and retail stores more frequently.

13. Okay, and your Series D round brought in some significant investors. What does this signal about where the industry is now? Absolutely. So, the round is led by the Qatar Investment Authority. These are, uh, investors who recently doubled their investment in Entropik. Uh , that's right up there with Coke Disruptive Technology, uh, Millennium, and Cathie Wood's Ark Invest.

14. So it's a signal that, uh, you know, the segment is proven, the technology is proven, the economics of the business are also proven. With this capital, the focus for us is on scale and growth. What was it like when Kathy Wood and Ark Invest invested in your company? Absolutely. We have known this team for some time, and with this funding they are doubling their investment in the company.

15. They are clearly very bullish on this sector, and some evidence that Gothic has come together around unmanned operations day and night with real commercial demand, right? With over $600 million in contracted revenue, this is exactly the proof that Katie, Ark, and the rest of the investors are looking for.

16. What is one of the coolest things your trucks can do? So, we're broadcasting live all over Phoenix. We see a lot of traffic violators in Phoenix, so people jump in front of the truck. Our system, our technology, always does the right thing, so we encounter many unique extreme cases every day. Okay, so what's next for you and your team after this round of funding?

17. So, by the end of this year, we plan to scale up production to hundreds of driverless trucks, and next year, we plan to deploy thousands of trucks. We see real traction from our commercial partners. And you know, Pepsi, some of the other clients we work with have huge fleets. So the opportunities are huge, and those are exactly the opportunities Gatik is looking for.
